Yorvalor smiles slily. "I figured you are not of the type to tag along with others on a 'adventure'. I could use a day to stay out of sight. I just hope that our host doesn't mind the extra company in his house." Yorvalor winks at Tharii.
"Soo... Since we have some of time in our hands. Would you mind explaing to us what do you know of these Faith's Agents that's causing so much problem? Well, to us at least. Also, why do you think Masus is key to all of this?"

"That's the thing. I don't entirely know what they're about. I just know they're here. And happen to be up to something. I'm hoping that Masus will tell us a bit more." Tharii begins to stand up, reaching over and grabbing a piece of fruit off the table. "He's key because he's the easiest target. And the one who said you two," two fingers reach out to point around the fruit at Emund and Yorvalor, "came and attacked his place. So clearly this man has some sort of grudge against you."
“He may have a grudge against us,” Emund began, taking a sip of tea, “but I think it’s safe to say that we’ve got one growing against him, as well. Do you know exactly what his claim about us is?”
"His place was attacked. Some people came in, kicked open the doors. Cut and slashed their way through some guards. Kicked over tables at his little casino. Stabbed a few folks. General carnage. I've been lead to believe that once he reported it, he named you two and your friend Cade."
Tharii takes another bite of the fruit before tossing it a few times in his hand while he chews. "But with him running a underground gambling den, he may have a few people paid off. Or have paid off others to agree with him in the little report. You know, you may be able to make some coin out of all of this as well," there's a small chuckle from him.
"I'm sure he'll have a few more guards around now. But then again, killers returning to the scene of the crime is bound to scare a few of them too. Not sure if you want to kick open a door and smash a skull, or if you're looking to dress the part and get inside and make do."
"All I know is that they tried to burn the Falcon's Nest down. I usually would choose the non violent choice, but I am pretty mad at this Mr. Masus right now. I think he is the reason for our unfortunate predicament at the moment. I don't think I would mind cracking some skulls in this case. Though, I must say, I am not exactly very proficient on that front. The 'dress the part and get inside' is more of my style." Yorvalor smiles slyly.

"Contrary to how I feel, I don't think smashing skulls is the path we ought to take. It would just confirm the accusations he's made against us." Emund pauses to think, scratching at his chin and looking from Tharii to Yorvalor and back again. "But what if it wasn't we who was doing the cracking of skulls? Do you know of any rival gangs with poor tempers? I can't imagine that the expansion the Orchids have been making has gone unnoticed by folks who would've claimed the territory they've stepped into."
Helping tempers flare could help, Emund thinks to himself, flicking the threads on his wrists. Abruptly, he pauses.
"Tharii, what do you know of the screaming last night? Here, I mean. The medical procedure?" Emund watches for recognition in Tharii's face (Insight: 19).
"I suppose there are. At first I heard about these little agents of the Faith once different gangs began to make moves into new territories. The Orchids were moving on a territory that was mostly controlled by the Vashanta's henchmen. Rough up dock-workers. Make sure things stay safe. But Vashanta suddenly started picking a fight with a section of the Fishers that tended to serve more... unsavory under the radar types. All of this just around the same time that the Orchid's began stretching their wings. Fish have to eat bigger fish to get larger. Or something like that. I don't really understand all the Fisher's metaphors and sayings."
He opens his mouth to continue the conversation when his eyes snap over to Emund. For the briefest moment, there's a flash of emotion. His usual demeanor being pushed aside. "A friend of mine was stabbed. I had to call in a favor, get him all patched up. Toshii, believe it or not, is actually a pretty good doctor..." his voice trails off as he looks over Emund for a moment. You can tell he's telling the truth. But it isn't the whole truth. Something is off about it.
Emund smirks upon hearing about the two other gangs fighting. "Sounds like we might want to talking to one or both of these crews of unpleasant types. Thank you for the information." He pauses, thinking for a moment, and then asks, "Do you know what type of 'unsavory under the radar types' the Fishers serve? Might prove to be a good disguise headed that direction."
--
"Sorry to hear about your friend," Emund says. Noticing that something is held back, he presses a bit more, choosing words carefully. "I overheard some of the work Toshii was performing. Hopefully he didn't have to alter too much of your friend, lest the lasses or lads not recognize them any longer. Sad fate, that'd be." He watches Tharii's face again (Insight: 21).
"If your friend needs it, I can perform prayers or rites. Or even just the comfort of a chat."
--
Once through with his tea, Emund turns to Yorvalor. "Have you got a preference in how we attack this? I think it would be worth talking to these battling brutes, but I've no strong opinions on which we talk to, first or at all."
"Pirates. Oil tycoons. Illegal merchants. Docks attract all sorts of trouble. Different people with different goals. Sometimes unified by a code. Or coin."
As the conversation shifts, Tharii's face once again seems to loose a bit of it's calm demeanor. There's a bit of a huff and a sigh. His hands folding into one another as he stops and sits back down. Looking over at Yorvalor and Emund. "They're fine. They should survive. Given the time. It's a bad sad when family gets injured. But it happens in this line of work." He keeps a cold gaze on Tharii. His demeanor showing a bit of a threat. But his eyes seeming to have just the slightest motions. As if gaming out the situation and what may be happening next. "Tell me. Emund. Is there something you want to know? Or perhaps, you, Yorvalor." His eyes dart between the two.
Tharii's face seems to shift just a bit. Lips pressing together. Trying to see what they'd do next.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Yorvalor is not sure what Emund and Tharii are discussing regarding Tharii’s friend. However, he is very interested about the other gangs fighting each other. That sounds more like his cup of tea. He rather use his words instead of his sword.
”Say Tharii. What can you tell us about this Vashanta gang? Perhaps we could pay them a visit first.” Yorvalor tries to remember if he has heard of this group before. At the very least the name sounds intriguing. (History: 11)

"The Vashanta are a dangerous batch. Run some protection schemes. Keep the streets supplied with all kinds of odds and ends. They serve to move product. Fear, and exortion being one. I could arrange a introduction. But. If they learn you're wanted men? You'd quickly learn what it means to be owned, or how much your head could be worth to the right seller." Tharii takes another look back and forth. "I can arrange a meeting with you and one of them. But a meeting of talent is all I can pull. As for the smugglers and pirates down in the fishers, I honestly don't have a lot of true connections to," he shakes his head. "I don't have connections I'm willing to use on you. Not when I have to find out what happened to Keegan and your other friend."
"It seems that we our work cut out for us. Please do find our friends. I would like to discuss our next step with Brother Emund. Meanwhile, should we just wait here while you look for 'assistants' for us?" Yorvalor smiles and winks at Tharii.
He approaches Brother Emund. "So, what do you think Brother Emund. I guess no matter what, it's not going to be an easy choice. I am with you on whatever you decide."

"I'm having the thought that our best action here is to speak with Tharii's Vashanta connect. I'm not interested, necessarily, in doing anything that would violate the law, when it comes to Masus, but if we have a group of ruffians willing to do it in our stead, that's a whole other story," says Emund.
A few days past. Tharii vanishing during the first day. He does come back on the second and third days, however. Wearing a rather poor person's outfit. Sometimes going up and down the stairs to his room with a bit of a wince. He seems to keep to himself. Not really engaging in much dialogue.
Of course, he does seem like a busy person. The days you're well kept inside the mansion. Taken care of. Talking and discussing with the hired help. Able to walk the back gardens and get a brief reprieve from all the chaos.
It's lunch on the third day. The doors opening, as Tharii wearing his usual fancy vest comes in. "Bad news first," he begins. "I have no idea where your Cade friend is." He walks over, grabbing some of the fresh fruit and dried fish off the table. "Good news," he says with a gesture. Someone walking out (Yorvalor - using your sidekick). "These are the folks that need your help. Once you finish working with them, our debts will be settled," he pauses to bite a apple. "Also... found this gentlemen who says he can help." Tharii glances over just behind him, as you all notice Keegan.
"Tonight, I've arranged a meeting at The Mermaid. It's a house of... well... it's a brothel. Down in the Market Square. A man named Leon should be there. Hard to miss fellow. Well kept beard. Broad. Dwarf. I didn't tell him exactly who is going to meet him."
Tharii fills you in with some other details, and how to get to the Mermaid. It's a somewhat public building right in the markets. Down a street from the main road and off on a corner. The guards regularly sweep by it, but generally don't pay it much attention. Some people in the community have issues with it, as people sell themselves for the use of others. Others in the city don't really mind, as it's a rather peaceful place during the day and early evening.
Tharii leaves you all to meet, come up with a plan, and discuss what's been going on.
Toshii, the Loxodon Master of the House, gives you all a letter enabling you to return. It's signed and sealed, but at least gives you a chance to return to this safe house once more. Heading out around dusk, The Mermaid is rather easy to find. Oil Streetlights near the building, taking away most of it's shadow. The building itself a tall three story home with wrap around porches on the first and second floors. Large windows on the bottom flood showcase the amount of people inside. Much smaller windows on the second, and hardly any windows up on the third floor. Where it's positioned on the road gives a lot of sight lines. Quick glance, you don't see any city guards around. A few men and women are outside on the porches; talking, drinking, hustling. It's hard to tell exactly who's trying to seduce who from the distance. Two large men stand by the door on either side, keeping a eye out.
What do you do? (/What did you do during the mid-day to evening time)
Yorvalor is very disapointed with his performance when they faced the lone Agent. He still blames himself for losing his friend Cade. So while resting at Mr. Toshii's mansion. He took the opportunity to practice his spellcasting abilities, and also on the delivery of his crafty words. He thinks that he wasn't witty enough, and thus the Agent was able to resist his spells. So he practiced extra hard on his verbal skills.
On the third day at lunch. Yorvalor sees Tharii come in, but this time he's wearing a fancy vest. So he knew that the mysterious tiefling finally had something to say to the group. He sees a man, called Max come in and he sits next to Yorvalor, and then he saw Keegan! He was so happy that he went to give his friend a big hug.
"Friend Keegan, where have you been all this time. We were so worried about you!!"
Later on, in front of the Mermaid. Yorvalor wears his leather armor under some new performing ensemble that he just purchased the previous day. He says to the group. "Soo, my friends. What is the plan? Brother Emund. Are you sure that you will be ok entering this establishment?"

Walking in the house after Tharii, Keegan sees his friends, leaning again the wall very casually. "Hello there me mates, good know I was missed. I got grabbed during the fight outside the Nest, Agents of the Faith." Keegan spits on the ground at mentioned the Agents, then winces a bit holding his ribs. "They threw me in a cell, lets say they were less than kind. Accused me of being an apostate. Wanted to know what dark power I sold my soul to. I was able to give 'em the slip, it's good to know people I guess." Walking over to the table, grabbing an apple and putting his feet up "so what did I miss?" with a mouth full of food.
Out front of the mermaid "Oi! this looks like me kind of place! I take it we're not here for drink and fine company, what's the play here?"
When Keegan appeared behind Tharii, Emund was stunned. He was certain that the man, should they meet again, would be in far rougher shape after a run in with any sort of fixers in the Faith. The other man too, who Tharii brought to aid them–after heading to rest with grim outlooks, things were looking substantially better, despite being bad.
During down time, Emund prayed. He prayed like he hadn't in quite some time. He went through the motions of the long prayers that he was first introduced to when he found a congregation of believers of the Broken God. It was a tiring and long process, but by the end of it, he felt a bit better about their prospects. He tried his best to conceal what he was doing, making it seem as though he was just reflecting in the yard outside, but he had reached a point of nearly not caring. After all, the religion of which he was on the surface a practitioner of had tried to end him and his comrades such little time ago.
At the Mermaid, when questioned by Yorvalor, Emund thinks for a moment.
"Though I'd prefer to circumvent this place, I don't think I can. I'll hold onto the idea that if I'm not purchasing anything–if I'm not supporting it–then I'm still on the right side of the law." He looks at Keegan grinning. "And I'll turn the other way if you want to bury your face into anything."
He turns to look at the guards at what must've been the front door and gestures towards them. "Shall we? Leon who's we want, yeah?"
Throwing a sly look and a wink at Edmund at the mention of burying his face in something, but all he could do was think about burying his thoughts in some drink. The dreams still haunted him with visions of what happened that day outside the nest. What was happening to him, where were these powers coming from.
Walking in to the Mermaid he heads straight for the bar, orders three drinks. Turning to Edmund and Yorvalor “Cheers boys” and downs all three drinks. Seeing the looks on their faces, “oh did you want drinks too?”

"Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life."
