I updated thePosting Format to include the below addition about posting. You are encouraged to post as much as you'd like! Please don't wait on others and continue along as passion and interest would begin fading that way.
In addition, the game has officially started! You can find the game by clicking the link here.
Thanks!
0. Do your best to post at least ONCE a day. If you know in-advance that you will be away and will be unable to fulfill this, please let the DM know so accommodations can be made.
In addition, you are encouraged to post as much as you'd like! You are NOT required to wait on other people, nor should you feel bad about posting too much! Activity and passion is what keeps this game going.
If no one sees other people are posting (perhaps because they're waiting on others to post), then they're less incentivized to post at all. In addition, the people waiting to post would grow tired of waiting, and interest and passion would wean there as well.
Hey Ivan! I'll reply to you later today, gonna do some work first on things.
Same goes to everyone else, I'll be doing some work for a few hours so give me some time to do that please. Hopefully we can get the party together soon so you guys can RP without me!
I mean, sure the default assumption of the game is to have a specific party makeup, but a sign of a good DM is the ability to tailor things to the players. One of my favorite campaigns I've run during 3E had a party of four Wizards. ^_^
Jesus :D, he loves you! Really, tell me you are married right? :P
Hey guys just a reminder, my weekends get really busy, so I will try to at least keep up with the one post a day. If you need to, I fully trust Toothless to steer Orryn along with the story, so as to not drag you all down.
If you could try your best, that would be awesome, but DON'T STRESS over it if it's too much! It's totally okay to take the weekend off and see us again on Monday if that works better for ya. Orryn can just hang out in the background in the meantime.
I wanted to go ahead and check in to see what ya guys think so far of the game! What parts are you liking, what parts do you think need some improvement. Do you think the pace is too slow? Too fast? Do you like all of the spoiler text for the background mechanics so you have an idea what's going on behind the scenes or would you rather it left up to imagination? Anything else you'd like to mention or ask is totally on the table too.
I'd absolutely love the feedback. I want to make the game as fun as possible for you all.
Scept, I have no idea what you're talking about. XD Everyone else, fantastic job with keeping up so far. I know it can be hard sometimes, especially if life gets in the way. There's no shame in taking a hiatus until things get easier. Just PLEASE let me know in advance.

My overall impression is very good
I like your style of writing and your descriptions. Even if I start later on using spoiler I think that are a strong tool to keep the post clean, with fiction inside and just it. This allow the thread to be more readable and pleasant, not only for us but for any viewing it.
I like your suggestion of trying to be as more descriptive as possible, specially for our in character feelings, reasoning and so long and so for..this is ok, for me, just a bit more brain work to write up a post since I am not english mother tongue (so forgive my errors there will be a lots), and this is the only reason because I like do it, but, its not so easy.
What about the pace. I don't know the adventure backstory and timeline of course, I don't even know if this tavern will be the main stage for most of our at least first deeds.
Anyway, my overall impression is, just a bit slow, but maybe, its on purpose, or, just related to the PbP intrinsic nature. Otherwise I have some suggestions. If you want to let us some character interactions ok, its part of the game , fair, but as i said, in a PbP can slow the game, even its not a big problem. You can cut these interactions through some fiction that is relevant for the prosecution of the plot.
If you expect us to do something specific to go further on the adventure, don't be too optimistic :D I am a dumb sometimes and shit happens (such as a series of bad rolls). Sometimes a DM should be more obvious in the hints or simply, if you want that something happens, just run it. I am not a fan of situations that could be simply stuck forever by a bad roll, its not fair, we don't have the rule over destiny :P (and I am just brainstorming, not specifically referring to our situation), so keep in mind to always figure out different 'level' of success, e.g. lucky or nice roll= success, go further; bad roll= success but you have to do/say/ something more to go further; etc. I now its not a easy way of thinking about D&D but anyway I am open to further discuss.
So just my 2 cents and keep in mind that, as I said at the beginning, the overall impression is very nice, I like to play this PbP as long as we can.
1. Yeah, I really like the spoilers too. One of the things I hate the most is seeing all of that OOC filler in play-by-posts, since it breaks the immersion and the story so much. And I didn't want to force everyone to post in the OOC thread whenever they made rolls or whatnot, since that's just so inconvenient. This turned out to be the middle ground, so I'm very happy with it.
2. Awesome! I definately do NOT mean your posts HAVE to have this or have to be long. I know play-by-posts can be rather bland though if you just describe through action, so describing thoughts and emotions can be a great way to flesh out your character and share it with everyone involved. Don't worry Chai, you're doing a REALLY really good job so far. I'll ask you if I need any clarifications though in the future. Don't stress on it too much if it's too hard though!
3. Yeah, I did notice it was going on a bit slow. We were about 6 pages in and only reached the tavern. A big goal I like to have is to give you guys tons of time to roleplay with each other and develop your characters. The story shouldn't be the main highlight; it should be you guys, and what you do with it.
That said, I am picking up the pace a bit so things don't go stale, so thanks for calling that out!
4. I actually don't have ANY expectations on what you guys should do or how fast you should progress. I've given you ALL an adventuring hook that you can explore and take advantage of. Whether or not you pursue those hooks or go off in a completely different tangent is up to you. This game is really for you guys!
5. I'm super super glad to hear that. Hope this game does indeed go long!
Niiiice, good job!
Hopefully that won't be too much of a pain lol. The spoilers are really the important part. The bolding is really optional.
