Congrats on beating your first combat encounter! How'd ya guys like that? Was working with Zones okay or did you feel it got too complicated? How about Side Initiative, did you enjoy that or do you feel it could've been done better with regular or another variant of initiative?
Personally from my side, I felt like it went EXTREMELY well. Everyone seemed to know what was going on, where they were and where the enemy was. People seemed to have a good understanding of their ranges and very little mistakes were made. The most important to me though is speed, and we managed to finish an ENTIRE combat encounter in just about a day, holy crap. That's REALLY impressive.
Just to be clear, we're playing 5e Mechanics here, Ivanchina. Flanking is not a thing anymore.
Uh dindt play 5ed so much to notice it. thx, so NO flanking optional rules Ashley right?
On another hand just to be clear, you can have advantage on attack roll only if you have a feat (like the wolves), you are hidden, or a surprise turn? that's all?
My favorite (as some of my friends here will know) is shoving someone prone by using Extra Attack or the Shield Master feat, then striking them several times with advantage.
I will be going on a camping trip July 15-20 and will most likely not have access to WiFi or LTE Data. Perhaps we could draft a contingency to keep Orrym active during that time, just in case I can't hop on here. Open to suggestions!
No worries! I'll have him pursuing his own thing during that time. Maybe give him some in-character downtime using the rules so your time away wouldn't be completely wasted. It sounds like you'll have 5 days of downtime, is there anything you think Orryn would like to pursue during that time? Research or making money, practicing, or crafting something cool perhaps.
OH, wow, duh. Yes, you most absolutely can. When you want to in the future, just go ahead and make a post and roll it. ^^ You don't have to ask me, I'll adapt to you.
As for that last part about me declaring the result, from Variant: Inspiration on the front page:
NOTE: Due to the nature of play-by-post, the rule that inspiration has to be declared "before the outcome is determined" will be forgone. If the DM determines an outcome for a result, you may still expend your inspiration and change that outcome.
Sounds good bud! I'll put you on Downtime in the meantime. Don't worry about it now, but when you come back, you'll have a week that your character has been doing in the IG world, so you aren't completely stagnant while you're gone.
Are ya still interested in joining this campaign? We've had a considerable amount of people drop (like I expected), so we have some openings if you wish to try and hop in!
Yeah, I could jump in. It would probably be a day or two to get my character sheet together and read through at least some of the info you've got down so far. Does the cleric character work for the party or would a different class work better?
Awesome! Go ahead and create your character again, using the Character Creation rules that are posted on the front page.
You can play whatever character you'd like! Different classes give different strengths, so a party full of rogues and rangers would be far better at sneaking around than a standard "balanced" party. So do what fits your character!
That said, we don't have any clerics at the moment.

Well you are half right, it is an optional rule in the DMG but yeah. It is not a standard rule in the PHB.
Hey everyone!

Yes, there are no optional flanking rules in the game.
There are actually several ways to get advantage for an attack roll. Some of the most common is an ability or feature such as the Barbarian's Reckless Attack, an ally giving you the Help action, being hidden from a creature, being invisible, or attacking a creature with any of the following conditions: blinded, prone, restrained, paralyzed, petrified, or stunned.

Honestly, his whole deal is finding gems, and trinkets both magical and otherwise. He would probably be searching for goodies haha.
Also, Tooth, I have a few mechanic questions for you, I can pm them to you.

Hey Ashley, can I use my Quick Inspiration to gain advantage on the last stealth check? I know you already say the result but because you roll...

Sorry Tooth, I'm going to go ahead and step out. Things are getting a little busy between work and some personal goals.

Just a reminder, I am leaving for our camping trip tomorrow.
I am not sure what kind of internet access I will have, but I will try to hop on here when I can.
I should be back in my full capacity on 7/21

Hey Jund! It's been a while since ya posted, all good there?

I know the situation is sort of fluid but when we do get an updated list of players, would we be able to post it here?
I was going to post in the IC but I wasn't entirely sure how to RP the situation, not knowing who all is around haha.
