"Nobody spits curses and magic at me and gets away with it.... I'm coming to get you, sparkly fingers!" The dwarf's nostrils flaring as he glups down lungfuls to air to fuel his onwards action.
Movement and Dash action Gulrom will charge headlong round the corner where the Sparkly Goblin was last seen and try and engage him if possible. Rage will drop at the end of the turn unless he takes damage.
Gulrom dashes around the corner of the inn, decided to catch the sneaky goblin that ran away. After a split second you hear a yelp coming from where Gulrom disappeared.
Gulrom:
As soon as you turn around the corner you slam onto the goblin that was right behind the corner. He lets go a yelp and turns to face you, ready to strike you with another spell.
"Oh no you don't" Nedquin runs at full speed towards the area the goblin was last seen, he spots both the goblin and the dwarf who ran just that tiny bit faster than he did so himself. As he thinks for a second he realizes that he has no spells that would work out great in this scenario. He mumbles; "great job dwarf you're in the way" and dashes to cut the goblin off.
As he arrives behind the goblin he tries to make sure that the creature has no escape route, "It pleases me to have your help Dwarf, but please realize that we can't just straight out murder this guy" He catches his breath for a moment "If we don't get some form of information then I have a feeling this crap will happen again, somewhere"
Horkhom looks after the group chasing after the Magegoblin, realizing he's never going to reach them in time before the Goblin either dies or gets away he charges straight at the nearest group of Goblins across the square with a roar.
"LEAVE THOSE PEOPLE BE AND FIGHT ME, YE LITTLE COWARDS!"
Horkhom dashes towards the nearest groups of still alive goblins. There aren't many left, and he can only see a couple running away towards the southern gate.
Surrounded by Gulrom and Nedquin, the goblin with the staff makes a surprisingly nimble move. Turning around to face the dwarf, he zaps another ray of frost at him, then without even looking if it hit, he dodges to the side, avoiding any possible attack by the two heroes, and runs towards the back of the inn.
The two goblin chased by Horkohm, hearing the shout of the lone dwarf, turn around, and with a wicked smile attack him from afar, one zap of ice and an arrow flying towards him. The brave dwarf falls under the combined strike of the two projectiles, and with a laugh the two goblins disappear behind the barn.
G4 Attack on Gulrom: 23 Damage: 5 (hits, cold damage, Gulrom speed is reduced by 10) G5 Attack on Horkohm: 13 Damage: 6 (hits, cold damage, Horkohm speed is reduced by 10) G6 Attack on Horkohm: 21 Damage: 7 (hits)
Horkohm is unconscious!
Movement:
G4 to AK2 (doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity as he used disengage) G5 and G6 disappear behind the barn
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The daggers ready in his hands, Marsilius procedes toward the external corner of the inn, crouching like an animal as he intends to remain out of the goblin sight for as long as possible.
Movement: MG to AB3
Once there he realizes there's no way he can reach the goblin and attack him before the blue creature retaliates. "Damn. He'll get away.." he mutters The man turn his head towards the giant man-popsicle in Y5 and tries to examine him from the distance (or gather as much info as he could)
Marsilius ducks behind the corner of the inn, while examining from the distance the ice covered villager.
You clearly see that the villager is not completely frozen, rather covered by some sort of ice sheet that sill allows him to move. However he's just standing there, wobbling slightly and staring directly in front of him, where Ash currently is. Whether he's looking at Ash or just staring in that direction you cannot tell as the villager is facing away from you.
What you do notice however is that there's no blood on the ground or on the body, even though the metal object is stuck directly into his heart.
The dwarf barely has chance to catch up with the magically inclined goblin before its fast feet take it out of his range again. His head darts in the direction of his escaping quarry, and then back to the dragonborn standing only a few feet away.
"New plan! Let's make that one" his thumb jabs sharply over his shoulder "...ours." His steely blue eyes glimmer for a moment, empahsising the slightly maniacal grin that spreads across his face. He turns, and breaks into a run shouting back over his shoulder "I'll cut off his escape, you make sure he doesn't."
Movement and Dash : AD2 to AM1 (via Row 0 if possible to avoid Opportunity Attacks if possible)
The goblin shrieks as the dwarf zips past him, expecting to be slashed. Seeing that he's still in one piece, he grins and shouts at Gulrom, as the dwarf tries to cut the goblin's escape.
"Couldn't you just answer my questions" He mumbles and looks around bewildered for just a second. He nods to the dwarf and quickly decides on a course of action. As he runs towards the goblin, he gets right up neck to neck and grabs hold of the goblins arms. "Let's see if this old body of mine still got what it takes"
He utters a few words in Sylvan: "What are you and why are you here.. What is this end that is near?" While he's trying to force the goblin to answer the questions.
The goblin bursts out in another almost manic laughter, as he nimbly dodges Nedquin and Gulrom to turn yet another time around the corner of the inn. As he does that though you hear the laugh abruptly stop and a THUMP.
As you turn the corner to check what happened, you see a member of the militia holding a bloodied sword, with an exultant smile on his face, standing above the body of the goblin, dead from a gash in his throat.
"Bloody goblin, that'll teach him!", the guard says, spitting on the goblin's body.
There's now an eerie silence as the battle ends. After helping out Horkohm, you gather in front of the Hearty Trout, all around you are the villagers and some guards covered in ice, standing still in the unnaturally cold air of the night, their gaze fixed in front of them. Vryssa and Walde come out of the inn, their eyes wide open in an expression of horror.
Only a minute or two pass when you hear hurried steps coming from the north. A female dwarf, her panicked face dirty of soot, comes running towards you all, shouting: "Gerden.. I cannot find him! He's gone!".
We now drop from initiative. Feel free to make a post with your character's reactions and thoughts. For the sake of brevity, either you or one of the militia men help Horkohm get back up.
With the silence now descending on the village, and his quarry ahead of him slain Gulrom inhales and exhales hard, recovering from both the burst of activity and as a way to push down his inner rage. He looks down at the deceased caster in front of him, and then to Nedquin, "Well turns out, ee was neither of ours, eh boy." He turns, and rests the flat of his blade on shoulder and tightens his others hand around the bedsheet. "You coming?"
He shuffles back to the area outside the inn. The pale light glints off the strange icy statues of some of the villagers, and as he walks passed them, he faces creases into a mixture of confusion, incredulity and awe. "Well, that's something." He stops in front of one and reaches out his hand, but pauses before his fingertips his truly touching the icy covering.. and shudders. "Ohhh no, that's for someone else". A panicked cry shakes him out of his focused state.
"Gerden.. I cannot find him! He's gone!"
A fellow dwarf approaches, her head flicking back and forth in a state of anguish and panicked confusion. Gulrom spends a moment looking around at the others regrouping outside the Inn, before sighing a little and stepping forward in his unusual attire.
"Hey hey..." He momentarily forgets that the hand he raises to attract her attention is also the one that is securing his garment, before recovering his wits with a startled glance around. "er, sorry 'bout that. Who's Gerden? Where did you see them last?"
"...And there goes my chance to maybe understand what was going on" mumbles Maegrim sheating the daggers and standing up. He's still on alert his nerves tensed, but after a few moments where the silence after the battle fill the air his muscles relaxes as the combat adrenaline rush slowly fades from his body.
Walking back to the inn he gazes at the other people that joined the battle, not recognizing anyone. His thoughts: "Adventurers, or perhaps mercenaries? .. and a noble.." glancing at the man in the sumptuous robe who was examining the iced person.
"Gerden.. I cannot find him! He's gone!" That cry pierces the silence and in a moment Marsilius's hands dart back to the daggers before realizing that the voice was desperate; definetly not a war cry.
Marsilius walks towards the two dwarfs and hopes that something will shed some light on the events of this night...
Horkohm felt like he was looking down into a well, every sound was strangely muted and seemed to come from a long, long way. "Gerden", the Waters surface in the well rippled, or was it even water? It seemed to be getting brighter. And with the brightness came a rushing sound. "He's gone!" Horkohm felt like he was falling, falling and coming closer to the ripples, he'd impact the Water!
With a shuddering gasp Horkohm came to his senses, lying on his back under the starry night sky. "Whattse! Whodid?! Wha?! Fekkin' little!" With a cough Horkohm slowly got up on his knee and then stood up shakily, looking around to get his bearing.
With the eerie silence snapping Ash out of his intense scrutiny, he glances around the battlefield, searching the bodies of the goblins to see if the magic user and the staff he was using is among the dead.
“Such magic is unusual for goblins” he thinks to himself. “The staff must have been enchanted with powerful magic and may reveal a way to free these villagers without hurting them”.
Ash then puts his hands in front of his face and shouts out across the village square,“Has anyone see a staff, dropped by one of the goblins?”
