"Hey, pit fights are legal!" Brock would say quickly, almost looking offended. "You gotta start somewhere if you wanna be a professional fighter you know.. and I already have a small fan base" He would continue as he puffs out his chest. "Plus, the coin isn't terrible for a few hours of work... " Brock would mention as his hand rests on his coin pouch. "That does remind me.. I uhh.. have to take care of something real quick... It shouldn't take me more than an hour" He would mention before quickly grabbing another scrap of food and heading out the door.
"Nothing wrong with a little challenge to keep yourself sharp."
"We are going to need to find something to do. I do not think Kyve will allow us to stay here for free much longer." Valen says making a plate of food for himself. "Yes, try not to get into too much trouble out there,"he adds as Brock departs.
Brock would just not and move out the door, disappearing into the streets.
for DM
Brock is going to send half of his gold to his sisters, looking for a postal service or something. Since he has been sending letters and gold to them over the years, he would be familiar with the process... but I am not lol!
That's awesome - consider it done. A courier service exists just outside the Cracks which serves this purpose. It is very reliable, albeit a bit slow and it takes a charge for it but not too much. I'm going to assume you come straight back and I'm going to plough on as if you do so.
for everyone
After you've all had a chance to eat and freshen up Kaed and Marike lead the conversation around to matters involving you all going about your business. Any attempts to talk about the previous evening are deflected and the party are left on the street outside as Kaed and Marike depart for whatever the day has in store for them. The morning is well underway in the Cracks, the streets are busier than you've ever seen them at this time. People are gossiping everywhere and it is clear emotions are running high.
Where would you like to go on this fine morning in the capital?

After an hour, Brock would return back to the group. "Alright, just had some stuff to do.. had to see a guy about a thing..." He would say quickly. "So what are we going to do today?" He would say rubbing his hands together.
"I uhh... was join to see about buying some equipment to buy what got burnt up in the fire... but it is so busy out there I didn't bother pushing through the crowds.. the streets are very crowded. Everyone just wants to talk about the fire last night..." Brock would say looking at the ground before looking to Wallis. "Pit fights are an honest days work... but I I suppose we can look for something else... you got any ideas?" He would ask looking to her.
"Protect for merchants is my first thought," Wallis replies with a heavy sigh. "How about a caravan going outside the city or maybe a job board," she offers with a shrug. "Lila what....do you do exactly," she then asks with a soft smile.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Lila shrugs. "Mostly pick up odd jobs here and there. I...don't really have a group to run with, anymore," she adds with a touch of sadness. "Most people here don't recognize my face right now."
As the party discuss options in the middle of the street the noise levels rises off to one side, a group of three local men are remonstrating loudly with a pair of Watchmen who have entered the area. Although it is not clear what sparked off this particular exchange both sides look angry and as the party look one of the locals spits on the floor near to the Watchman who takes it as a challenge and makes a grab for the man who just manages to evade his grasp. The other men look on in horror as the second guard draws his mace and brandishes it at them. A nearby woman insults the mace-wielding Watchman for needing a weapon to resolve an argument with unarmed men. He responds verbally with a very coarse phrase that sees the woman fly into a rage and rush towards him looking as though she intends to scratch his eyes out. One of the men originally in the argument steps between them to protect her but in a moment of senseless violence takes a blow from the mace on the side of the head before slumping to the floor.
All hell breaks loose, whistles sound as more Watchmen arrive bringing the total number up to six, all now with weapons drawn, three times as many locals surge towards them, several with improvised weapons and a few with daggers, seconds later the first local dies as a mace catches him in the neck, a Watchman goes down under the attacks of several club wielding folk who then get overwhelmed by a trio of watchmen working together effectively.
More whistles sound in the near distance although out of sight, the party have only avoided the conflict by luck so far, at the moment they could all slip back into the alleyway behind them but the option may not last for long...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You know what... I am going to regret this... But I am tired of these watch members beating up on my people..." Brock would say to the others as he rolls his neck and shoulders with a few loud cracks before running froward and leaping towards one of the guards, attempting slam his elbow hard into the distracted guard and knock them to the ground to give the towns folk an advantage.
Attack: 7 Damage: 8
(Using flurry of blows)
Attack: 13 Damage: 6 Attack: 12 Damage: 7
(Since I was pretty sure the first attack missed... there for I wasn't going to be able to use my bonus action to grapple.. I used flurry of blows instead if that is cool...)
****Guard needs to make a DC 13 dex save or fall prone
Brock wades in, the first elbow swing misses, the second likewise but the guard steps in thinking Brock to lack training as the other locals do, only to walk directly onto the end of a massive punch which puts him on the ground in one go following a comical spin on the spot. The cheer from the locals draws a lot of attention to the pit fighter and two more guards start to bear down on him but the press of bodies means they can't quite get close enough to attack him one more local drops to the ground bleeding in the meantime.
More whistles and another group of six Watchmen arrive on the screen as well as a man in more ornate armour holding a staff, as he takes in the scene his aristocratic looking face goes bleak and he calls out in a deafening bellow "Halt, in the name of Pholtus god of Light and Law I command you, resist and it will go harder for you."
If you don't surrender at this point you have two choices - run back into the Cracks while the Watch are occupied or fight - there are currently 8 Watchmen up and fighting and the Cleric of Pholtus accompanying them, there are approximately 15 of the folks of the Cracks embroiled in the melee as well but many of them are injured or losing their resolve.

Seeing Brock dive into the fray, Valen smirks and shakes his head. He turns to casually head down the alley. "Well, that escalated quickly," he says to the others. "I guess will now have something to do later to help our friend there out of whatever cell they drag him off to." Continuing away from the commotion, the form of the noble begins to slightly change - clothes look more of the commonfolk, blonde hair looking less perfect.
(When it appears safe to do so, or if the guards and the townsfolk are focused on one another, Valen will change his appearance.)
"How about you tell your men to quit killing us for no reason!' Brock would shout while keeping his eyes open, reading another set of blows if any of the guards look like they are going to strike him or a nearby villager.
(Attack rolls if anyone tries anything hostile against him or anyone nearby.) Attack: 18 Damage: 6 Flurry of blows Attack: 16 Damage: 8 Attack: 19 Damage: 7

Lila starts to say something, realizes it would be totally hypocritical, and settles for. "Stay out of sight of the Watch."
