"Welp..... That guy was not no help" Brock would say cracking his neck with a long rotation of his head. "He said he already searched most the streets for our guy and didn't find anything.... I guess we could always check downstairs..." He would say with a stomp of his boot against the road beneath his feet. "We could take a slip down into the cracks... see what turns up?"
(OOC - going to jump in and say the cracks aren't like a second city still functioning below - they are more like caverns where parts of a street might still exist but will probably only run in a straight line for a little way then some proper ruined underground cavern like tunnels, open spaces etc before another little segment of ancient ruins etc etc you can't walk up and down streets and nobody lives there through choice. You might find the odd brave/crazy person down there but it is usually quiet. We'll see if it stays like that though... evil DM chuckle)

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
(OOC: Whatever they are, Brock is thinking we need to check below since it sounds like the man with many more eyes on the street and resources has already investigated the surface up here better than what they could do... or at least better than Brock could do. I am assuming that Wallis cannot like... sniff something that belonged to the guy and then use her super ranger abilities to sniff them out and track them lol!)
"Why don't we exhaust efforts up here before we need to venture bleow? Maybe, Kyve's men overlooked something in the room he was staying, above Carrick's I believe it was."
OOC: LMAO I'm half elf not half blood hound!! Track tracks sure but I doubt very much else at level 3. Favored enemy giants, favored terrain grassland.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Local knowledge gets you outside Carricks in under two minutes. The shop appears to be a general store but it is very grimy and uninviting, there are a few shifty looking people leaving counting coins out to each other as they go when you approach. They look like they are probably going to spend those coins in one of the taverns immediately and pay you no attention whatsoever.
As you examine the place from the front it is clear that there are a number of different living spaces above the shop, as you peer round to the left-hand side of the building you can see a series of rickety steps going up to each floor and two doorways to a floor, from here there is no indication of which room might be Glandon's but an old woman is hanging washing from the middle of the three floors onto a line that spans the building and it's neighbour. She does not seem to have noticed you yet. The alleyway between the two buildings is empty, dark and about eight feet wide.

"Excuse me ma'am," Wallis calls out very politely with a soft smile. "We're looking for a friend," she adds (insert Glandon's description and name). "You haven't seen him by chance," she adds still smiling.
OOC: I'll roll persuasion or deception if necessary.

"Don't be givin im no trouble if e is in there, ain't seen im inna while troof be told." The old lady points up a floor to the top of the building at the right hand door. "I mean it, I'll be watchin" she threatens before return g to her clothesline.

The staircase is rickety, but you all safely manage, you do wonder how the old lady gets up and down though...
As you stand outside the indicated door you can see nothing through a solid door which is closed and the window is filthy, all you can see is the place is messy looking, a bed is in view of the window but not much else can be seen.
What is the plan?
Also sorry for the delay, crazy work week.

"Sounds good, let's check it out" Brock would say with a grin.
"I vote for the room," Wallis nods.

"No, trouble ma'am. We're looking to check in ob him is all," Wallis replies moving towards the steps and to the door the old woman indicated.
Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
"Oh, of course not, ma'am. No trouble here." Valen says climbing the stairs. "We too, are concerned about his lack of being around... truth be told."
Brock would just smile at the woman, giving her a small wave as he continued up the stairs behind his companions.

"Any of you have a way to open this door quietly?" Brock will ask as a small grin spreads across his face... "I can open it... less quietly otherwise"
