The area, 9, is just behind the door. Water has flooded the floor but you can all see that this room is hand made which changes from the other rooms you have seen in the cave.
Just in front stairs go up. You can't see the end of the stairs. Just above the door leading up are runes carved by what seems to be a claw.
Noche reads, " Legacy of Arondarumalin Killiantherdus." there is a bit of awe in his voice. He turns to the group and says " This was the high priest of the Dragon God. "
Talon would go wide-eyed as the door opens and the new room is revealed. "Arondarumalin Killiantherdus" Talon would repeat in the voice of Noche as he one again casts light on his crossbow and steps into the room.
Hoyle notices that in the room just before them and under the murky water are tiles with runes and what looks like pressure plates.
Probably a trap but you can see no holes in the walls or things on the ceiling that might work for the trap. Magical maybe but your knowledge is not good enough for that.
Noche grins and says, "Big priest of metallic Dragons. Silver man they called him a long time ago. Part of our legends. He opposes Tiamat when he can." he spits the name as if his mouth got a sour taste just saying it. "He died a long time ago but left messages and artifacts to counter the evil of Tiamat and her cults."
Talon would let out a small squawk as he was prevented from entering the room. As the runes are pointed out, the kenku would take few steps backwards. Talon would then try to cast light on one of the submerged runes on the ground and look to the others.
Arric looks at himself in heavy cumbersome armor, and then at the distance from one side of the tiles to the other. (Could he just long jump it? Basically athletics instead of dex save. If not)
Talon casts mage hand but the pressure it applies is not enough. He resorts to moving stealthily around them taking care not to touch any of them. He joins up with Joshua at the stairs.
Aric jumps straight over them and Joshua and Talon have to back up to leave him some room.
The jumps is about 4 meters (that's about 12 feet more or less) not a hard jump but you don't have a high ceiling and running speed.
Tait examines waits for all the water the calm down to study the runes. (Roll whatever skills you want related to what you are looking for.)
(Damn it, my last post didn't register sorry all )
Tait moves among the rune stones studying them and with that nagging feeling that he should know about those. He as almost made it to the the stairs when it dawns on him.
"Evocation magic. The runes will make dragon-fire fill the room. This is something about them that makes your blood sing. The magic isn't evil but protective."
Once you have learned this you feel safer about the place.
With Hoyle joining the other at the base of the stairs you are ready to move forward.

(Yeah, the puzzle was a nice touch)
Talon casts light on the rune and all of a sudden the oily darkness goes away.
When Joshua presses the tile the door slides open with a grinding noise that makes all of you cringe.

"That name is a mouthful. What are the legends you know about the priest Noche? Does anyone else know anything about him?"
Hoyle will look around to see if there are any traps or other hidden things in the room and stairway.
Perception: 19
Talon would go wide-eyed as the door opens and the new room is revealed. "Arondarumalin Killiantherdus" Talon would repeat in the voice of Noche as he one again casts light on his crossbow and steps into the room.
Hoyle notices that in the room just before them and under the murky water are tiles with runes and what looks like pressure plates.

He opposes Tiamat when he can." he spits the name as if his mouth got a sour taste just saying it. "He died a long time ago but left messages and artifacts to counter the evil of Tiamat and her cults."
Hoyle puts a hand on Talon's shoulder stopping him. One of his foot almost down on a tile.
Close.
Talon would let out a small squawk as he was prevented from entering the room. As the runes are pointed out, the kenku would take few steps backwards. Talon would then try to cast light on one of the submerged runes on the ground and look to the others.
The light doesn't do anything to these runes.
After the runes are pointed out, Arric asks Noche, “Are these Draconic as well? What do they say?”
Noche looks at the Runes taking care not to go to close. He reads the runes and says " Boom. No step on them."
( if you want to cross you ll have to do a Dex sav DC 10 or use one of you abilities. I m ready to hear all ideas. )
Just in front of you are stairs leading up. You can't see much but there doesn't seem to be runes anywhere there.
Dex save to cross 24
(if someone non dextrous has no way of crossing, Joshua will inspire them)
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Talon would look at the runes and tap his beak as he pauses a moment before trying to cross.
(would mage handbe able to trigger the runes from a safe distance away? Allowing us to walk through? If not here is my DeX save 17)
Arric looks at himself in heavy cumbersome armor, and then at the distance from one side of the tiles to the other. (Could he just long jump it? Basically athletics instead of dex save. If not)
Dex save 1
Athletics if used 15
Tait will read the runes to see if there is anything else that can learned from them.
How far would it be to jump over them, or do we think that would trigger the trap as well?
Talon casts mage hand but the pressure it applies is not enough. He resorts to moving stealthily around them taking care not to touch any of them. He joins up with Joshua at the stairs.

(I guess that would be arcana)
Arcana roll 15
(If he doesn't learn anything, he'll try to carefully move around them)
Dex roll 12
Hoyle will try to avoid the runes using his agility:
DEX save: 13
((whew))
