Rees crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "I'll make a deal with you, whichever is responsible for making this..." she gestured to her unnatural glow "happen, undo it and we'll all make nice, friendly introductions." Her hand rested on the back of the chair that had been pulled out for her but didn't sit quite yet. First they needed to prove themselves trustworthy. "You scold the large one for polishing other's weapons, did no one tell you it's rude to cast spells on strangers?"
"Not exactly spying when you're making a spectacle of yourself," she muttered, rolling her eyes. She sat, or perhaps perched was a better word, and looked back at Arxius who was standing behind her. "I'm Rees, this is Arxius. We hadn't realized there was quite so much, uh, competition for this particular posting."
"No one ever told you it's rude to cast on strangers?" Arxius countered. She lingered behind her friend before finally taking a seat. Her posture rigid. Remaining wary of their new companions.
Until there is a better understanding of what this job entails, I'm not going to worry about competition. I'm putting my faith in Torm's guidance, personally. Who knows how many people the job requires or how many might be wlling to undertake it once the specifics are known.

Chatra just bust out laughing and reaches in his bag. You see him searching for something and then suddenly he slaps it down on the table in front of everyone.
hahah ! Well I don’t know how many saw it before me but there won’t be anymore competition coming. I took the poster with me.
then you notice that it is the poster “looking for adventurers” that he just slapped down on the table in front of you.
Talien gets up on the arrival of the hark and moves to it (with a rag still in one hand) and turns to Alten once he hears 'war' spoken and says. I like war as he starts to pet the hawk now in the room. After about 30 seconds he moves over by the rouge and slips her dagger out of the sheath, and starts to clean and polish it as he walks back to his seat, not noticing her demeanor towards him.
Grombrindal stands up walks to an open area of the INN and pushes 2 tables together. Grabs a bucket from the bar keep quickly has his hawk perch up on a rafter amd holding the bucket upside down. Then casts Light inside the bucket to make a migshift spotlight on the table.. Grom flips Chatra a silver piece.
"Chatra if you would be soo kind fill this room with sound and dance and let the people be marry!" While we wait for our man to arrive let's enjoy this time..
Grom motions to the bar keep and orders enough food for the table
”Oi, big guy,” Arxius grunted at Talien, her hand moving to unclip the holster storing one of her hand axes on her belt. Her other hand pressed firmly on Rees’ shoulder, squeezing firmly to try and stop her from reacting. “That does not belong to you. I suggest you return it to my friend.”
hey Talien why dont u give the lady back her dagger... we need to establish a Rule here that yes I'm sure most people do not mind u cleaning and polishing there weapons for them... but from now on u need to ASK the weapons owner before u touch it... how would u feel if I just walked up and took a sword off your back?
Talien, where you come from, do you usually take strangers weapons, tools or whatever, and work on them?
Just to be clear, here in Faerun one does not take personal belongings from another without permission. People tend to get hostile when you take their stuff.

In the background in the middle of the inn you all can hear the little halfling (Chatra) singing a song about a ranger and rogue on the run. Hiding in the corner and afraid of their own shadows and how about how they seem to be no fun. And then the song leads into a tale about a halfling bard and wizard dwarf and how their only half the size of a half elf paladin. But best of all is when sings about the war forged fighter and finishes it all off about how he made sure all their weapons were polished clean. Then he bows and walks back to the table.
thanks for the coin, it’s not often I see a dwarf willing to part With theirs. So I guess we’re all in this together now. Because this tale has begun
I do 3 things, it is what I know. War, make war weapons, and clean war equipment. he stops cleaning the dagger and offers it back to the owner not understanding the offence he has made. It goes in a cycle, make and clean weapons and equipment, then make war. We are not at war so this is what I know. It is all that I know.......but I do like to collect coins. he then pulls out his coins and starts to polish them.
it's not often you meet a Dwarf who has spent most his life around Humans and other magic users.. when u go off to study the Arcane arts u dont see many dwarfs.
Many thanks. Baliteke zure bizarra luzea eta distiratsua izatea.
Growing up in Luskan, I met dwarves occassionally. Hizkuntza asko ikasi nuen ulertzen neure burua egiteko. They would come out of their homes in the Spine of the World, bringing forged goods for sell and for trade. You are correct in that I've never encountered a Dwarven mage. What led you to study the arcane, if I may enquire?

Well, hopefully you are willing to expand your horizons a bit. There's a whole world out there that does not involve war.
I'm all for using the tool of war when it is needed. Indeed, it is a primary tool of my god. However, like any good craftsman, I prefer to have a variety of tools at hand in order to select the exact one required for a given task.

A fair point, Lady. Would that I could end the enchantment, nothing would make me happier. Alas, it is beyond my meager power.
to Chatra
Good sir, would you oblige?
"Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth." A Camus
Chatra responds to Rees as he giggles
do not worry it only A short while. Should vanish in about 5 more seconds. No one ever told you it’s rude to hide and spy on people have they?
as he finishes speaking the blue glow around Rees quickly fades away.
so where did your friend run off to? I didn’t quite catch her with my spell.

Looking askance at Chatra
That's an . . . interesting . . . tactic. Afraid of a little bit of fair competition, my friend?
"Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth." A Camus
Chatra just smiles and then replies
not scared of competition at all. I just don’t like my pockets to be empty of coin.
Torm teaches 'all is fair in love and war' but I don't know that a job falls into the category of War.
