Talien leaves Rurik and moves over to see the crowd that Shake has gathered and moves to stand near him. Upon hearing the Meepos song he will salute him with a fist to his chest and stand still for the entire song.
Grom would find himself to the store and want to buy more smoke... and then make a Beeline to the bath house... and soak for a good long while, and hopefully enjoy a pipe and a drink and just relax...
Assuming Alten comes back and sees Rees talking to Bozak, he will move up to Grom.
Didn't you arrange to contact Bozack on our return? Suspicious that he just happens to get back from his "other business" he had to get to and just happens to be waiting, especially since we still have a few more days to fulfill the agreement.
I assume this convo happens either at the bathhouse or walking back to the INN "Yes it is rather odd, that he is here waiting... and i for 1 am not sure we should be so quick to give him these items... "

It could happen any time, but it would be a more private conversation.
Given the trouble we’ve had with shapeshifters who want the wand, we need to try to be sure it’s him. How did you arrange to make contact?

So do it from across the common room. Turn your back to him or cover your mouth so he can't lip read. Send to the person we met named Carslile Bozak. If it's him, he'll hear it and we'll know.
"Problem with shape shifters. Code word is Babies. Come over for exchange and give code if ready to pay."
Shake shrugs off Garon's suggestion of a bath and goes out to the square to partake in the festivities. He will try to endear himself to the locals by singing to them and performing acrobatic dances.
After a song, or two you actually gather a small group of mostly children and a few elderly folk. It seems like they don't get much entertainment around here. Roll a performance check and let's see how you fair in front of this small crowd.
Noticing the crowd, Shake plays a few dramatic notes on his pipe and starts singing a song in a long forgotten language, the meaning of which he does not understand. While singing his body moves rhythmically. Performance = 24
When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius Age of Aquarius Aquarius Aquarius
Harmony and understanding Sympathy and trust abounding No more falsehoods or derisions Golden living dreams of visions Mystic crystal revelation And the mind's true liberation Aquarius Aquarius
When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius Age of Aquarius Aquarius Aquarius Aquarius Aquarius
Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
Oh, let it shine, c'mon Now everybody just sing along Let the sun shine in Open up your heart and let it shine on in When you are lonely, let it shine on Got to open up your heart and let it shine on in And when you feel like you've been mistreated And your friends turn away Just open your heart, and shine it on in
Bravo! The crowd cheers and grows bigger the deeper you go into your song. They actually throw you a few flowers and some copper as well. You end up with 29 copper.
Giddy with his success Shake introduces a new song. "This song is a work in progress, so please don't be too harsh. I call it, 'Meepo: The Hero of The Sunless Citadel'"
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh It must have been cold there in that cave To never have sunlight on your face You were content to let me shine, laughed at my jokes You always walked a step behind
So I was the one with all the glory While you were the one with all the strength A beautiful face without a name for so long A beautiful smile to hide the pain
Did Meepo ever know that he's my hero And everything I would like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle For Meepo's the wind beneath my wings
It might have appeared to go unnoticed But I've got it all here in my heart I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it I would be nothing without you
Did Meepo ever know that he's my hero? he's everything I wish I could be I could fly higher than an eagle For Meepo's the wind beneath my wings
Did I tell Meepo he's my hero? He's everything, everything I wish I could be Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle For Meepo's the wind beneath my wings 'Cause Meepo is the wind beneath my wings
Oh, the wind beneath my wings Meepo, Meepo, Meepo is the wind beneath my wings Fly, fly, fly away, Meepo lets me fly so high Oh, Meepo, Meepo, the wind beneath my wings Oh, Meepo, Meepo, the wind beneath my wings
Fly, fly, fly high against the sky So high I almost touch the sky Thank you, thank you Thank Meepo, the wind beneath my wings
As he concludes he wipes a tear away and says, "He really did laugh at all my jokes."
Performance = 23
The crowd applauds and cheers again! Some of the children begin to sing along towards the end and once the crowd begins to disperse after throwing you some more coin (9 copper) you hear little voices chanting, "Meepo.. Meepo.. he's our hero!"
DM Note: Thank you for immortalizing Meepo! Was going to grant inspiration, but looks like you have it already? Don't remember if you used your last one or not. If you didn't you can transfer your inspiration to another PC.
@SDC @Shaz: There isn't a bathhouse in town - it's not quite big enough, so you just have access to the shared facility at the Old Boar Inn (your current lodgings). So, assuming this convo takes place, before you go to the General Store in which case message spell would work (provided that's the real Bozak). Rees is still talking to Bozak at this point...
Bozak's face suddenly furrows and he says rather audibly to Rees, "Your friends want me to say "babies".. not sure why they they are huddled over there whispering like children rather than approaching me.. slightly irritating, but I understand people in your line of work can be somewhat.. quirky. You must be slightly crazy to want to fight all sorts of monsters and trudge through grime and gore for a bit of gold".
High on his success, Shake runs over to Talien standing in the crowd. "Did you see the crowd's response? They loved it. They even gave me some coin." Shake brandishes his new coppers. "Lets go get a drink. It's on me." Shake turns towards the Inn then a thought strikes him. "Can you drink ale?"
Grom would head to the general store first as he needs smoke before his bath...
If questioned about the journey from the lady grom would insist it was a success and he would return after as bath...
Ok.. we can just say you went while Alten is in the bath...
You find a sign on the door that reads, "Leaving early for Midsomer Festival.. Find me at my sales tent in town square.."
Assuming you head there you find Kerowyn under a white tent with a few tables decorated with white linen and displaying festival wear. There are head bands made of flowers and necklaces and bracelets made of wooden beads. As you approach to ask for tobacco Kerowyn smiles widely and indeed asks you, "Grom! Did you find my grandchildren? How to they fair? Why aren't they with you?"

I can drink. I have had health potions before Shake.
Shake considers this before responding. "Perhaps asking after your ability to drink was not the most judicious use of my words. Let me try a different tack. Talien, do you enjoy drinking ale? Can you become inebriated? Regardless, would you like an ale?" As he talks, Shake tries to direct Talien towards the inn.

I have not had ale before. I do not know about this.... inebriated. Talien seems to struggle with the final word. I will try an ale Shake, what kind of potion is this?

Shake's face is split by an enormous smile. "My friend, how to describe ale? I know, let me sing you a little song about it. It's originally in dwarfish, but I think I can translate it to common." As they enter the Inn, shake raises his voice and starts booming to the crowd:
In some of my songs I have casually mentioned The fact that I like to drink ale This little song is more to the point Roll out the barrel and listen to this tale
I like ale, it makes me a jolly good fellow I like ale, it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow Whiskey's too rough, Champagne costs too much, vodka makes my mouth wanna bail This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like ale
My wife often frowns when we're out on the town And I'm wearing a suit and a tie She's sipping vermouth and she thinks I'm uncouth When I yell as the waiter goes by
I like beer, it makes me a jolly good fellow I like beer, it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow Whiskey's too rough, Champagne costs too much, vodka makes my mouth wanna bail This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like ale
Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene And I went to a place so sublime Aw, the water was hale and tasted like ale Then they turned it all into wine (sad face)

Hopefully this will result in a large musical number involving the entire town marching into the tavern and dancing around the tables while Shake sings enthusiastically (if badly off key) while jumping from table to table. If the towns people are enjoying the song enough they should all repeat the phrase "I like ale" every time shake sings it.

She puts a hand to her head, "I can't leave the stand at the moment, please step inside," she says as she pulls a chair out and almost falls into it. As you step under the tent behind the tables you see an extra chair near her.
"Please tell me what happened.. It has been weeks now and I'd prefer not to forestall the inevitable."

Hahaha.. sure, since the crowd is feeling inspired by your performance (thanks to the previous high rolls) they are willing to follow you in this little number. The townsfolk are mostly farmers and are used to signing in the fields to pass the time, so it's not actually a bad performance! They even join in beyond "I like ale!"
Garon's mouth falls open behind the bar as you enter followed by what seems like a third of the town. He pleads with you to "Please Stop!" though when you jump up on the table and runs over in an attempt to stop you. When you finally calm down someone yells drunkenly from the crowd, "Where's our ale then?!"
