Grom you slowly come to consciousness. Your eyes flutter open and you groan as you have a splitting headache. You try to sit up, but immediately fall back. You put the back of your hand to your forehead and find it covered in blood. You groan silently from the pain.
After a few moments you are able to sit up. You look around and find that your backpack and axe are missing. Your tucked into the northwestern corner of the goblin pantry you went into with Chatra, but you don't remember how you got there.
Wait. Chatra. Where is chatra?
It slowly comes back to you... Chatra started acting funny, he said he heard a noise, then lead you to the pantry and asked you to alarm the door...
OG Grom will attempt to stand up.. and get his directions figured out.... notices his head is bleeding.. tastes the potion still on his breath... trying to piece together what happened... if he gets to his feet he wants to look around see what's going on with this room? 12
You look to the north and south and see the walls of this chamber are stacked halfway to the ceiling with ill-made barrels, boxes, and crates full of stale water, wine, and food. A clear path allows easy access between the west and east doors. The western door which you entered by is still ajar, the eastern door is closed. You hear voices coming from the outside of the room to the west — one male, two female — but, can’t quite make out (or maybe remember?) who the voices belong to just yet.
Grom will make his way towards the open door and the voices. Dex check to stume towards door: 21
I'm gonna assume that will get Grom at least to the door if not stumbling thru it
Grom, despite the crack on your head, you are able to get up and make it to the doorway. You stumble and catch yourself on the frame and poke your head out in time to see Rees approaching.
I step forward, grab the symbol of Torm, kneel down, say the prayer, and put 2 HP into her.
Unfortunately, I've already used a good bit of my power today.
"Ah.. that's much better. Thank you.. Alten is it? That's just the boost I needed," Corkie looks visibly healthier after you heal her and she straightens up a bit.
"I don't want to cause problems friend, but if any harm comes to my cell mate here. I'm not sure how I will react. Negatively would be a good guess." spoken deadpan. Maintaining the same alert sitting position. Making no movement.
(Just saw this post, sorry for the delay)
Talien would remember this and once the conversation moved on a bit he would pull out a cloth and then his sword under the pretense of cleaning it (while still actually cleaning it, with the most of his attention on the newcomer with red skin and 'prisoners' in the room.)
Yes. Sorry, I forgot that we apparently have not met yet. Alten Johan, a servant of Torm. My colleague in this expedition, Talien. The Kobold there that came in with us is named Meepo.
I'm not sure where the rest of our group has gotten to. We've a Dwarf named Grombindal, an human named Rees, an Elf named Arxius, and a Halfling named Chatra.

The door to the pantry? It was already partially open... enough for your head isto be sticking out of it... you see Rees heading towards you.

Certainly. He's turned around, just behind the wall a short ways from the Goblin Prison door headed south.
Guess you were more out of it than I thought. As I said to your friend here, three days ago I went to the Temple of Pellor to try and procure some holy water for this venture. In there I met. . . well, you or your twin. She introduced herself as Corkey, the priestest of the temple. The price she wanted was more than I could afford, but she offered to supply me with some if I would agree to try to retreive a magical apple from the goblin's tree.

"My twin? I have no twin and I was locked down her the past month! What in the name of Pelor!? Someone was in my temple posing as me?! That is preposterous I would never charge for my services... especially if it were a fellow servant of a righteous god."
Someone was impersonating you for some reason. What do they want or hope to gain by being you in the temple? Do you have any enemies?
"Enemies? By Pelor's light, No! ...I am a simple town priest... though in my younger years I did bring Pelor's light to some vile creatures of darkness. But, it has been ages since. I mostly just pray for Pelor's blessings for local harvests and tend to minor wounds these days. I can't think of a reason why someone would want to impersonate me... unless it was to abuse my position and relationships with the townsfolk."
"Given your long list of questions it would seem we are the least of your problems. I still mean to make it to that Grove. I am not much of a fighter, but am learned in some healing arts. Let me go with you. I will provide whatever support I can. It's the least I can do."
Mayhap you and your friend here can sneak back to town and make contact with Commander Felosial. We destroyed some of the Bramble Men and provided her with the evidence she wanted. Tell her about my encounter with your twin. It might be possible that the imposter is still around town. The Commander could perhaps request a meeting and the two of you might be able to get to the bottom of things.

This has proven to be a dangerous place. If you admit you are not a fighter, I fear for your safety. I am a figher, trained since I was a boy. And I nearly lost my life today.
Do you, or did you, have weapons when you came here? Or did you just bring art supplies?

I wondered at the time. But being a stranger in a new town, I had no way of knowing anything was amis.
