"Are there rules of engagement? Is this a job you want done silently or is this a job you just want DONE.?" Jadrith questions this woman for if the case was that they wanted this done without noise, it would seem that he would once again have to rely on his new acquaintances for assistance.
A sly smile stretches across Eriadwyn's face, "The lad asks a fair question Lady of the Four, you've given us a task but narry and inkling as to preference for how you'd like it done. We'll get you the ring a'right, but without terms," she winks, "Might could get messy."
The woman smiles. ”Yes, that is a fair question. Your methods are your own, that’s part of the test. Avoidance of bloodshed is preferable, but the choice is up to you. However, under no circumstance are you to mention your connection to the Ring.”
"Since we going to an inn I rather do it silently we don't want anybody calling the city guards, either way time not on our side if he gonna leave tomorrow." The gnome ask the woman how we can exit this warehouse. If we back the city streets Grini walk towards the *Lost Elderwyrm Tavern*.
Ember nods as the woman talks. "It seems reasonable and easy enough... how would you know if we've completed the test? How do we contact you to give you the ring?"
Ember nods and waits to see if the others have any other questions they want to ask. If not, then she'll also leave the warehouse with the group and head to the tavern. As they leave the warehouse, she takes off her mask, flinching and covering her eyes a bit at the sudden brightness of the sun. She rearranges her clothing to look less like a stereotypical rogue and more like a wandering traveller, cloak pushed over her shoulders so it's only really covering her back and her entire front can be seen. She moves the sheathes of her daggers to the back so that her cloak would cover them, only showing off her rapier at her side. A thick iron band with runes carved on them can also be seen around her neck as she rearranges her clothes, though she quickly covers it up again with the high collar of her cloak.
"Soo..., " Iibbrr scratches his neck in thought. "We know he's not magic. And it's safe to say that if The Ring knows about him, he's pretty famous... I guess. So this boy is gonna have eyes over his shoulders." He lets out a yawn, getting stumped. "If we're doing this quiet, we can't stand out." He plucks a feather from his wings." That rules me out. The cats got the right idea."
"Oh, don't worry. I can handle this test, easy peasy. This is child play compared to what I usually do. I'll just sneak in invisible and pop the pretty little ring off his finger."Ember grins as she plays with Arcane magic in her hands before forming a fist and snuffing it out. "How's that for a plan?"
The mention of freedom has piqued his curiosity. Geex was free, but he aimed to be able to move about without worry about the lack of money or resources. Geex has been in this position before. He is not keen on fighting, but with his prior time on the pirate ship, he knows how this is going to go. Lots of blood. Dirty infected blood. Geex takes the mask from his belt and straps it onto his head, pulling his hood up. Geex removes a crossbow from under the long coat and cocks it before loading a bolt. "Let's get on with it I suppose," he says slightly muffled from the mask. Geex cracks his neck and looks around at the others holding a crossbow that is probably a little too big for him.
Looking over to Iibbrr and the conclusion he came to "Yeah, I agree, if silence and stealth are the mission here, probably will be best to keep me out of it. If the plan is to take it right in the Inn, I'll stand guard outside. If he tries to make a dash for it because something fails, well, he'll run into me." Jadrith smiles and kinda flaunts his large stature ever so slightly.
Seeing people might be scattered in this operation Grini offers a way to still be able to communicate. Before reaching the inn the gnome take out his spellbook flip some pages ritual casting a spell while breaking some white and brown eggshell to dust. Those who are willing are sprinkled with eggshell dust and are under rary's telepathic bond for 1 hour.
Telephaticly he says to those under the same spell "This way we can still pass on imporant information or any urgency"
"I'd watch that hubris, " Iibbrr turns to Ember. "It'll get ya killed. Or worse, behind bars. Now, don't take this personally, but I haven't been quick to trust anyone in this city. Who's going in with her?" He turns to the rest of the group.
Ember sighs and speaks telepathically to avoid anyone hearing their conversation. "Don't think that'd be a good idea, birdy. The less people that come along, the better. If I get caught, I'll just run. It'll be hard to find me if I'm invisible." She shrugs. "You guys can stay in the tavern so that if anything goes wrong you can help me out, but I don't think more than one person will be necessary for, essentially, a pickpocket mission. In fact, more than one would just increase the likely hood of us getting caught. No need to make it complicated. The more detailed a plan, the more likely it'll go bad. Mr Goliath's plan on standing at the front of the tavern sounds good as well if the guy we're after tries to make a run for it."
Eriadwyn nods,"The lass is insistent, we may as well let her try. If she fails we can employ... other means. Let some of the rest of us enter the tavern first though hmm, lass? If we trickle in a few at a time we'll be a bit less suspicious I think." Eriadwyn runs her hand over her face and then her fingers through her hair and she takes on the appearance of a much younger woman, her hair changing from silver to a fiery auburn. She removes her cloak with a flourish, and wraps it in a bundle tucked under her arm.
If there no objection Brini will enter the inn with Ember and says to her "I'll be your wingman for shortwhile in the lobby until we find some information which room he staying in, after that i'll leave the rest up to you."
You all walk together to the Lost Elderwyrm Tavern in the southern end of the merchant district, stopping just outside. From within, you can hear a boisterous lunch crowd. Music flows freely, and so does the alcohol, from what you can tell. Ember, Brini, you two leave the others outside, entering. Before you you see at least twenty patrons crowded into this small tap room. The smell of ale and unwashed bodies rolls over you as you inspect your surrondings. The bar is located near the front of the room. A dragonborn woman with yellowish-gold scales runs back and forth, trying to keep up with her many customers. Over in the corner, three halflings sit playing instruments (a fiddle, a horn, and what appears to be a full sized grand piano).
Ember will find an empty table for her and Brini to sit at and order a round of ale for the two. As they sit at the table, she'll look around the tavern for the man with two different coloured eyes. Sipping at her ale, she'll ask, "Soooo.... what's your name? I just realised we never actually introduced ourselves."
(OOC - Is this place a tavern that also has an inn or just a tavern?)
The gnome looks at Ember "Sorry where my manners, My name Brini usually I maintain or copy new books at the church. Sometimes i sell spellscrolls at the underground for some extra earnings. What about you're name, what you usually do if you weren't put in this situation?"
