"Tanakir, know that I am not, I am Karst, paladin of Hoar, I speak no lies to you, nor shall I. Comrades who have fought and bled together have no reason to decieve one another."Karst frowns, as he feels the spell pull at him, choosing not to fight it. "I submit willingly, although I would have once been angered at the lack of trust these days demand a different approach. Please do not resist as I did not and tell me you are who you appear to be, the might of Hoar watches over us and will tell me if you lie or try to fight my spell" Karst the murmers a brief incantation and each of the party find themselves being pushed to submit to speaking only the truth.
Tanakir responds in kind, not resisting the effects of Karst's spell, "I am glad that we have cleared away the possibility of deception. I am no slaad, and I am the same Tanakir who assisted you all and Fumbles previously. It is unfortunate that we had cause to distrust each other, yet that is the nature of the enemy. What have you been doing in this place? And why were we not informed that you were here?"
"We have been hard at work preparing this safehouse from eyes both physical and magical," Roccar explains, "We'd have been in Sundabar sooner, but...there was a complication, and an old friend of mine needed some help. If you have seen the slaadi, then you have an idea of what we are up against, yet I'm afraid they are only the tip of the iceberg. I will explain all in time, but there are some people you need to meet first. If all goes well, they will be able to join us within a couple of days."
Breathing a sigh of relief at the end of the tense situation, the barbarian of a human pulls up a number of chairs to a nearby table and plodding down in one. "Well...now that we're all here with some time to kill, what say we have some fun for once? A sparring match, arm wrestling, some tavern games? Who's in? I'll even throw in some coin if we want to raise the stakes," he asks, a smile crossing his face for the first time in a long while as he unbelts his magically crafted greataxe and rests it against a wall.
OOC: We can keep to a single game or have multiple running at once, depending on what each of the characters feel like. Sparring matches and arm wrestling are self-explanatory, but Roccar will explain some of his favorite tavern games:
Bullsheart: A 2-4 player game where players throw darts at a circular board. The closer to the center (or the "bull's heart") earns more points.
Dwarves' Bane: A 2 player drinking contest, which can be made into a tournament. The first to chug through six ales wins.
Call to Arms: A team-based gambling game where each teammates take turns throwing a battleaxe back and forth to each other, getting further away until someone fails to catch the axe.
Dragon's Egg: A 2-6 player gambling game where players take turns tossing or bouncing a small pebble (or a "dragon's egg") into a mug of ale in the center of the room.
Feeling the relief of knowing the truth, Wes brings to stow his wand calmly as Petunia begins to scurry around and climb up Karst and Roccar gleefully giving weasel kisses and nuzzling with her nose.
“If we are here to pass the time, what could go wrong with throwing axes at each other?”
"You might even end up with a few impressive looking scars Wes, although only if Aradurk is at the other end of the axe!" Karst jokes, as he carefully removes Petunia and gently hands her back to the gnome.

"A call to arms, then! One of my favorites," Roccar exclaims. "Who will be the first team to go, then? You begin six feet apart from each other. Throw the axe back and forth between one another. If both of you catch the axe, then the next team will have a chance to go. Then you move further back and repeat, until only one team has won."
OOC: Whoever the first pair of contestants are, each of you make a Dexterity check.
Aradurk looks around, pleased to see the true visages of his comrades. "I am glad to see you have yet again eluded death Karst, my friend and you as well, Roccar. Now that I have spilled my sentimentality for the day, let's play!", he says as he looks at Tanakir and Karst bandying about with their axes.
Experienced axe-wielders, Tanakir and Karst stand in the center of the room, six feet apart. Tanakir tosses his axe first to Karst, who deftly catches it and tosses it right back to the genasi, who grabs it with one hand, twirling it for extra measure.
"Nicely done! Who is going to challenge that? Wes and Aradurk, I think you're up," Roccar says with a chuckle.
OOC: If that is the team that is challenging Tanakir and Karst, need a Dexterity check from Aradurk. I can also roll the check once that's confirmed if need be.
Rycider sits comfortably in a chair in the corner of the room, taking advantage of the light from a sputtering lamp, working slowly on her embroidery hoop.
Wes performs surprisingly well, snagging the axe handle in midair with both hands even though the weapon is almost as big as he is. His return throw to Aradurk is on target, and the half-orc has no trouble at all picking it from the air without a drop of blood.
"Only gets harder from here, boys," Roccar says with a single loud clap.
OOC: Next up, repeat the Dexterity checks, this time from eight feet away.
The second time around, Tanakir snatches the axe from Karst, showing off and handling it for a moment before tossing it back to the paladin. Karst readies himself, but the handle turns away from his reach at the last second and he is forced to retract his hand, lest it be lost. The axe crashes against the wall, to Roccar's great amusement. "If the gnome beats you two, you're buying him an ale," he says.
Aradurk and Wes take the stage, eight feet apart. Wes launches the axe with all of his might. Aradurk catches the axe cleanly, using the momentum of the throw to swing it up, over his head, and back at the gnome. Wes catches the axe above his head, and for a moment it looks like the weight of the weapon is going to topple him. His arms strain with the effort, and the axe comes to a stop before hitting the ground.
Roccar roars, "He did it! Looks like Karst and Tanakir are buying the first round!"
"Tanakir, know that I am not, I am Karst, paladin of Hoar, I speak no lies to you, nor shall I. Comrades who have fought and bled together have no reason to decieve one another." Karst frowns, as he feels the spell pull at him, choosing not to fight it. "I submit willingly, although I would have once been angered at the lack of trust these days demand a different approach.
