Winston looks at the goods (a pipe and a pouch of tobacco, a set of woodworking tools and a crowbar) Zeph, who despite scouring the shop cannot find the set of navigators tools he was looking for, and says “coin works but I’ll happily take that little rock off you in exchange in you like!”
"How much would you offer per bail?" Gilly asks, giving the man six danter and receiving eight taran in change. "I'd like to report back to my captain and let him decide if it's a good price."
Winston looks at Gilly and says “well it depends, its cargo from a shipwreck so you’ve got no papers and aren’t unloading it a port, and it could be damaged by salt water.”He thinks “I suppose I could go up to 200 Danter per bale”
Gilly pats his silk and smiles at the dwarf. "I'll bring the news to me cap'n. Now, what about this pretty, pretty stone?" the blue-skinned firbolg asks, displaying the piece of obsidian. "How much can I fetch for it?"
Zin watches as Gilly tries to barter a price for the silk. He won't take part, just watch and wait for his shipmates till its time to leave and find the captain.
"I had hoped maybe you could toss in a set of [equipment]Navigator's Tools[/equipment] if I was going to part with a gem such as this... Perhaps you could toss in ten days rations like you did my friends here and we can settle up with coin" The tabaxi would say as he slides the gem into his coin pouch and begins pulling out some coin.
"I had hoped maybe you could toss in a set of if I was going to part with a gem such as this... Perhaps you could toss in ten days rations like you did my friends here and we can settle up with coin"
"If Ihad Navigator's Equipment I'd gladly sell it to you but I am not a Ships' Chandler. Rations however, that I can do!"He goes around collecting the dried, fish, beans, rice, fruit and nuts and bundles them up. "Right that'll be nine danter all up! But I'm still happy to take that stone in payment if you wish"
The tabaxi would hesitate for a moment, looking over the tigers eye and admiring it one last time before handing it to the shopkeeper. "Take care of that gem, it's a real treasure" Zephyr would say as the man took if from his hand. Then picking up his new equipment, he would place the items in his pack and make his way over to Zin. "I think I am ready for a drink now" He would say with a smile, showing off a few of his sharp teeth.
"Nine or 10," Gilly repeats. He gives the man a smile. "I appreciate your time, the wares, and the estimate. I believe I'll hold onto this little rock a little longer." He places the stone back in his purse, adjusts the silk, and slowly moves back toward the door to wait for his fellows.
"How are things in town? I visited here once but that was many, many years ago. Seems to have grown since I was last here,"Zin asks the man casually, a friendly smile on his face.
"Not sure how long ago you were in town but with the dwarves coming in about 10 years ago, Llandrain’s folks have split into two groups. The ‘Traddodolwyr’ who want it largely to remain as it is a whaling and fishing town which doesn’t get involved in the bigger picture and the ‘Teyrngarwyr’ who want to develop all of the regions resources and forge a closer relationship with Care Westphal and Amn”Winston replies.
"Well, it's been more than 10 years as I don't recall any dwarves when I was here. I thank you for the information. We'll see what the captain says of your offer. Have a good day sir."
Zin will leave the shop with the others and meet up with the captain.
After having the information passed back to him Vhon calls the rest of the crew around him and discusses the prices offered and what he had been hoping to get for the silks originally. "I think we need to have a chat about where we go from here. The goods need to be sold, there probably aren't too many places that we could shift them and I don't know that we will do much better, I can and will try and haggle a little but my thought is to go with the deal offered here."
Looking around the group he continues
"Clearly the lack of a ship has put us into a different set of roles here, you can't very well be the Captain when you don't have anything to sail on. The gold we get from these last goods will give us a chance to get somewhere else and maybe invest in someone's venture but we need to find something to help us earn on top of what we get here. I say we head into town look for work, we are a bunch with talent, more than most, there might well be jobs that need doing where we can get paid a reasonable amount and get back in the game that way. Soooo, I'm going to go in, try and do a little better than what he's offering right now but we'll take the deal. It'll give us enough to keep us going for a while anyway, buy some time to work out how the land lies. Are we all in agreement?"

"Sounds good to me captain, This silk is getting heavy" The tabaxi would say as he shifts the bail around on his shoulder. "I'll come in and help ya to get the best deal ya can.. he would say with a wink and a toothy grin.
Gilly flashes a cheeky grin. "I could set up on a street corner offering to clean clothes and linens," he says with a little flick of his wrist. "The question is how much is someone willing to pay for such a service?" He gives a little shrug. "I could also offer to be entertainment at the local tavern in exchange for reduced rent. Whatever you need, Cap'n."
"You're a good bunch of lads! Right Zeph let's go and see if the gentleman is up for some hagglin'." Nodding to the rest of the crew, Vhon heads inside with a broad smile on his face and a spring in his step.

Floki listens to the group discuss what to do about the silk. When he gets a chance to speak up, he says "Doesn't bother me if we have no ship, you are still my captain. As for jobs in town, I love nothing more than putting my hands to work, whether its using Bessy and Betsy to take down a foe, or to work on a ship in the shipyard. It's all satisfying work for me." Once he has said his piece, he goes and finds a spot to sit down.
After a moment he looks back, "Gilly! Any chance you could play a tune whilst we wait for the Cap'n?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zephyr would take his bail of silk and follow the captain. Once inside the shop once more, he would cast dancing lights that swirl softly along the edges of the silk as unrolls a section of the cloth and holds it up. He would then also cast gust enough to get the silk fluttering about as if it were alive and dancling with the lights in a gentle breeze. "I don't know that you could see how nice this silk is earlier... " The tabaxi would say with a purr as he picks up the corner of the fluttering silk and rubs it between his fingers. "A softer and classier cloth you would be hard to find!"
(OOC: So Zephyr is just trying to help Vhon get a good price so I don't know if I need to roll persuasion or not but I will just in case you want me to. I am just trying to help the captain. Persuasion! 18 I assume he will be the one actually making the roll.

(are you inspiring him to greatness? I mean we could be talking potentially... a lot of extra gold if he does a good job on this deal)
