"Picked the physical lock, but I think there's a magical lock, too..." Spotty mutters a Dwarvish curse, then returns to the other room and looks at the runes. "Varrynthanyr, huh? Probably a name... a dragon's name, I think." He then goes to open the northwestern door.
The door opens to a long corridor with 4 doors, one at the western end, one in the south wall, one in the north wall, and the one you are standing in front of now.
"Let's stick to the left hand wall. It's better to have a system in situations like these, I've heard. Though it can't hurt to listen to the doors, first, eh?" Hef looks to the dynamic duo leading the way to make the final decision, now that he's said his piece.
The south door has a stone relief carving portraying a dragon-like fish swimming. The other doors are fairly ordinary. And you don't find anything that looks like a trap.
None of you know what Varrynthanyr is or could be (but it does sound like a dragon name).
Renny:
While repeating the name Varrynthanyr to yourself, you get this tingling feeling inside, a feeling similar to what you feel when you use your magic.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zak watches as Spotty checks the corridor for any traps all slick-like.
"Left hand wall it is!" Zak says to Hef in Orc and then proceeds to put his ear up against the left (western) door to see if he can hear anything beyond the door. Good thing Hef reminded Zak to listen first... he thinks to himself.
Gwenant wanders into the hallway with a pensive expression on her face. "Varrynthanyr" certainly sounds like it could be a dragon's name, but seeing as Gwenant isn't any sort of scholar she isn't about to bang her head against a wall trying to figure it out, at least not right now... She nods at Hef's suggestion that they develop a system for their exploration, it wouldn't be smart to just wander about all willy-nilly in these parts. Seeing Zak listening by the door, Gwenant heads over and readies her shield and trident for when he opens the door.
Renny shrugs, "Maybe there's a pass phrase. Might be a clue somewhere.. maybe it's the name itself."
She's not that close to the door, maybe still just a few feet inside the room, "Varrynthanyr" she says in common, trying to see if she can get a better sense of the feeling she gets.

"Not a peep" says Zak over to Gwenant.
He waits until Renny's done with her Varrynthanyr speak (he's actually quite confused as to why they keep saying that word) and then noticing that Hef and Gwenant are at the ready he will then kick open the left/west door with his Greatsword drawn. (Zak is assuming it's not locked. If it is, here's a STR check to kick the door open: 18)
"Wow. That's one tough door. I guess there's some special way to open it."
Spotty inspects the door, trying to figure it out.

"Oufff no kidding!" Zak says as he shakes out his foot.
Spotty: nothing physical seems to be holding the door locked anymore.. so you can assume something magical may be behind it.

Renny is busy looking at the writing and rolling the word around her head.
"Varrynthanyr... Varrynthanyr?"

Varrynthanyr seems to mean nothing to Zak.
He is following Spotty as he goes to the door and opens into the longer corridor.
"Hmmm... so... door number 1, 2 or 3? heh heh heh" he chuckles to Spotty.
"Let's stick to the left hand wall. It's better to have a system in situations like these, I've heard. Though it can't hurt to listen to the doors, first, eh?" Hef looks to the dynamic duo leading the way to make the final decision, now that he's said his piece.
"How 'bout you pick? But first things first... this would be the perfect place for a trap or two." Spotty carefully searches the narrow hallway.

Renny frowns slightly toward the first door with the dragon head, "Umm.. guys. It sounds weird.. but I feel something when I say that name."
She walks closer to the runes on the wall for a better look.

Zak: you hear nothing through the door.
Renny: there is nothing more to the runes than that word/name.
