Thomas will once again refresh his spells on the group and the Disguise on himself.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Hmmm, Maybe a dozen Marines? we sorta do want to have a larger force. So, nine goodberries the night before and, after resting, nine more in the morning, give them to everyone around mid-day.
When we are about two hours from catching up, Aleister will have Ofn and Terfysgeath fly ahead until they spot the group, to return and let him know soonest.

Thomas passes on the information and their exact locations, drops his disguise so the full function of the Ghillie suit is working, then just before they come within sight of the bowmen in the trees slips into the shadows and stalks up to the ambush spot. Waiting until the signal is given by the main group, he strikes from the shadows, shooting up at the unsuspecting target.

"Wait a moment, people," Sarah cautioned. "They might be the hunters that the town mentioned. We need to check them out first. If they're PPA, we ambush to our hearts content. Can Gamliel describe them? Did they wear a coat of arms, uniform or insignia?"
Can the ravens reveal to Aleister any sense of these 'peoples' posture: Do they appear armed? Waiting to spring an ambuscade, i.e. look/act like predators? (ravens would have an idea of how such would behave I should imagine). Or do they act like they are 'hiding' to prevent discovery by something that might be hunting them? Are they hunkered down or are they alertly watching the back trail?
"If there are only a couple I'd guess that the are escapees most likely," Aleister says. "If they were going for an ambuscade there should be more and on both sides of the trail, that is supposing their any good at that tactic."
OoC: Hello team, very exciting stuff. Name's Masu and I will be introducing my PC now -- Matthias Wright, Jr., Champion Fighter. Those are some good perception rolls so let me give you guys some good detail.
IC: The troupe spots two men, one in his late teens and the other in his late twenties, sitting a large branch sharing a meal.
The younger is dressed in pretty standard punk fare: jorts, a Misfits tee, denim vest, backward baseball cap, crew socks and chucks. Clean shaven with greasey black hair and gauges in his ears. The older: carpenter-style tan Dickies, hiking boots and a zip-up long sleeved hoodie. Those with better perception rolls can just make out a glint of metal from underneath the hoodie, as well as tattoos on his hands and neck. Brown-black hair in a close fade with a full beard below it.
In front of the men, hanging from another branch, are two traveling backpacks. In turn, hanging from the backpacks, you can see a bow, a polo mallet (with nails sticking out of it's head) and a metal baseball bat with extra weights added to it.
OoC: I'm not sure how high we are off the ground; I'm sure that'll come into play with the following posts.
The description relayed by the birds didn't sound like PPA goons. They were far too smug about their pseudo-chivalry to go casual dress. Survivors? It sounded likely.
"So...looks like they're not PPA. I'll do the meet and greet. I can pop my darkness if they're a threat but keep me covered and be read to attack."
Sarah steps out, her hands holding her bow laxly but her other hand didn't stray too far from her hidden bead. She must make quite the sight with her multiple mirror images. Hopefully that would fox their aim a bit if they were hostile. Gramps grumbled at her side that she was a 'fool girl' for stepping out of cover. Well, someone had to and she was the best choice. Once out in the open, she waved at the 'hidden' men, or where the others had said they would be.
"Hey there, I'm Sarah and we're looking for a group of people that came this way. They're being held by a bunch of slavers. You happen to see which way they went?"
"What the fu--" the kid started to exclaim when he lost his balance and slipped from the branch, only to be caught by a single arm from the older man. A pause, and then an audible sigh.
"Looks like you caught us at a disadvantage. Let us come down," you hear a smooth smoker's voice respond. He spoke slow, clear and deliberate. One by one you see the weapons drop to the ground before the backpacks are carefully lowered. The two men drop down from the tree.
With better visibility you can see that the older male is of mixed heritage, white and maybe Polynesian or Native American (perhaps both, hard to tell), and fit, athletic even -- slightly over six feet and at least 200 pounds with movements that suggest comfort at that size and weight. The younger of the two stays near their belongings, the older starts to walk toward Sarah.
From his hiding spot, George lets an arrow fly by the older man's head, sticking in the trunk of the tree behind him - the message very clear - approach any closer and the next one goes for center mass.
"Whoa! Whoa! Woe is me, how well we could have met, if on a bet, I held a Royal Flush! Instead you fall, with a blush, out of a bush." Aleister croaks. "Did you ever read "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"? I am attempting to better the poetry of the Captain of that Dogon constructor ship, how'm I doin'?"
"So what bring you to this neck of the woods my friends?" Aleister politely inquires as he strolls up to stand beside Sarah.

You've picked up the trail. Anything you want to do before hitting the trial again?
If not then off we go.

Aleister will use the spell Goodberry and give one to everybody when the party is about half-way to their 'prey'.

I am again confused as to how many people are here, just the six of you or many NPCs as well?

Keeping an eye out, Sarah hopes their avian companions will find their targets.

Cursing the eyelash that falls in her eye, Sarah fusses with it, leaving her eyes sore and red.
