Cursing softly, Aleister will help with the wounded as well. He will tally the dead, keeping track of the PP's in particular, as he is wondering just what sort of effort was put into the abortive attempt at what ever it was they were trying to do. He will carefully search Mack and Liu's corpses (Perception 4 Investigation 4) hoping to learn something.
Thomas binds the wounds of any fallen allies, and checks over the bodies of the fallen foes for anything unusual (Detect Magic). If any allies are very badly off (dying) he will use the scroll of Life Transference after stabilizing them.
Nothing magical but Baron Lui does have a copy of "Bored of the Rings" among his possessions plus some PPA currency.

OCC The MacKenzies still have the child, yes?
"This is as clear as mud. Dumb *!c#s!"
While your investigative skills may leave something to be desired it is obvious that the PPA have expended a lot of resources here. Saving Matilda was the primary goal but killing senior Mackenzies and the Dunedain Rangers leadership was also part of the plan. Yes the Mackenzies still have Matilda.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After killing Mack, Sullivan will say a short prayer atop his body, as to give this as an offering to Krampus. Then he helps with the wounded where needed and makes a point to check the bodies again after Aleister looks them over.
"At every turn, the PPA runs into our swords. If they didn't have a grudge before, they're sure going to have one now! Our little band has been a sharp point in their sides every time we get involved. So much for operating under a flag of truce with negotiations."Turning to the MacKenzie leader, Thomas adds "So, what are your plans now, seeing as they can't be trusted to negotiate in good faith?"

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Aleister perks up, "I got a great idea!" He grins hugely, "Raise Mathilda up as an adopted daughter of the MacKenzie's and she will have a legitimate claim on the 'throne' of the PPA. What was it that was said to be one of Julius Caesar's sayings, 'divide and conquer'. Yeah! Teach her she is being raised to take back power and relieve the suffering of the 'masses' now enslaved by her father. Perhaps mention that the 'Change' did something to his brain, made him a megalomaniac or something, whatever, and she is destined to redeem him. Brilliant, I say, simply brilliant!" He is obviously very please with himself, which is a bit unusual.
"Send agents into Portland and it's environs and claim she is preparing to return, have her study Douglas MacArthur, or someone, anyway, start an underground revolt centered on her legit claims. Call them the PRA, 'Portland Redemption Army', or something equally stirring. Gads! The possibilities!"
"Fostering wasn't unheard of in the Protector's precious Medieval age. It would serve him right to lose control of his heir. I do wonder if the PPA will disavow Lui. His failure is embarrassing but it would be just as shameful for the Protector to admit he can't control his men. If he does, then then we can hardly hand her over. For all we'd know it would be to another rebel lord. Keeping her without causing a war, though will be trickier."

A bit better. Baron Lui has a signet ring. All his equipment is high quality.
"Kinda think we're already at 'war', low intensity, but war just the same." He will ask the Rangers if there were any hang gliders that might be salvageable.

To deliberately try to turn her against him is immoral. And from a purely practical standpoint if it didn't work she would become an even worse enemy than he is."
We are wrapping up here and there will be another time jump of two years. For our new players during this down time you can do anything that takes your fancy. The Yachats town folk have access to a strange magical place where (with a lot of effort) you can each have two spells made permanent. Also they have access to craftsmen who can make high quality weapons and armour (effectively +1 but not magical) You are all 7th level.
A reminder about potions and scrolls
Spell level of scrolls available
Levels 1-5 caster level x 1
Levels 6-10 caster level x 2
Levels 11-15 caster level x 3
Level 16+ caster level x 4
Creation time 1 day per spell level
Casting time one round per spell level or for healing 1 minute/spell level
You can have a number of potions equal to your level adjusted for rarity.
Common = 1 Uncommon = 2 Rare = 5 Very Rare = 8 Legendary = 10

A couple crashed so you could probably get one usable one from the remains.
During the intervening 2 years, Thomas works at making even more magical progress, enhancing all the allied connections around the country with knowledge and power, better enabling every one of the United Cities of America to defend against the barbaric PPA and other similar foes. He creates a number of scrolls with various, powerful magic on it for use on their adventures. (14 total levels of scrolls - 1 x Life Transference (@4th), 1 x Conjure Minor Elementals (4th) , 1x Tiny Hut (3rd), 1x Magic Circle (3rd))
OOC - He'd like to research Arcane Eye, Polymorph, Hallucinatory Terrain, Conjure Minor Elementals, Private Sanctum, and Secret Chest in that order, based on the "Must be longer than 1 round duration" limits.
OOC - Normal Ritual casting times are 1 minute per spell level still, except for healing correct?

This is for everyone: As each level is in effect an adventure the limit on scrolls and potions is per adventure. You don't get to replace them until after the adventure finishes. As you go up a level you redo your items 'for free' so you can change the potions and scrolls at that time.
For Thomas, Doc has taken Polymorph and improved invisibility so you can trade with him for those. You get two so Arcane eye and Hallucinatory terrain.
All spell casting (non healing) is 1 minute per level. Healing is 1 hour per level
Sarah offers up spare Acid or Fire Arrows to anyone who wants them (+1d4 elemental damage). She also refreshes her scroll supply and adds a Potion of Heroism (rare) and two Bottled Breath (common). She learns and shares Banishment (think exorcism) and nabs Polymorph and Arcane Eye from the Doc. Her armor will also gain a +1.

For having permanent spell scrolls, what level spells are we limited to? Level 3 or 4?
Fire bolt- Shoot a streaking ball of fire towards a foe and deal a measly 1d10 fire damage. Use eldritch blast instead.
Fireball - Drawing magic from your inner reserves, you unleash a devastating nuke that explodes in a circle, hitting multiple enemies, and burning them to a crisp with a godly amount of 8d6 fire damage. Make your DM’s fights look like garbage. It’s also a nice way of TPK your entire party and have them triggered at you for the rest of the week.
Blaize slips back into the wilderness for the next 2 years, becoming a doctor or some sort. He has reforged his armor and weapons, started studying magic, and refreshed his list of scrolls and potions. He slowly built up his reputation, helping the poor and unfortunate and cast lesser restoration, curing them for free. Such kindness is restrained by one problem: the time it takes to cast healing spells. So often he had to work overtime, starving on some days, and his place crowded with the sick and the weak. Some days he would wonder around in town or study and try to become more powerful.
OOC: What level spell scrolls are we allowed? Level 4?
Potions:
Blaize will take a potion of greater healing, potion of fire breath and a philter of love
