OOC: How big is the room we are facing- specifically how many of us can fit in it at once? The one with the body in it? Is the rope taught or slack? Do we notice any traps?
Damaia still holding on to her spell slowly steps through the door. She peeks through the corners of the door way to make sure she isn't walking into an ambush. Then she will then move toward the door but not open it. She will peak through the holes in the wall to see the other room.
Bob steps forward into the room keeping his shield to the fore - he surveys the body and the strange rope to see if he can ascertain a manner of death or the nature of the rope Investigation 8
He looks through the holes as well and surveys the other room Perception 13
As soon as the metal door fully opens, a flow of rotted food and soiled water flows into the trough from a small channel carved into the stone.
The red furred tabaxi says; "Well, we might as well get them out there; before they get us in here," as she follows Damaia into the room.
The blue skinned man asks; "Are we sure that there are no traps?" Holding towards the back.
Damaia, as you peer around the corner to the left, you see an old chair sitting infront of an empty bookshelf; to the right you see the rest of the body. It appears to be a human male, it's throat ripped out and it's gear looted.
The blue rope in his hand leads to the body of a zombified kobold; which also appears deceased. The rope is tied around the zombie's legs. When Bob touches the rope in their investigation; your metal fingers begin to frost over, but begin to thaw when you let go.
Those that peer through the holes see what appears to be some form of shrine set up on an altar along the far wall, heavily themed towards shadows. The room appears to be much larger than your current one.
Bob steps fully into the room (the one with the shrine) and steps just to the right of the door - clearing the way for anyone else who wants to enter but carefully cutting off any attack vectors.
'That rope is cold to the touch - I am unfamiliar with its type or purpose but sense it has a power beyond its mere form'
Perception looking for traps and any other entry points into the room 12
Stepping to the right, you notice another door nearly directly behind you, made of simple wood. To the right is another door, that appears to be made from stronger looking wood.
A dip of water falling from the ceiling, draws your attention back to the left, as it falls down right above the doorway you just entered. Those that can smell could only describe the scent as goblin piss.
The room is long, 40ft from side to side, and 20ft wide. More doors lay to the left, one wooden and one iron. The altar and shrine sit in the middle along the wall, with a few benches before it; though broken with age. Upon the altar sits an old wooden box with no markings, and several empty candlesticks.

Damaia scowls at the goblin piss, obviously disgusted. With the rope being magical in nature and the shrine being a... shrine. Damaia decides to use her magic studies to examine the nature of the rope and the shrine. Too bad she was a terrible student and magic school but she's not going to tell anyone that.
Arcana on Rope to figure out what it actually is: 16 Arcana on Shrine to see if it has anything magical about it: 6
Damaia, both the rope and the shrine are like nothing you've seen before; both oddities. As you look on towards the shrine; both you and Bob hear the sounds of footsteps rushing towards the door, moments before the door suddenly shuts and locks itself. Then silence.
(DM: 22)
Bob, you find yourself in the shrine room alone, or so you believed. Suddenly shadowy claws rise up from the ground, grabbing onto your legs. You can feel the shadows begin to pry their way into your body. (Necrotic Damage: 6, plus reduce your Strength by 1)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If Damaia can see the shadows, she will blast them with her held Eldritch Blast. If not, she'll blast the wooden door instead. Then she'll ask, "You okay big guy? You were flailing around at the air."
The door crumbles to the ground as the yellow mist blasts into it, breaking it in half. Bob, you can still see shadows moving around the edges of the room, shrine, and benches.
From the other room you hear the horned female call out from her cot; "Oh, watch out for the shadows; they will kill you."
The blue skinned man replies; "What? Why didn't you warn us earlier!?" He then moves into the room with Damaia and the red furred tabaxi.
The orange furred one rushes up to the red furred one; and readies her guard for combat.
"Givemeyourweapon!!" Says the gnome to the warforged. "Icantemporarilyupgradeit, sothatyoumaybetterdefendyourselfagainstanyfuturethreats!!"
If bob gives Fusie the weapon, the gnome attaches a few tesla coil looking things to it, winds some wires around it, and flips a switch. The weapon crackles to life, electricity coursing over it. He then hands back the weapon. The gnome then draws a crossbow and loads a bolt, preparing to shoot anything that attacks.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
A croaked and twisted voice calls down from above; "Yeah, we can't understand you!" Followed by a flood of laughter radiating down from countless cracks in the ceiling. You can even see the occasional eyeball looking through the larger breaks and holes.

Damaia gets pissed off and readies another Eldritch Blast (If any of you have seen the plasma bolts in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, that's what I'm picturing Damaia's Eldritch blasts to look like). She considers blasting the... whatever-it-is that's laughing at them from above. She decides to worry about the more immediate threat and looks around and says, "Instead of standing around, we should do something. Everyone stay alert." She then looks around trying to see if the shadow is still here. Perception: 6. The moment she sees a Shadow, she's going to release her Eldritch Blast at it. (Obviously, she's going to hold on to the spell if she doesn't see the shadow.)
You see a shadow flickering around a bench; which you quickly destroy, the shadow scattering to another part of the room.
In the other room you can hear the last one resting finally pull themselves out of bed. All that look see a 6ft female minotaur with three foot horns and long white fur. "Guess I'm not getting anymore rest today. She yawns, cracks her knuckles, and heads into the other room.
She stops at the body of the zombie kobold. "Oh Eadoo, it looks like you had to wait to meet your God. At least you are at rest now." She bends over and retrieves a large tooth necklace, with holy symbols upon it. As she is pulling it away; suddenly the zombie springs to life, grabbing the minotaur's arm.
