Bazhak goes directly towards the Drider, brandishing his axe and striking the monster, dealing 14 damage.
Ferdinand's attacks are extremely hard to avoid, with him being invisible, granting him a huge advantage over the Drider. He somehow manages to receive a glaive out of nowhere and, uncharacteristically for him, stabs the Drider twice in its carapace, dealing 15 damage.
Bala is, once again, unlucky, as his projectile does reach the target, but the armor covering the Drider's torso is good enough to just barely withstand it.
Dihek'nir insults this Drider as well. It is, likely, not the insult, but the memory of its friend dying because of the Gith's words that affects the Drider, with bloodflow from its wounds increasing, dealing 4 damage.
Finally, Gedyr, who was almost killed by a Drider, gets a chance to attack the creature, sending a flurry of rays of fire, which explode upon the monster's body, dealing a whopping 36 damage and killing the already badly hurt spider instantly. Its body collapses, with only the spider-legs twitching uncontrollably.
The bodies of the dead creatures can be looked over for loot. Their armor and swords are fit for only those with similar bodies, so cannot be used by the party members. They are just scrap at this point. However, the longbows are a completely different thing. Each Drider has A Bow and 40 arrows.
Finally, it is the badly mangled body about a hundred feet from where the last Drider died. It is mostly eaten, with the head as well as parts of the limbs and the torso being completely gone. However, the clothes seem to differ from those worn by both civilians as well as military. The only assumption you can make is that this person was either a monk, or part of a monastic order. You are close to the monastery, of course, but not too close, which means that a monk wandering around this far cannot be the norm.
You can either have a rest now, or continue onward to the Monastery.
Dihek'nir gets up and walks over to the others. He waits for the twitching to cease and then cuts the heads off both of the creatures and sets them together in middle of the road.
"I would also say it'd be better if we settled down. I think we all are pretty much out of juice." Ferdinand walks to gedyr and hands him his spell book. "Do you think you could use it to cast spells if i would explain you my arcane runes?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bala will look at his hand crossbow, look at the Driders bow, discard his weapon and go to pick up the dead Driders. "Always wanted one of these." He picks up the arrows as well. "Imma take first watch."
Gedyr looks at the book. "Indeed, I can transfer these spells to my own, and indeed will be happy to share some of my own ritual spells with you. However it takes time and tools"
ooc: Gedyr could transfer these, and in fact doesn't sleep being an elf however it takes 50 gp per level..... He must have them in his spell book to cast as well....
Ooc: i know about transcribing spells. I was more thinking on on-the-spot casting. RAW it would not be possible, but i thought it might be possible as gedyr and ferdinand know each other for some time and might have done something similar already
OOC: I assume the party decides to have a short rest. As for casting from someone else's spellbook - that's not an option, as spellbooks are specific to their owner, but since you know each other well enough, I'll allow Gedyr to transcribe from Ferdinand's spellbook without needing gold for it. Also, you need to decide what to do with the other bow.
Having seen off the Driders, the party gets a well-deserved rest. The night is entirely uneventful, with only birds and animals disturbing the silence. In the morning, you all feel reinvigorated and well-rested.
OOC: You can click the "long rest" button, so it affects your sheet.
Moving onward to the monastery, the road ahead is quiet as well. Finally, the route goes up a hill, from which, as you've been told, a beautiful vista of the Monastery can be seen. However, instead, you are confronted with a view of disaster:
The Monastery has been utterly destroyed, with only small parts of some of its components remaining. While the destruction was wrought by the river on the banks of which the monastery once rested, it is clear, that this was no natural phenomenon. Those magically inclined within the group can sense that a very powerful spell was used here, not much more than 24 hours ago.
Going down to investigate, you see utter desolation. However, when trying to check out the wreckage, you hear an old man's croaky voice:
"You are not the Baron's men, are you? Have you come to help, add to my misery, or put me out of it?"
Emerging from one of the ruins, you see an old man, in robes similar to the Driders' victim up the road. He looks like this:
The monk is looking at you expectantly, awaiting a response.
Ooc: first some rules lawyering (i am sorry): tiny hut is a 3rd level spell, so it would take 6 hours to transcribe. So gedyr would not get a full rest.
“you remember George? That ice-dude? Well first, his name is actually Steven. Second, i became good friends with his boss. The temple we went in yesterday(or 2 days ago, cant really remember) belogs to what i assume to be the god of winter or frost or something. He took some liking to me and offered me powers in return of favours from my side. I thought having a literal god on our side might be helpfull in this endevour.
ooc: He will only spend the 4 hours transcribing each night, and the other 4 in trance...so he will finish Identify first and start on Tiny Hut.--I am assuming Gedyr can do this being an Elf.
Gedyr is rather suprised..."Well, having a god on our side is certainly helpful, and it's also nice to know about it..now....Did this god say anything about our situation or perhaps a 'universe ending peril' that Wilhelm mentioned?"
The monk looks at Dihek'nir, narrowing his eyes, as if trying to understand what he is. Failing this, he responds:
"Brother Ottis and I were the only ones who did survive without being take captive, and that only because we hid in a basement, which happened not to flood. We were lucky to survive that infernal monster's spell!"
Dihek'nir says, "I'm afraid Brother Ottis became a meal for some weird spider people. So you are officially the only one who survived."
He starts to look around and then says, "Ah, right, we killed the weird spider people, so his death was avenged."
He then continues to survey their surroundings, "Have you seen or heard anything else move around? My senses are tingling - shit like that," and he makes a wide sweeping motion with his hand, "usually attracts all kinds of creatures."
He actually turns his back to the conversation and continues to watch for anything that moves around.
The Monk is clearly very distressed at the news. He asks:
"Are you positive it was him? He was wearing robes like mine, are you certain he was dead?"
Then, he starts talking to himself:
"I hoped we had a chance... The Baron, the Duke and the others... They are toying with powers they have no understanding of... And that traitor of a Hellkin! We let him inside our homes, and that is how he repays us!"
Finally, the monk does manage to come to his senses a bit, and says:
"Excuse my outburst... It's just... well... All my friends and acquaintances are dead or imprisoned by the Baron, and all that because he wanted to accrue the Duke's favor... He wanted our most holy relic, the Beacon of Light, but we refused, so he somehow managed to have the Hellkin Wizard, who was our guest here, cast some terrible ritual, which destroyed this place... Then, he marched his army inside, imprisoned or killed all who had survived, and stole the Beacon. It has a terrible power if used for evil, and that is not all... The Hellkin, Zhen Wuhan, accidentally admitted, that he is working for the Magocracy... So, whatever is going on, the entire Empire and, as a result, the world might be in grave danger. Whoever you are, you need to help me, I think there is still a small chance we can fix this!"
Answering gedyrs question while resting: „he just asked me what you are talking about, so he doesent know. And no thurzon, we dont know anything either. Also Steven is actually called Athrex.“
There is a temple nearby. A temple similar to the one we have already explored. I would like to go there and do some cleaning. We could earn ourselfs the favour of a god that way.

oops, forgto to drop 2....that would be 19, 24, 21, 25 on attack rolls, no crits.
I assumed all attacks went off at the same time with this spell, so invis counted for advantage. If not..... then the rolls would be 19, 13, 17, 25

BEFORE we arrive..Gedyr will sepnd some of the night transcribing, first with Tiny Hut
at some time during the night to Ferdinand.....
"So Ferdinand...did I see you wield a Glave...and also the Ice magic... Where is this from? What has happened to you?"
To the Monk......
"Nay, we are not the Dukes men....what happened here? Who did this?"
ooc: Gedyr has a longbow he took from the armory, but if this looks better than his he will take it. Certainly he will grab some additional arrows....

The monk looks over you with suspicion. Then a glimmer of hope appears on his face:
"Then who are you? Did brother Ottis succeed so fast? Did he somehow already tell the Rear Admiral and he sent you? Who are you people?"
(OOC: if there is an extra bow, Dihek'nir would add it to his pack with the intent to restoring some supplies for the army)
Dihek'nir adds on to the questions asked by Gedyr, "And how did you survive? Did anyone else?"
The monk looks at Dihek'nir, narrowing his eyes, as if trying to understand what he is. Failing this, he responds:
