Ilvisar looks at his feet, "I haven't been particularly enjoying how the ground doesn't sway the way a ship does. But this trembling reminds me of a ship that's breaking itself apart. Is this normal?"
"I won't take your life, at least not while my vengeance depends on me protecting you." Stone would say as he grabs the woman's bloody hand and give it a firm squeeze. "Now let's get out of here.." Stone would say as he motions to her to put the dagger away. He would then grab his pack and prepare to head out.

When the birds take to the air, He would pause for a moment, holding up his hand before looking to the sky. "That isn't good..." He would say before backing up as the ground stops shaking.. "no... not good at all..."
As the birds take flight I freeze listening closely and looking around our surroundings. Then the earth begins to shake at the first noise from the others ”Quiet!“ I try to determine if the shaking is traveling in a certain direction, if it feels like a burrowing thing, or a tremor from a quake or impact.
You feel very confident that they indeed just scattered in every direction. After taking some time assess the situation, everything seems calm and back to normal. Some of the birds begin to land back on trees. The bugs chirping resume.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

"The divine have interest in our lives. I don't yet know our purpose... or what we're supposed to succeed at. The pirate seems of some importance, and while I don't relish the fact that I just threw my old life away, something is reaching out to me to do... something. I will help the pirate, and I will help you all if we are in this together. I think we should keep moving... maybe something will reveal itself."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Just before starting out I pause and reach out focusing on the environment around me.
Primeval Awareness
Beginning at 3rd level, you can use your action and expend one ranger spell slot to focus your awareness on the region around you. For 1 minute per level of the spell slot you expend, you can sense whether the following types of creatures are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain): aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead. This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.
Xil would have slightly more knowledge of the Raven Queen as a Shadar-Kai.
The Raven Queen was a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell who was revered as a deity by the Shadar- Kai
The Raven Queen's origin states that she was originally a sorceress who led a rebellion against a former god of death in Pluton. In order to prevent her from becoming a tyrant in the same fashion as the defeated god, other deities elevated her to the status of goddess of death, but with no power over the dead themselves.
Instead she spins a web and intertwines the thread of fate. Despising the undead and all necromancy as an abomination to the natural order of life and death. She has been deemed the “Usher” between life and death.
Hallie gets a ping on her primeval awareness of a faint celestial presence. The day continues without incident

Waking up the next morning. In the orange glow of the morning, walking in the direction of the rising sun, a sparkle shines brightly as a reflection in your eyes. Covering your eyes from the light, you focus after a minute. Flying into view a large silver dragon flies over head. Flying south and high in the sky, continues on its way and disappears just as quickly as it came in to view.
You all are heading East eventually curling up to North to make it to town tomorrow. Given the speed of the dragon you know there is no chance of knowing where it was going or being able to track it.

Ilvisar turns to look at Xil, saying, "You know, my name is Ilvisar. If you go around calling me 'pirate' around city folk, we're not going to be staying there long."
...
Replying to Hallie, "I think not going where dragons are going is the safer alternative."
”Who said anything about following it? I only asked if you had seen it. I see no reason to change course for now. And I will be happy to find you a lake to bathe in pirate.”
The rest of the day is uneventful as is the night. Waking early and completing your journey by noon. Walking up to the city gate. A wooden palisade surrounding the flat town stretching to the coast of the bay that the city wraps around.
two guards standing in black chain mail armor and short swords on their hips standing on either side of the open gate. As you draw near, they take a quick look at you while and nod giving you clearance to pass through. Not really wanting to pay any attention to you.
Walking into town you see a sprawling city of mostly single level buildings of wooden frame and stone shingle roofs. Cobblestone roads make a network throughout the city. Fresh fish and game markets sporadically seen. A high population of halflings in the southern side of the city. All city guards wearing the same black chain mail as they patrol the streets. To Stone the East side of the city was always the slums, but they now seem particularly dilapidated; a heavy increase of beggars and addicts on the street.
North End is the Market district proper with actual storefronts and shops lining the street facing the bay and docks. In the middle stands the Valed Keep. The one Dtone building, housing the governor of Morthal, Barracks, and Prison. The surrounding area is filled with administrative buildings and the high end establishments. You’re entering through the West gate. The “middle class” area if you will.

Putting your hand to the ground it’s quite indiscernible. Quaking from all around without direction before it fades away
Xil looks for which direction did the birds scattered.

”Did anyone else just see that?”
(How does the direction the dragon flew compare to that of our destination?)
“We should follow it!”

"Wherever Hallie goes, I go" Stone would say looking towards the direction of the dragon.
Ilvisar smirks, "Aaaand lets all hope Hallie goes to take a bath sooner than later."
“Apologies, Ilvisar. We are equals anyway now. I should act like it.”
