Cinder, as you look around you don't see any signs of more goblins around. You can't tell exactly how long the horses have been dead, but they haven't decomposed so it couldn't have been that long ago. As you investigate the corpses, you find the saddle bags to have been looted and empty. Looking around, plenty of goblin tracks go between the road and a small clearing in the thickets ahead. It also appears 2 larger objects were dragged from the horses in that direction.
Standing up, Elora goes over to the goblins with bows and grabs a bow and some arrows.
She gives a few tugs at the string and says "This might come in handy." Looking at her bloodied shirt, she lifts it a bit and cleans her wound with some water from her waterskin. "I better stay out of the thick of it next time" she says with a smile that shows some hurt.
Vidar, you follow the marks to a gap in the thickets about 25 feet beyond the horses. The gap reveals a small, cramped path covered in goblin tracks. The path leads northwest and is covered about a dozen goblin tracks. It seems they've been using this area for ambushes for quite a while.
Vidar will head back to the others. There are more than just the ones we’ve already dealt with by the looks of the tracks back there. Do we want to follow the tracks further? It seems like something or someone has been dragged away towards wherever this little shitehawks camp
Cinder looks around and thinks for a moment.. "I don't see any other dead bodies so it's safe to assume that whoever was riding these horses was either captured or killed and dragged away. We should hope for the best and try to help them, in case they're alive. But... we do have a job to do. We can't take the cart into the woods, and we certainly can't leave it out here on the road."
Thats the rub, every moment counts for whoever has been captured, but we need to deliver these supplies. Anyone good at camoflaging? We try to hide the cart while we search for survivors or do we head onto Phandalin and come back but it means they will be left for most of the day and night at least
Klarth nods in agreement with Elora. "There is plenty of brush to hide the cart and if the goblins weren't smart enough to hide their trails, it shouldn't take long to find them. Vidar is right - time is likely short for someone who was captured," he says.
"A couple of us, preferably the stealthy ones, should scout ahead and see where the tracks lead to. The rest of us can help hide the cart or take a short rest."
"A brief respite to tend my wounds would be much appreciated if we have time" says Gorne at the mention of such an opportunity, "I also agree that hiding the cart in the bushes here should be simple enough"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elora straps her staff on her backpack, takes out the bow and turns to the group.
Okay everyone, you guys take care of the cart. I will scout up ahead and will be back as soon as I find something. I won't be going far, I will just look up ahead while you guys hide the cart.
I will try to come back in time to have a short rest with you.
She then starts moving forward at a slow pace, taking her time moving from tree to tree, hiding in the bushes and looking out for trouble. As soon as Elora sees something, she would go back to warn the party.
Elora, you quietly travel down the path, keeping an eye out. The area seems relatively peaceful for the moment, you don't detect any signs that goblins are currently in the area. You sneak along the path for about 15 minutes before you notice something on the ground. A small snare lies on the path, camouflaged with leaves.
Vidar isn't really any good at camoflaging but he will gives words of encouragement and help out to whoever takes lead in hiding it. (Help action and will also use Bardic Inspiration)

Do the goblins shortbows look useable?
I would like to grab one and some arrows if possible.
The bows seem to be of questionable craftsmanship, but appear usable. You manage to scavenge a shortbow and 17 arrows from the goblins.

Klarth immediately moves to Elora, his eyes on her wounds. "May I?" he asks. With her permission, he will bind her wounds as best he is able.

Why don’t you guys take a quick break while I see if those drag marks lead anywhere?
vidar will keep his sword drawn and try to follow the drag marks.

Klarth looks up from Elora at Vidar's words. "Do you think they captured someone?"
"If they took someone we should try to help, surely this attack can't have been long ago" says Gorne

Elora nods at Klarth, Thank you Klarth.
I also agree that we should look for whoever was attacked. Maybe we can bring the cart further in the path they took, and hide it like Vidar proposed.
We could then take a short rest off the road. I'm still a bit winded from that stab.
