Kalmar, the offices seem empty, and the parchment catches the light oddly. Ringo, a man crawls out from under the tarp. He is unarmed, and his fine clothes are marred with grime and the lingering stench of pickled herring. He shakily puts his hands up. Fluttercloak, rummaging around the secret room, lets out a squawk of delight.

Kalmar grabs the parchment for later examination and does a check for any exits from the offices. If he finds nine he’ll bar the door and start heading back to the stairs. Flutter me lad, was that a delighted exclamation I just heard? What’s the story, boys? He calls downstairs
Ringo relaxes his stance and rests his longsword on his shoulder, but keeps both hands tight around the hilt like a baseball player holding a bat. "All good, Kal. We've got a live one down here,"he yells up to Kalmar without looking away from the grimy guy. He then says to him, "Ya stink and you seem to have seen better days than today, fella. What's your name and why were you hiding?"
Ringo, the young man stands slowly, his arms trembling as he raises them into the air. He has shoulder length auburn hair, and wears a light blue tunic. "Are...are the kenku gone?"You both her Fluttercloak say, "shinyyyy..."off in the other room. The young man continues, "I am Renaer, Renaer Neverember," he straightens himself up, smelling just as bad. "I found myself in quite the predicament, as you saw, and had to hide."
Kalmar heads downstairs sheathing his sword as he goes. Ah, Raenar, Volo sends his regards. We’ll have you out of here in just a moment. He says as he continues over to Fluttercloak. What did you find, Flutter?
You hear Fluttercloak clamoring in the other room with a series of mimicked sounds; the clink of metal, loud brushstrokes and pompous murmuring, and the cha-ching of coins falling into a pile, along with a mimicked "pleasure doing business with you!".
Ranaer approaches unsteadily."Well, I was drinking with an old friend when I became certain he'd imbued too much and offered to escort him home. We were jumped by these...thugs...who took us here, but before they could interrogate us more showed up and killed them. I managed to hide, but my friend...well I'm worried they mistook my friend for myself."

"No, I overheard them talking about the sewers, but I...who are you three?"
Kalmar, entering the secret room you see two barrels that Fluttercloak has opened. One of which contains four wood framed paintings of the cities of Luskan, Neverwinter, Silverymoon, and Baldur's Gate. The other contains over a dozen large bars of tarnished silver. You see Fluttercloak excitedly cramming the silver bars into his pack, but he quickly becomes encumbered and puts one back.
"We're your best chance of getting out of here alive,"Ringo says. "Which way were the tunnels and what did you get a good look at the fellas who took your friend?"Ringo then yells into the other room, "what did we find, boys?"

Here, Cloak, let me take the silver, you grab the paintings, they’ll fetch a fine price as well, I’d imagine. Kalmar gives a follow up search to the room to see if they’ve missed anything. (Invest) 2 and calls out to Ringo, winking at FC as he does so Just a few trinkets. Let’s search the bodies and then get the hell out of here. I don’t think I’ve the stamina for another fight just now. I took a nasty cut. Should we stealthily scout ahead into the sewers a bit, get a lay of the land and then get out and recuperate?
"Or we could just stay here and get some rest. We know the place is cleared. Let our new friend entertained with any more information he can dish out to us," Ringo says as he tries to mask his own pain in front of Raenar.

Kalmar shakes his head. This is a Zhentarim safehouse, boyo. If some of them show up and find us here with a bunch of their dead friends we are in trouble. Hopefully the one that got away didn’t get too good a look at our faces. Let’s head out through the sewer. Take Ranear back to his family, collect the reward. He looks at Ranear There is a reward, right? Then get some rest and get back to work finding Floon. Once they realize they got the wrong guy we can probably negotiate with Xanathar to get him back on the cheap. As he’s saying this Kal is searching the bodies of the dead Kenkus investigation2 after searching the bodies Kal draws Ringo aside and quietly says We found a load of silver and some paintings that look pretty valuable. I wanna stash them someplace safe till we can liquidate them.
Drawing himself up to his full modest height, Renaer replies to Ringo, "Neverembers are good for their debts, though I'm the only one of us in Waterdeep. Get me out safe and I'll be sure to reward you personally. You're looking for Floon? Sadly I think the Black Network mistook him for myself, the poor chap..."
Outside, you hear the faint sound of the shuffling of feet, clanking of mail, and hushed official sounding instructions. Fluttercloak quickly removes his cloak, securing the paintings underneath the straps of his backpack, and hastily begins to redress, mimicking, "Guard!"Kalmar, the silver bars are quite heavy (10lbs each, 150 total), the full weight put you just over encumbrance, and Fluttercloak reaches out his hands, eyes bright.

"Well, Renaer, lucky for you, our friend Kal here is the best debt collector to have ever set foot in this city," Ringo says. Upon hearing the noise outside he looks over at Kalmar, "I don't like the sound of that Kal. We should grab our friend here and get a move on. Flutter, you see anything?"
Kalmar hands one of the silver bricks to FC Let’s go, into the sewers. We don’t want the guard involved in this. Quickly now. He says quietly but urgently as he heads toward the exit.
((To be clear, there isn't an entry to the sewer in this building; you figure there are entries at various points on the street.))
Ranaer wordlessly nods, eyes wide. Fluttercloak hastily stows the last of the bars in his cloak and darts to the window, looking out and clucking his beak frustratedly. Just then, a townsguard bursts in through the warehouse, followed by nearly a dozen more. A few barked orders and a small retinue surrounds Fluttercloak, weapons drawn. The captain approaches Ringo and Kalmar, his posture ramrod straight. "Oy! What's all this then?!"
