Drako let's the other members of the party handle interactions with the robed drow. If it looks like the party is considering selling out, Drako will remind them of their promise. If the man doesn't back down, he will rise up and try to intimidate him, telling him to stop pestering the group. However Drako doesn't want it to come to that.
When the fancy elf makes his offer, Saba laughs out loud. Oh, honey, I bet you think you do everything handsomely! When she's laughed enough at her own joke, she sits a little straighter. I'm sorry sir, I am sure you are someone important and all, but it is so cute how you thought that would work. She ticks off some innocuous facts: Shimmering Hope. She's a galleon, biggest in the harbor. Square rigged at the fore and main masts, lanteen at the mizzen. Big poop deck (can't help but laugh every time) and crow's nests look to be built for fighting. Sailing for Orlumbar. I think they expect trouble. Then she holds out her hand for payment.

Aethos stares, mouth a gape at Saba.
Whispering below his breath to Saba, "I thinkst thou doth say too much Saba. No more I implore thee."
Turning to the suspicious looking Dark Elf, Aethos politely states, "Our business is our own Sir. I must apologise, I did not hear thine name. Dost thou happen to haveth business with the Shimmering Hope?"
Not being the brightest in the group, Drako smirks at Saba's witty interaction. Hearing what the others say, he relaxes, knowing that the party won't sell out.
The drow shrugs and laughs. "Well played," and takes about twenty gold pieces. "A true opportunist. However, " he adds, "I'll throw in another three if you deliver a message to Eliadra. Tell her Jarlaxle knows her expedition and what its for."He grins again. "I sincerely hope that you survive to return. I would very much love to match wits with you again, fair lady. 'tis a shame you are not a Drow." He tosses another five to her.
Aethos, you can't really tell what he intends. The normal telltale signs are hard to read. The man is brash and graceful. His eyes are always moving, never truly making direct eye contact with anyone except Saba.
Not a few moments later, you are approached with a hooded figure. "Rumor has it that Shimmering Hope is setting sail soon," he says. "Xanathar is highly interested in obtaining a pair of eyes on the ship."
Aethos visibly gulps at Ephraim's words, "Ephraim, if thoust ever get the urge to study any other parts of the... ummm... anatomy. I beg of thee to omit myself from such... studies."
Drako scowls when he hears Xanathar's name but doesn't say anything. He knew about the crime lord and it was his dream to one day end the beholder's crimes. However, he knew very well that he had no hope of beating Xanathar in a fight right now so he has to get stronger.
Virn watches the interactions with drow (does his passive insight of 16 net him anything regarding motivation?) and the hooded figure. He suspects Xanathar, if not both of them, already have eyes and ears in place with Eliadra's superiors, and probably know more than they do, but he says nothing, playing up his drinking a little -- and reinforcing it with actual drink.
"You chose . . . wisely," the stranger said. Its voice changed to a fair, commanding voice as the figure pulled her hood back. "Well done," Eliadra said. "It seems that my concerns of secrecy have no merit."
Pocketmouse: its hard to tell with his body language, but the key word "opportunist" does bring a sense of moral ambiguity - he's only looking out for something he can benefit from.

At every session, I say, "Everyone's here, except Waluigi."
A little disconcerted by this sudden entrance, "Lady Doorhall... what a pleasant surprise! Allow me to fetch a drink for you. What does the lady prefer?"
Saba is surprised, she really thought this was turning into a sequence of info seekers. Oh, ma'am, you missed the first chance we had to sell out. A fancy elfy-boots creep said
[best imitation] "deliver a message to Eliadra. Tell her Jarlaxle knows her expedition and what its for."
He was completely lacking subtlety, even for the kind of grunts I'm used to. I don't think he could count, or he has no care for money or something. I said as you said, shipping for Orlumbar.

"I'm here to insure none of you say anything stupid," Eliadra added tartly. "I'll have a simple glass of water." She smiled, and then frowned as she heard Jarlaxle's name. "Yes. Jarlaxle is the leader of Bregan D'aerthe, a criminal guild. He's the reason we're in the mess we're in about the Paradise Isles. Curse his opportunism!" Her fingers curled into fists as she said that last phrase. "I will carve out his heart with that pathetic feather he wears in his hat! Led to the disappearance of my bro-" She stops short. "If you see him again, do me a favor, and detach his head from his shoulders."
Saba lifts an eyebrow at "paradise isles" then thinks for a bit on how to address it. Queitly to Eliandra: Ma'am, who's insuring what you do? Did you just say a phrase you shouldn't? I couldn't spill that name if I hadn't heard it. Jarlaxle didn't use it. That's the first time we heard it and I wish we hadn't

Ephraim gets visibly excited.
Oh my! And I would love a chance to study some eye stalks! I can carry them for him if he'd like.
Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
Corbin nearly chokes on his drink at Ephraim's response.
"What does Xanathar expect to see? As far as I know, Eliadra has hired our entire selves, eyes included."
Aethos visibly gulps at Ephraim's words, "Ephraim, if thoust ever get the urge to study any other parts of the... ummm... anatomy. I beg of thee to omit myself from such... studies."

Ephraim smiles kindly and says 100% seriously Oh, don't worry young man. I only study what you're not using anymore.

Ephraim looks rather disappointed. No chance of getting those eye stalks then?

Aethos reels back with added emphasis, addressing Ephraim he says, "Dontst thou dare! I am still very much using mine!", before cracking a wry smile.
Turning to Eliadra, Aethos looks relieved, "What didst I say my lady? I never had a doubt in my companions!"
Dropping his voice he continues his face growing stern, "Pray tell my good lady, doest thou knowst the name Jarlaxle at all?"
