"I've never been shot before! Am I supposed to yank it out, or leave it in? Anyone know? I don't know which bothers me more: the hole in my leg, or the hole in my pants!"
Ethan hears Arvel mention his wound and damaged cloths and looks up from his investigation.
"Oh I can help with the whole in the pants. Once Elra has finished with you, I can mend the whole. You won't even be able to tell there was a whole, afterwards."
Tarja bounds over to the edge of the escarpment, and looks around at the scene. Sensing no more enemy movement (Perception: 14 ) she gives one last howl, slowly relaxes, turns back to dwarf form, and wipes the goblin blood off of her now-dwarf face. With a bit of exhaustion, she sits down at the edge of the escarpment.
Whoa. I've known I would be strong as a wolf... but that was still unexpectedly exhilarating.
Seeing that her companions appear to be in good health, she looks at the obstruction in the road, to see if their wagons would be able to navigate it safely. What is it? (Investigation? 15)
Tarja gets a front row seat as Elra's powerful blast of radiant energy kills the other sleeping goblin before it even has the chance to wake again. Meanwhile the last goblin ducks away from Zeke and jumps off the ledge (Disengage) and tries to flee across the road to the north, but the tiefling is swiftly on top of him once more and removes the goblin's head from his body with one smooth sweep of his kwando.
Finnan and Farnin are a ways back at this point, but slowly raise up from the cover of the wagon with their bows when Arvel calls back. The two quickly jump back into their driver's seats and start bringing the wagons up, preferring the protection of the party over being left behind.
As the party begins to take a closer look at their surroundings they find several things of note. Just east of the choke point and north of the road, Zeke finds a small trail heading off into the woods to the north. Only about ten feet up the trail he finds three more dead goblins that look like they've been tossed one on top of another in a low ditch. Even a quick glance up close reveals that they have mortal slashing wounds and have been here for at least a day or two between the wounds and the debris that has accumulated on them. (DC10 Survival check to learn more.)
Tarja thinks the horses will need to be moved for the wagons to get by. More interestingly, inspection of the animals now that the party can get close reveal that each has a number of black goblin arrows sticking out of them and each had their throats slit right here where they lie. Both have saddles and a torn but familiar cloak is caught under one of them. It is a dark red cloak with a red gryphon on it, the one Sildar wore the evening before.
As Ethan and the rest inspect the bodies of the goblins whose ambush they spoiled they find leather armor, a shortbow and a dagger on each. Various coins from coppers to a few golds yield a total of 24 gold once it is all collected. One goblin has two unique pieces of jewelry in his pocket, one with a small emerald and the other with a small sapphire. (DC10 straight INT check to learn more, Advantage for Ethan.)

Elra grabs the arrow and looks to Arvel, "Alright, this is going to hurt, but I'll heal it afterwords. I don't want to heal it with the arrow inside. On three alright? One...Two," Elra pulls the arrow out and drops it on the ground. After that she puts her hand on Arvel's wound and closes her eyes, praying to Oghma to heal the wound. (Cure Wounds10)

Seeing Sildar’s cloak, Tarja is horrified and jumps down to take a closer look.
She looks at the bodies of the goblins (Survival: 9) and the horses. Maybe they were killed in the same fight, did Sildar get ambushed here and fight back?
Sorry guys - tried to fix his Athletics roll and screwed it up - Apparently Zeke is exhausted from the fight :)
Zeke pitches in and drags the horse corpses out of the path. Seeing Sildar's cloak, Zeke grimaces 'Looks like our friends ran into some trouble here. Hoping that since their bodies aren't here, they only lost their horses, but that doesn't seem likely.'
He then roams further ahead to make sure nothing else awaits them in the road ahead - including the bodies of their sponsors....
Seeing that Arvel was in very capable hands, Fae couldn't help but chuckle a little at his shout. She knew that pain well from yesterday. Elra's beautiful strikes were very inspiring to Fae today, she'd be making mental note to sketch her last snap in her journal tonight. She'd be happy to leave Ethan to the supplies he desired from the goblins.
Fae would be more interested in what Zeke and Tarja were reacting too. She'd approach the horses to take a look. Spotting the cloak, her brows would furrow with concern. "Would they have been taken?"
Fae would nod in agreement to Arvel. After a moment of reflecting, she'd take one more quick walk around to pick up any items if no one else does. She'd pick up the cloak that resembles Sildar's; she'd gather all the coin to distribute evenly amongst the group; she'd help herself to a dagger if Ethan doesn't take it for parts before taking her place back in the cart.
Ethan recognizes the gem laden jewelry found in the goblin's pocket as having been two of Gundren's multitude of adornments, and also estimates that each would be worth about 10g if one is interested in that sort of thing. When Zeke and Elra spot them in Ethan's hand, they recognize the same without need for any word.
The observant Fae joins Zeke on the newly discovered trail and, after moving a few leaves out of the way and finding a muddy spot, catches on quickly to a pattern that reveals many goblin footprints going back and forth. Marks also clue the pair into larger items, or possibly humanoids, having been dragged along the path. Lastly in the mud Fae sees a tiny sparkle and discovers a small treasure much the same as Ethan has just found back out on the road. It is a small amethyst adorned piece of jewelry that is similarly familiar, having been worn by Gundren three nights back (also 10g in value).
Having brought the wagons up just shy of the horses Finnan hears the party's findings and remarks "ahhh, I hate to be, ah, insensitive about Mr. Rockbreaker and all, but are we still gettin' paid if they dragged him off to feed to the dragon, or spiders, or spider dragons? Is that a thing? Any of you wizards got that in one of yer books? Anyway, I'm not askin' for me per say, but these girls don't eat fer free!"

Zeke looks up sharply at the Halflings in the drivers' seats, making his displeasure at their attitude evident.
'We need to move and move quickly, no telling what shape they are in or how long these creatures have had them. Not sure we can take the wagons with us - but I don't love the idea of leaving them behind either.'
He looks at the wagons and the halflings with an appraising eye, sizing them up and then quickly scanning the terrain for any place to tuck them in relatively out of sight and off the road.
'If we can hide these somewhere can any of you Wizard types help them blend in or keep them any safer?'
