Saerirra smiled at Peshley's suggestion, always happy to play for people, and relishing any opportunity to.
"Of course, I will do what I can."
She pulls out her flute and begins playing a moderately paced tune that sounds something like you'd hear when a ship is casting off. A "bon voyage" type of tune, as it were, with a touch of a mother's comfort added in to help make the souls' journeys in passing as pleasant as possible.
(OOC: not arguing with the god :) Disregard, please, throwing bodies off of the cliff)
Normally, Laievis would not bury an animal with prayers but those poor creatures had to be cleansed! A few drops of holy water and soft words about forgiveness and mercy of Meryn, one who sees us all - big or small - had to help hyenas souls to reach their heaven wherever that could be. Saerirra's music made the whole ceremony look solemn and sincere.

Saerirra's music made the whole ceremony look solemn and sincere.
As Saerirra plays a sad, yet inspiring tune, Laeivis invokes the Grace of Meryn to save the souls of the enslaved Hyenas.
Both him and Saerrira see a dark and firey pit open under the 4 hyena corpses, radiating with Evil energy. Two Huge demon arms appear out of the pit, and start grabbing their souls...
"Meryn, have mercy on these poor beasts' souls..."
Suddenly, the skies part, and a Ray of Divine Light pierces through the Night, illuminating the entire scene. Slowly, the Hyenas' souls get snatched away from the Demon Arms, and lifted into the air, turning into Celestial Beings of light. The Hyena souls sprout Angel wings, and each start playing celestial music on small harps.
The "Alpha" looks down to Laeivis and Saerirra, as it soars towards the Heavens, and smiles. Not the evil and twisted cackling that youve previously experienced, but a warm and kind smile. Before it finally disappears into the sky, it bows to you and says "Thank you"
Saerirra has a proud smile across her face and she holds her flute to her chest in her hands, bowing her head to the departed souls. She looks to Laeivis.
"We did a very good thing. Even savage beasts do not deserve such fates as those poor souls. May Merryn guide them to a pleasant eternal rest."
She then returns to her tent, removing her dress as before to keep it neat before bedding down for the night.
Cade - After seeing Uther utterly devastate that large hyena and the other hyenas take off hears Uther call out and absentmindedly says, "I'm okay.", Cade then takes several deep breaths in order to calm himself from the ordeal of the attack...and just as he is feeling better he hears heavy breathing like a panting behind him and suddenly there is a snout next to him and he becomes startled just to only realize that it was Baron. He hugs the fluffy dog and after the embrace he sees Laievis, Saerirra, and Peshley perform a burial for the fallen hyenas...though they were attacking them not moments prior Cade could see from where he stood the reverence and beauty of the moment. Afterwards he returned to his tent and disrobed to which he sat in quiet contemplation in his tent until it was his turn to sit watch, though he did so without actually paying attention being too deep in thought...luckily Baron was happy to keep him company. Once relieved he exchanged some small pleasantries in passing by yet seemingly not even taking note as to who replaced him. Sleep seemed to not come to him as he kept thinking about the attack from the hyenas and realized that, "This is only the start!". He awoke to a slobbery tongue licking his face to which he said to Baron, "I'm up. I'm up.", looking around he sees the armor that he bought, he then slips over himself and though the material is very light it somehow feels heavy on him...almost as if he shouldn't be wearing it at all. He makes sure to give Baron some food and then walks over towards the campfire waiting for the others to wake.
Uther wakes up, he seems to have dreamt of Saerirra playing the flute, he smiles at the dream. He stretches then gets dressed and walks out of the tent.
He goes to attend to Taranonn, feeding her some grass and grooming her. "Thats a good girl" he whispers.
He then sits by Cade, "Mr. Overhill how was your night ? "

Cade - Looking towards Uther who had just sat down and asked him a normal question Cade had found once again a to struggle to find any words...he was able to force some out though by saying, "Long. I didn't get much sleep." Looking into the fire his thoughts went back to the ritualistic burning of the hyena corpses he had witnessed and said, "Did you see the service that was held by the others? It was...interesting.", Without waiting for a reply Cade looked at Uther and took notice of his battle axe he pointed to it and asked, "Have you given it a name? The way you used it while defending yourself from the hyenas and it's ability to inflict such damage it might make for a more interesting story if it had a name."
"We did a very good thing. Even savage beasts do not deserve such fates as those poor souls. May Merryn guide them to a pleasant eternal rest."
- May their souls know eternal peace, - ecoed Laievis, finishing the ceremony.
Next morning Laievis was particularly quiet (not much of a difference but still). If he ever needed an evidence of Meryn's attention to this world, kind and caring attention - he had it yesterday night. Something loved so much can not be all bad, can it?
He prayed to Meryn, as usual and joined others at the breakfast. One thing - aside from the miracle he witnessed at night - was bothering him.
- There is a demon on the loose in these lands, - reminded he to others, - not sure how one prepares himself to meet a demon, but at least we are warned.
When Saerirra wakes up she exits her tent, stretches a bit and gives everyone awake at the time a cheerful "Morning." still not having put her dress on yet as she walks over next to the waterfall, standing in shallow water and using her bar of soap to wash herself as best she can without removing her wrapping or getting them wet.
Afterwards, she returns to her tent to slip back into her dress and return to the group for breakfast. Her smile fades when she sees Laeivis in deep thought and none too happy, despite the great deed we pulled off during the night. "What's wrong Laeivis? Something off about the food? Or is it something else?"

(The part about the snow being up to the horse's bellies is news to me. Maybe as high as Peshley's shorter pony, but Taranonn is on the large side, so that would be a stretch. Also, I think if anyone would be fine bathing in this, it would be me. Plus, I think the DM just said there was a blizzard during the night, so who's to say that it lasted til morning? But a funny thought either way. :) )
"A demon? Hmmm.......yes I suppose only a demon or something like that could have done what was done to those poor animals. And clearly whoever, or whatever, did that to them wants us dead. They came right into the cave as if they knew we would be here, or if they were watching us."
As Uther sits by the fire with Cade, he sees Saerirra walk out to the water, still undressed, he feels his heart beating. 'What devine beauty is this' he thinks to himself. Something happens to him everytime he sees her, he still cannot explain what it is.
He snaps out of it as she exits the cave. He looks back to Cade "this is but the nail of the beast, there will be more to come. Much more." He quietly stares at the fire then replies to Cade's questions. " i must have missed it, though i dreamt of Saerirra playing her flute."
"This axe has been with me for years, it was forged by one if the finest blacksmiths of my clan." He raises is over the fire to examine it " Yet i have not found the name it deserves. Perhaps on our journey the right name will come." He gave Cade a heavy pat on the back then got up to ready his belongings for fhe days journey.
"Do we continue on our path or should we try to track the fleeing hyenas? They might lead us to who ever sent them to us. " he asks the group once they have conveyed and are ready to embark.

"It's clear those beasts were sent with intent to kill us. We have to find out who sent them as soon as possible, so if everyone thinks following them as they flee is the best way to do that, then I say we do that. However, by now they have to have a good 8 hour head start on us, so we might not be able to even find them again. Hmmm....I think we should all look around the area for any sign of anything having been here besides us, the hyenas, and of course, the dwarven family that unfortunately met their end here."
Saerirra begins looking over a large area outside the cave, looking at trees, behind bushes, looking everywhere for any possible sign of activity.

Cade - Seeing the group talking decides to ask, "Do we think these hyena that attacked us have anything to do with the Gnolls that attacked Turniptown? From remembering what I have read regarding battles with Gnolls they typically go after weaker targets so that they can feed their eternal hunger curse. These hyena seemed to think that we too were a weaker target if that were the case then perhaps the Gnolls aren't too far away." Looking at each of the group after the suggestion to search the immediate area, "Are we still planning to make our trip to Turniptown?". While waiting for an answer Cade will also look around and see if he finds anything.

"Of course we're going to Turniptown. We can't leave the poor people there at the mercy of the Gnolls. We have to help them. At the very least, maybe find means of taking them somewhere safer, if Turniptown is essentially lost. They may likely have a cart, or at least, have the means to make one, and Taranonn could pull it, taking at least a few people, depending on the size of the cart."
