"hmm.. okay, 8-bit" Ankor puts the Modron down and looks around to the other members standing around. With a thud he hits a closed fist against his chest, "Names Ankor Iron Might, not sure how we all came about being here. But if the gods put us here there's a damn good reason for it." Turning to the Gith captain "Are there any other members of your crew or is this the lot of us?"

Eight-Bit's body make a couple of minute whirring noises as it returns hastily to mopping the deck, its motions somewhat non-synchronous, possibly due to its "repaired" body.
The giff keeps his eyes ahead, taking the appearance that he is in full control of the vessel, although the party know better. "This is it for now." He explains. "Myself, the first mate." He nods at Eight-Bit, "And now yourselves, welcome able-bodied sailors." The ship groans very slightly as it continues to sail across. "Apart from those present, there have been those little blob-reptillians, and before that some sort of..." Captain Obaysch trails off, then after a handful of seconds shakes his head. "Where was I? Ah yes, it's time to make a decision. Do we attempt to sail this through one of those archways?" He gestures with one thick hand towards the archways previously mentioned.
After 8-ball is let down, Zack continues his note taking. He nods and mutters to himself, "Interesting".
When the captain talks about the situation of the crew and asks if the ship should sail through an archway, Zack looks up at the captain, then he looks around at the others and decides that he would go with whatever decision the others take and then returns to his notes.
(@PLaddy: That's fine for her. So long at its something, and she'll endeavor to get a better one in the future.)
"It seems inevitable then that we will have to investigate such portals. If not for supplies, or possible clues into the Shattering. Your igniter included, Captain Obaysch."Tefkae said without turning away from Ankor. Ever since the goliath picked up the 8-bit, the forged one had their sights on him. They scans everyone else, and seems to nod to herself. "Inquiry: Would there be time for a short recovery period prior to trying one of these archways without those anomalies immediately mounting another assault upon this vessel?"The requests.

Zack looks up and with a hand partially raised he says, "I second the idea of taking a short rest before going into the portal. That is, if we are sure the goo-raptors don't attack us again" before going back to note-taking.
"Well it looks like we've got some time for one." Captain Obaysch comments. "Everyone, get your equipment polished and up to snuff and we shall be ready to continue shortly."
Eight-Bit lifts its mop from the ground, the blackness of the soaked-in creature now gone. It carries its mop over its shoulder as it begins to head back to the hole it climbed out of earlier.

Some minutes into the resting session, Zack closes his book and puts it back into the backpack, seemingly done taking notes. He remains seated and checks the extent of damage done to him by the acid spit. (Using Second Wind since I will get it back after Short rest: 11) He concludes that it's nothing to worry about. He then spends the rest of the time thinking of the battle and what spells he used or could have used (Arcane Recovery to regain spent spell slot) and looking around at the scenery, the other party members and the captain.

"Thank you, Captain." On the heel of a final bow, Tefkae tries to find a spot closer to the helm that would allow them to keep sight on the others and any danger in at least an absent-minded capacity. Though the majority of their focus seemed to be on using some minute and sometimes many-faceted tools from her belt to clean, replace, and/or gradually adjusts things in place. If there was any question about who nature earlier, those that observe can catch sight of some clothing being shifted away to expose more mechanical parts for maintenance.
During the last few minutes of the rest, the mechanical hunter pulls out a lyre from a bag on their person far too small to contain the thing. Yet somehow, an unblemished but simply made instrument is casually set upon by nimble fingers. There was no warning, or seeming rhyme or reason for it. But whenever they stumble over a note, something sparks in either head or hands, immediately setting them closer on course. At other times the sparks emitted crackle in tune with the song, or a lyric in a more masculine voice is sung by Tefkae.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pepper tries to creeps away to have a look around at things below deck.
The rest goes on with the melodic strumming of Tefkae's lute, the tune bleeding out into the infinite emptiness. The giff captain continues to stand at the helm, watching the path the ship is taking through the astral sea. After everyone has spent a decent amount of time resting, Captain Obasych clears his throat. "Well, crew, I think the time has come to decide what our course of action is." He gestures to the smattering of ruins that they have slowly been moving towards. "Now up ahead we have another port of call. There may be more little critters, or even survivors like yourselves. Now, chop-chop, we need to prepare for any potential salvaging before our journey through one of the arches."
Zack stands up and moves near the rest of the group. He stays at the back. He doesn't want to be at the front and being too far away from everyone else makes him feel awkward. So he just stands at the back and tries to keep out of everyone's way. He readies a Chill Touch in case of enemy attack.
"I see. A wise decision, Captain, as we may not exit the same way we enter." Tefkae will take up a rear position to for any potential ruins boarding party. Meanwhile, Mr. Pepper slinks his way back topside and hovers about near Ankor, seeming to toy with aiding him in the next fight. "Warning. This one has noted that the creatures involved are not very resilient, but resistance to most common weaponry. Err on the side of caution if encountered is recommended."

Mr. Pepper returns to Tefkae's side. The adorable tressym informs that beneath deck the ship is in a barely manageable state, the wood rotten in multiple locations and patched up with bare essentials that keep it afloat. The modron with a mop is beneath deck and constantly going from one leaky area to another, using its mop to clean around them and then pulls a tiny shred of the mop's head off to bung up the holes.
During the short rest Ankor watches as Dr. Pepper hangs around him. (OOC: Not sure if that spoiler was meant for Ankor or Tefkae since Dr. Pepper is it's familiar) speaking up to the captain "I agree, some supplies before making our way is best for now, and whatever hostile creature makes it self known, if they are smart enough, will quickly rethink their decision" Ankor once again hits his closed fist to his chest with a loud thud. " As for the rest of you all. I haven't caught all your names, captain I know and this here belongs to you." Pointing at Dr. Pepper and looking at Tefkae "cat with wings...mechanical shipmates...a sea that twinkles like the stars above the mountains back home. This place is very much strange to me, it will take me a while to sort out it's balance."

With the group rested and their equipment prepped, the ship slowly drifts beside the outcrops of old worked stone. "Now then, chaps." Captain Obaysch calls the group to attention. "We will not dither too long. The task is simple, search these outcrops for any scraps and things of use." He heads to one side of the ship and pulls out of another hole what appears to be a series of black tangled rope. "I shall keep guard over our mode of transport while you use your keen eyes on locating anything useful or potential threats. Hop to it now." With that, he hurls one end of the rope over part of the broken stone, then ties the other end to the ship, tethering it in place.
SKILL CHALLENGE!
Anyone and everyone can contribute into this skill challenge. You can do either one of the following for this mini-montage:
Search the ruins for any items. This will let you use either Investigation or Survival to check for such things.
Watch for potential threats. This will use Perception to ensure that nothing creeps up on those scavenging for resources.
Aid one of the above (effectively forfeiting your roll) to give them advantage on their check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zack will stay near the back and keep an eye on the ruins to make sure they don't get surprise attacked. He will also keep a Chill Touch Ready in case something pops up.
"Correction. Dr. Pepper belongs to Dr. Pepper. Reintroduction: My name is Tefkae." They would have said to Ankor, snapping into a crisp but foreign to most salute. Meanwhile, Dr. Pepper returns to Tefkae's shoulder, seeming to understand Ankor's discomfort at the moment.
Present:
"Understood, Captain." Is the warforged final words prior to disembarking for the search, determined to pick the ruins clean with the aid of Dr. Pepper, at the very least. Even then, a hand is never too far from the smaller 'rife' at her side, or a dagger depending on immediate surroundings.
