Hey, I tried right? he says, defensively, but not offended-ly, offering an awkward laugh just before Nadaar cuts in about a rope. Ironically enough, Zack had been thinking the same thing, but just before he volunteered his own, Nadia cut in providing her own, and asking for help, at which point he cleared his throat, shoved his sword tip into the ground, nearby and knealt down to assist her in the tying. (Since no one else rolled! : 18) and then watching her carry the gobliness to a cupboard.
And I'd say she was more scared than Loco.. unless thats what loco means? She was putting on a bluff to scare us away I think. But allright, lets keep moving....Waiting until Nadia finished placing the goblin in the cupboard before doing so, and then, once again, moving to the 'next' building in line. (Stealth: 6).

21 perception roll advantage as zack would likely be helping
Before moving to the next building, Nadaar searches the sack for any valuables. Inside he finds a few more food items, blocks of cheese, several more muffins a cooked chicken. There enough food for 3 more days of rations for one person or one for each of you. You also find some cooks utensils, a bullseye lantern, 2 flasks of oil, a frying pan, a pot, a dented silver jug, a jar of saffron,, a jar of cloves, and a cracked hour glass. The spices and silver you know will be worth some decent coin and the hourglass might be worth good coin too if it's fixed.
Nadia and Zack, while stowing away the Goblin you can't help but notice a distinct lack of any ranged weapon on Gum-Gum. Looking around, no bow or cross bow is found in the kitchen either. Nadia, the image of the Goblin in the other room with a fresh arrow in its heart is still fresh in your mind.

With exception of the flasks of oil, bullseye lantern, and foods, the rest he leaves in the sack. If given funny looks for take anything, Nadaar merely grins sheepishly. "Just borrowing lantern and oil in case there are gonna be basement's involved. And it its never good to waste perfectly good food." He says, chomping down into the chicken after sliding the rest of the food into his pack. Temptation would prompt him to look back at the more monetary worth items on the way out. He shakes his head however, dismissing the idea almost as quickly as he took up the longsword and followed after Zack.

Having noticed the lack of a ranged weapon... this prompts Zack to alter his plans.... While Nadia could probably see in the dark, if his guess was correct, Nadaar and himself, could not... Zack would whisper to Nadia, who he could tell also noticed the lack of weapon, So... Maybe before moving on, we should look around just a bit more... if shedidn't do it... then someone else might have... Maybe an ally.. hopefully not an enemy. Hey, Nadaar... Since you got that lamp anyway..... Mind being my light while i keep my weapon at the ready... just in case? Sadly mine requires both to be used properly.... Shuffling from there back into the main rooms entrance, waiting for Nadaars response.
Nadia's lips thin when the realization sets in that Gum-Gum didn't have a ranged weapon on her, a seed of doubt planting itself in the back of her mind. "Yeah... I'm good with that." Nadia nods, then throws in, "Thank you for the help with the knotting... Oh! And loco means crazy by the way, you know, for future reference." As you come to the top of the landing there are two doors to either side of you. Behind you on the same level are two more doors. Starting the the closest door you swing it open and tuck behind the wall. You wait a moment but hear no movement inside. Nadia, as you peek inside you see that the Northwest Croner of the room is destroyed and exposed to open air. This is likely the result of the boulder in the kitchen below you. The rest of the room seems to have survived however. On the eastern wall there is a tapestry depicting a mountain landscape. In the southeast corner there is a check underneath a window. Beyond those things nothing else stands out as being unual or interesting.
You check the next room across from that, in the same manner Zack opens the door and takes cover. After not hearing anything Nadia uses her superior vision to look inside. This bedroom contains two beds, a wardrobe, a desk, and a matching chair. An oil lamp sits on one corner of the desk, and another rests on a small table tucked between the two beds. A bearskin rug lies on the floor.
You check the room to the north east, keeping the same routine. One again nothing is heard and it appears this room is identical to the last room you were in.
You head to the final room to the southeast part of the building. Zack Swings open the door and listens for any movement but hears none. Nadia steathfully peers into the room. Nadia, you see the floor and the ceiling have a huge hole in it. You safely assume this is from the boulder in the main room of the tavern. The room is littered with debris, the only surviving furniture is a desk and matching chair. Behind the desk you see the figure of a either a human or half elven female. She is clearly trying to hide though from her lack of reaction to you, she either doesn't notice you or believes herself to be suitably hidden.
Nadia gives Zack an affirming nod, understanding what he meant, just hoping he could be as silent as she could be. He didn’t do awfully at least, and they managed to search the building in an efficient manner without any surprises. However, upon peering into the room the fighter had just opened, she notices the figure, even squinting her eyes to make sure she wasn’t just seeing things.
She bit the bottom of her lip, and hoped with what little lighting the moon gave them that Zack would understand her when she lifted one finger to him, mouthing the words “One person” then pointing to the room, following up with a nod as if to say “Check it out, I got your back” As she motions to her drawn bow.
Although still very much enscorcelled in some inner thoughts, Nadaar had at least lit the lantern at some point. The eye of which he had shuttered for a narrower beam to avoid drawing too much attention. By the time the duo reach the last room, and at least catching part of the signal of 'person', the Dragonborn merely offered the lantern to Zack, signalling during the exchange of it being possible to clip to his belt. Whether accepted or not, Nadaar hangs back, knowing all too well how dangerous most civilian humanoids tended to be when already stressed enough by events. And being what he was, getting mistaken for a Lizardfolk and subsequently shot for the third time in his life.... was not exactly a dream worth fulfilling any time soon.

Zack would nod at Nadia, and was about to head inside, when Nadaar offered him the lamp. Nodding his thanks, and taking note of the beltability, he would take a moment to do just that, making sure the beam was facing as 'forward' as possible. Then taking his sword, to use as much as he had with the worg, as a Defensive Shield, he would make his way into the room. Slowly. Every few words, he'd take a step inside, trying to make himself as un-threatening as possible (Performance?: 17)
Taking a clue from what Nadia had told him about it being a 'person,' he'd say Hey.. hey.. We're not here to hurt you. I'm a Human. My half-elven friend spotted you.. wherever you are he said, whether he could see them or not, trying to make them feel more at ease, and safe in that he might not know where they are at the moment. I also have a dragonborn friend just around the corner of the door. My name's Zack... We just stumbled into town a little bit ago... We came for the thing about diplomatic relations.. which you may or may not know about... We didn't expect to find the town destroyed when we got here... We're good guys...I promise. We've been looking for any survivors, and you're the first we've found. (Persu: 13)
He would continue to make his way into the room until he was fully inside the door.
Zack, as you step into the room you see movement from behind the desk, about 10ft slightly off to your left. As the figure stands up and into the moonlight, you see a Human female with pale skin and blonde hair dressed in tattered leathers and a robe pointing a hand crossbow at you. Once you are fully in the room and she is able to see you better you see her start to lower the crossbow, but quickly raises it again after you finish speaking. "There's three of you? OK then, you're Zack? Who are the others?" She lowers the crossbow again, no longer pointing it at you but letting it hang lazily at her side. "You're not Goblins, or Giants for that matter. I'm Kella. You weren't followed were you?"
Zack nods. keeping the sword at the ready initially, but only to block, until she herself lowers the bow. After-which, he steps, mostly, out of it's cover. Nadia, the half-elf, and Nadaar, the dragonborn. Hopefully they won't smack me upside the head too-hard for introducing them. Zacks brow quirks at the mention of giants. No. I'm sure the corpse you left in the main hall didn't follow us, and the other one was taken care of. We also have reason to believe there's not many Goblins in the area, though if you could confirm whether or not they were a part of what happened here... he said, waiving one hand to indicate the town/assault ...just so we can see if the info we got before matches up. As I said, we came here cause some courier was passing out medallions or whatever you call it and telling everyone something about tensions between the elves... and .. when we got here.. well.. I'm sure you're more aware than us. I mean. what happened here.. the attack I mean? You mentioned giants... that would explain the boulders.... I suppose.. but.. when? and why this place?
Zack had visibly begin to relax at this point, and got more into the swing of questioning. Sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions but, the more we know.. the better, I think. Also.. we killed the two worgs outside, though most of the credit goes to Nadia and Nadaar for it. Also are you a citizen here or were you passing through? Or did you also come here because of this? he says, digging out the trinket from the courier, about the 'job' to show her he meant it. And do you know if anyone went to the keep? Everywhere else we've been has been abandoned.. until now. We also managed to trick some of the goblins into working for us... they're currently guarding the front gate.. thanks to Nadaars honeyed words he tells her, mostly to prevent future issues should the two come charging up, or they meet later, and hoping his honesty will help maintain her trust in the future.
Zacks eyebrows shoot up as he remembers a bit with embarrassment And it's nice to meet you Kella, Glad you survived long enough for us to find you.
At the bombardment of questions she stops to think of where to start. Kellan puts the crossbow on top of the desk and sits in the chair. "The village was attacked by giants about three days ago. They had a flying castle, they flew right over the town and starting bombarding the place with boulders. It became clear to most people to flee right away. I'm a travelling monk and was staying in this room the day of the attack. I had intended to flee but a rock came crashing through my roof and I passed out. When I woke up everyone was gone including the giants. I think before I was knocked out I saw people fleeing north from the gate, though I suppose it's possible some made it to the keep though the keep was hit pretty badly. When I woke up I noticed the Nightstone in the center of town was missing, I assume the giants took it. I wanted to flee but I must have injured my leg, as I've been unable to move very far at all. I've been resting it the last 3 days, only going as far as the kitchen to get food. I had felt like I might be able to walk to the stable and get a horse with which to flee but then the Goblins came around midday and so I've been hiding here.I changed my plans to flee at night fall, but then I saw the gate close, I suppose I have you to thank for that? Anyway I had gotten frustrated with my shit luck, and cursed myself for it. That's when that damn one eyed Goblin below us heard me and saw me. I shot him before he could warn his friend but then immediately you folks showed up. I was hoping to just stay hidden long enough for the Goblins to leave, then maybe limp my way to the stables. Now...well I'm not sure."
She pauses a moment to take out a water skin from her pouch and takes a long drink. You notice for the first time that wrapped around her arm is a snake with, relatively speaking, large leathery wings. You also take this moment to note that besides the crossbow she appears to be armed with a shortsword. After she finished her drink she continues.
"Anyway I don't think the Goblins had anything to do with the attack. They merely took an opportunity to get some easy loot without risking their lives. Though on that front I may have a proposition for you, but we will get to that in a bit. I have some questions for you first, since I answered yours. Oh and I almost forgot, Yes, I had heard about the Lady's political issues while I was in town and that she had been planing to hire outside help. Though it was not the reason I came, I had decided to stay a bit longer with the hope I could help. I hadn't gotten a chance to even meet Lady Nandar however, the Giants came first. I should have just left when I had planned and I might have missed all this." That last sentence she says in an exasperated tone. With a deep sigh she continues "But like I said, I have questions for the three of you. First off, where did you come from? Waterdeep perhaps? Or from somewhere south of here? If you came from Waterdeep, do the people or the nobles know what happened here? If you came from down south did you meet anyone on the road that mentioned the attack at all? I don't expect news has reached Daggerford, but I might have thought word had reached Waterdeep by now. But other than Goblins you're the first people I've seen since the attack. No one has come back, not even the villagers to see what has become of their town. One might start to think no one cares about what happens to this town."

As much as Nadaar had been remained leery of getting shot, introductions given were enough to warrant him stepping at least far enough inside the room to get a good look at the woman. But, not so far that he couldn't step in front of the door to bar in sudden attempt to flee it. Between nightfall and remaining goblins about, having a panic mon--person running about would do anyone any good. Try as he might, Nadaar could only resist flashing a toothy smirk Zack's way for the concern about introductions. A smirk that grew into nearly a full blown smile over the bombardment of questions, and mention of his own contributions.
However, It falters at the mention of traveling monk, and soon turned to one of speculation as draconic eyes wanderered the woman's form for reason other than lecherous. Although if she notices it, he plays it off as much before attention inevitable drifts back to the snake. "Or that they might be preoccupied with other things, if not merely cautious about a follow-up attack." Nadaar chimes in, kicking off a wall to stand up to his full height. "Either which way, with a concentrated effort, I'm sure they can be found again. BUT, you had a few fair questions for us, and I prattle."After making a bit of a show of clearing his throat behind a fist, he smiles again before speaking up. "South and a decent, DECENT ways to the east would be the case for this one. No, I cannot say any of us heard of another of the attack. And honestly that about covers it now, doesn't it?"
Nadaar chuckles and began tapping the hilt top of his longsword. "You know for a monk, you are fairly armed. And with a mechanically oriented weapon being accounted among them. From what I understand, those things are not exactly cheap." He says pleasantly. "Not to mention being quite the crackshot despite circumstances. Color me impressed, milady. That leg injury could not have made it easy to sneak into a safe position for the best shot." Nadaar expression loses the pleasant air ever so much as he squints at her. "Also, how could you be so.. certain of finding a horse? I imagine they should've all been the first to go during the initial panic, what with folk wanting the fastest route out. Wouldn't you agree?"
(To Rai: I see how it is. Trying to make me look bad about the goblins! j/k)

Kella shrugs at your comments. You see that she doesn't seem to be intimidated by your size at all and appears to be calm. "Only a fool travels unarmed when traveling alone. Roads are dangerous. A few years ago it was cultists wandering around the coast, now apparently Giants. Plus theres always bandits and other creatures to be wary of. I've done a fair bit of travelling and earned my share of coin, what weapons I choose to protect myself with is my business." You see she glaring at you while she speaks. Though its heard to tell if she is trying to be intimidating or show that she is not afraid of you or both. She relaxes a bit and continues, "But thank you, though I fear that shot was more dumb luck than any real skill on my part. I'm not a bad shot mind you but it was quite literally a shot in the dark. As for the horses, I didn't see anyone take any horses though I suppose they might have after I was knocked out. Honestly, I don't know if there are still horses or not. I was hoping there would be since I'm not sure I'll be able to limp my way to Waterdeep, a horse would be a life saver. If there's no horses then I suppose I'll be stuck here until I heal a bit more."
Nadaar, you don't detect any dishonesty in her tone of voice. She seems to be making sense though, it's possible you may still be suspicious, as far as you can tell she has been truthful thus far.
Kella leans back in her chair and fiddles with the crossbow on the desk. "Listen, you folks want to help this town and make some money doing it? If so I have a proposition for you."
Zack would chuckle at the back-and-forth between the two, shooting Nadaar a look before saying Haha.. Have something against us fighter types eh? Her story makes sense. Much like not trustign someone who shows up in the middle of the night, claiming to know where you were when it wasn't possible! But yeah.. he'd say, returning his attention to Kella who had since began speaking. Nodding periodically, and placing his fingers on his chin while she speaks As Nadaar says, unless one wasn't eaten by the worgs, it's safe to say your feet are the only horses you're gonna find here. I don't think we'd mind escorting you, though i don't feel the others would argue against it... i also can't see them willingly leaving someone behind.. they're noy that evil.. his elbow ribbing in their direction, making it clear it was an attempt at humor, So, what's this proposition?
As he finishes saying it, he lifts his sword, swinging it wide, to avoid hitting anyone, as it was placed on his back. Smirking at how silent Nadia had been so far.. perhaps she was shy with new people? or just overly cautious. Zack had heard all the parts about cultists, and such but that wasn't important now.. perhaps a conversation for later. But right now... they had to focus on the mission.

BUT, you had a few fair questions for us, and I prattle." After making a bit of a show of clearing his throat behind a fist, he smiles again before speaking up.

Azmodan
