"Curiouser and curiouser!" Kieran went inside and looked around. If people are drinking - there has to be someone providing those drinks. He went straight to the bar, took a sit asked for some ale and immediately expressed his curiosity: "What had happen here? Have not being around for years but do not remember things to be that bad".
When he can see the tavern Jonas will take his shield from his back, a point at the bottom slopping up an out on the sides coming to points before slightly curving down and rising to a 3rd top point in the middle. Its functional but Jonas has taken care to let it look worn and battle tested. He draws his sword and holds it hilt forward, blade pointing behind him and walks into the tavern.
2 steps inside he sheaths his sword but keeps his shield in hand then walks to the bar and sits. In orcish " long day so far I need a drink"
Jonas will wait just 2-3 seconds and switch to common. "Sorry, wrong words. Drink please."
"Dangerous times. Man has a right to defend himself. I sheathed it, looking for no trouble here but an aquatiance went missing recently, Floon, so I'm cautious now." Jonas takes a slow draw from the ale and the a small dip. "Good guy, I hope hes ok...."
Gimble sees Kieran depart from the group and takes note about Kieran's strength in focus and independence.
Gimble holds a hand out to the shop keep, "I'm Gimble, nice place. Did you see the craziness outside?" As Gimble makes small talk he looks around at the curiousities? (Does he notice anything of interest?)
"I mean, I think I might know what yer talkin' about, but knowledge doesn't come free, 3 GP" You can see a silver badge in the shape of a 5-pointed star, he's selling it for 6 GP
Soft chuckle. "Who pays gold for maybes and small talk? However I would pay for information to help me fin a missing person, Floon. And what can ya tell me about this?" Points to the star.
"Eh, like I said before, got no idea about anything here. I just bought this shop and there was all this stuff lying around and it looked rare so I decided to sell it"
'Thank you, officer.' Gallias gave a salute. 'I'll leave you to your business.'
Putting away the notepad, Gallias turned around to see where his impromptu squad had wandered off to. He was just in time to see two of them skimper on down to the tavern while some others saw fit to walk into a shop. 'Well, we're off to a fabulous start.' He muttered under his breath followed up by some hushed tirade about running headfirst into things.
Deciding that the tavern would yield more results, as Volothamp explicitely mentioned it, Gallias made his way to the Skewered Dragon as well. When he got there, he saw the ravages the place had suffered. It never boded well for a missing person's case when the last place they were seen was trashed to the nines. And was that a bloody anchor lodged in the roof? Questions for later, Gallias figured.
He walked through what remained of the door and scanned the place. It had definitely seen better days and whoever was seated here drinking either were diehard patrons who would not let a thing like a half-destroyed roof stand between them and a drink or people with no other place to go. Of course, the ones called Kieran and Jonas stuck out like a barbarian in a holy temple.
'I'm all for the eagerness of youth, lads.' Gallias approached the two and the bar. 'But spare a moment for those slower of foot to catch up, would you?' He flashed a smile at the bartender. 'I'm honestly a bit surprised. Most people would close up shop when the bar looks like it went a couple of rounds with one of the Waterdeep's statues.' He made a telling motion of glancing upwards at the roof anchor. 'I bet there's a good story behind that. Care to tell me while I enjoy one of your finer drinks?' Gallias slipped a gold coin onto the counter.
"Ehhh, Exterior design. The way we stand out. y'know? Gives it that feeling of a rough and tumble place of adventure, Eh?... I have no idea why it's there. Woke up this morning, BOOM. Big anchor in the roof, probably just some ship gone haywire or something"
Jonas grins a little emphasizing his tusks, "I do enjoy a little adventure, that's why I'm looking for my friend Floon. The one I mentioned was missing. Have you seen him recently? Good looking human fellow always dressed well, hard to miss in here"

"Well I have things to be doing but it does look neat. I'll take it. " Jonas puts 5 gold on the counter and pockets the cube.
To the group. "I'll meet yall at the tavern? " Jonas leaves to catch up with Kieran
"Huh? Why should I tell you? You're just a random dude who ran in and asked us what we've been doing drinking in a tavern! Haha!"

"Because that random dude is your customer who ordered bear from from you and keeps a polite conversation?"

"Uhh, why do you have a sword?" *He cautiously gives you some Ale while preparing to draw his sword if necessary*

"Yeah, well I guess I'm just not like alot of bartenders, eh guys?" *The rest of the patrons agree*

(What did I buy?)
Some random stone cube I guess
That's awesome. Jonas keeps nursing his drink at the bar.
Mhm, pretty cheap and dumb stuff he's selling I must say
