Keric: looking at the pile of bones left by the skeleton, you find a bag that was tied to the belt of the creature. In checking the contents, it is empty, but the inside is much larger than the cloth allows for. It is a bag of holding. In another pouch, there are three vials of the acid he threw earlier, and a small gray and black stone that has a tune etched onto it. You also notice one of the rib bones has a splash of gold on its tip and the other skeletons have similar gold on one rib bone (5 gold each)
Reg: you do not see any other threats, but can see a bench and table in the room with and open book and small pots on them. Some items are on the bench that shine with a glint of gold.
Keric takes the bags and put the viles of acid, as well as the time etched stone, inside. He'll pop the gold ribs off the each if the skeletons and hand them out to the group (6 skeletons plus the robed guy, so 5gp each and Keric pocket the extra for general group use).
Captain Blackhand: As the bodies are searched, Beric runs back to the previous room and takes the bullseye lantern. He then quickly searches the room just outside the door that was marked Danger. Cautiously on the lookout for traps and loot, he picks any locks and disables any traps he may encounter.
The table holds the open book, which is titled Ye Secret of Ye Philosopher's Stone. It is written in common, but is very technical in nature. Some study could glean the nature of its contents though. There is a drawer on the table which holds a spellbook that contains the following spells. dancing lights, comprehend languages, Tenser’s floating disk, and shatter.
The bench has a chemical apparatus in working condition that could be sold to the right buyer (20 gold), 47 gold pieces, and the following golden items:
A human skull (20 gp)
An apple (5 gp)
A rose (5 gp)
A set of five small discs (balance weights, 5 gp each)
Keric goes about collecting the various objects into the bag of Holding. "An alchemy lab or perhaps necromancy? Either way, we should report this to the town guard. It seems the old man's story wasn't lunacy after all. Maybe the guard knows who lived here."
OoC - have we explored all the areas of the building now?
Looking quickly through the book on the Philosopher’s Stone, Reyllnn shrugs. “This lab looks like it’s more alchemical than necromantic, but they could be connected, to be honest. Based on the reading here and what little I know of these tools, it seems that whoever owned this lab was attempting to research the Philosopher’s Stone, which gave everlasting life. At least, according to legend.” She shuffles through the papers and the materials a bit more before moving back out to inspect the skeletons. “The combination of this research and these... creations suggests some unsettling conclusions. We should definitely let the guards know.”
Elias looks at Keric and Reyllnn saying: "It looks like some of the stories about the undead here where true but what about the bandits and the signal system we found? Do we need to report back what was found or do we just need to clear this place out and then tell the town what was found here?" " I do have some experience with alchemy. Would you mind if I took a look at that book?"
OOC: I do have proficiency with alchemist supplies - what do I need to roll to check the book?
