Yroc jumps the last few feet down from the tree, landing with a heavy thud on the jungle floor. The alien sight had impressed him with its beauty, despite the dangers lurking all around.
His eyes wander from one face to the other as he looks around the group. "What is it we need here? Is this where the source of the death curse originates? I have not seen any sign of undead guarding this place, yet."
Urgh, well actually we are here on behalf of our guide Azaka. We have agreed to come here to assist her in a personal matter, in exchange for her future services without fee.
Then he waiting with bated breath to see the orc's response, whether he approved of going to so much trouble for an auxiliary purpose. As an afterthought Badger added:
It was destined to be so. The omens say that evil fortune will befall us if we neglect this matter.

Yroc's eyes flash with sudden anger at the thought of spending so much more time in this forsaken wilderness than was necessary, but as quickly they cool in resignation of the fact that they are already here. "Fine. Let's get on with it then." he says, his deep voice rumbling softly. He looks at the guide, equally expectant of an answer to their exact purpose as Sickle.
Asaka, in her usual flat tone, “The agreement was 30 days of guide work in exchange for helping me retrieve an ancestral mask from the pterafolk at firefinger who stole it from me. It’s a family heirloom. We don’t need to kill the pterafolk, but the world would be better for it.” She bears her teeth in a humourless fearsome grimace.
It's currently late afternoon. Just about 4pm. You have about 2 hours of daylight left. Firefinger seems to be about an half-hour walk away still.
"We are a disadvantage in numbers and mobility as they are fly. Can they see on dark well? If no, while not all of us can see well when it is dark, better some of us and none of them have an advantage. Our objective is first and foremost is the heirloom but not battle to the death," Silas speaks, trying to draw on his teaching about war.

"Well, we're here, and you know these folk best."Yroc responds to Asaka, wagging a finger up at the sky above. "Do we press on for the day and start the assault, or wait 'till morning?"
Azaka shrugs, "They roost at night. They don't have great night vision. I suggest we approach under the cover of darkness and take them unawares. But, I know some of you don't see well in the darkness."
The group has been watching water stores closely. The barrel that Hammu carries has been a must to keep you stocked for water for a couple days. You figure you could probably go another day pretty easily before needing to worry about dehydration.

The group spends a bit of time getting a bit closer before darkness comes, enough to get a good view. It appears as if there are three main caves as you work your way up the tower. On top, it's capped with some greenery, and a tower from which flames flicker out of its top.

Sir Darak Darkhall: Studying the Spire as the party travels closer, Darak says, "A treacherous climb under even the best conditions, but if we ascend one at a time we should be capable. Approach under cover of darkness seems best, risking light only if necessary."
Turning to Asaka, he continues, "You are a brave warrior Asaka, but you hired us to complete this task. I think it best if you stay with my Retainers and Hammu. We'll find a safe place near the Spire for you to await our return."
Yroc nods at Darak's words, grasping the man's shoulders with his oversized hand in a friendly gesture. "Agreed. Asaka, we will need you alive for the next part of our journey here. Describe the mask to us and we will retrieve it for you."
He starts working his shoulders, preparing for the climb up ahead. It does seem like a dangerous climb, but not impossible, and from the higher vantage point they might be able to gain some clues as to the layout of the surrounding terrain.
"We should have our better able climbers maybe two or three, go first then of possible have them lower a rope and hold out stay for the others to climb up," Silas speaks as he remembers the layout in the darkness.

“I can go ahead of us as a spider again, which should have no problem ascending the wall. I may even be able to take Badger with me as I do, if he can hold on my back. I also prepared a spell for finding this item. If Azaka can describe it In more detail, perhaps Kasaaptu or Badger can draw it which should make it easier to find.”

She will give Azaka some of the sweet grass to give Hamma as a treat
Azaka snorts in reply to Sir Darak's request, but when Yroc chimes in and points out her importance to the group she seems to pause in thought. "Fine. I'll protect the animal. He's probably as valuable as anything else out here in the jungle. As for the mask, unless they've taken gathering a grand collection of masks, I presume it should be obvious. It's carved out of wood, and painted yellow, purple and red, with leather straps and small steel rings connecting the strapping to the wood. It looks like a stylized wild cat." She accepts the store of sweet grass and heads over to check on the animal and packs.
Well, you would judge...that the first level is probably 60 feet off the ground. The 2nd is probably another 100 feet beyond that. The third is probably 80 to 100 feet beyond that. Then the last is another 60 to 80 feet past that. The whole thing is probably around 300 to 320 feet high.
