@ everyone, (OOC: if anyone needs clarification, i can. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding on my part. The party was in the adjacent room to the tower where they entered. They could go northward into the main hall. Which is so far what I had done. The party could go eastward through the door on the far side in the adjacent room. or the party could exit out of the tower back the way they came, and try a different entrance to the castle. Right now, assuming we don't rewind actions cause of miscommunications, the party is in the main hall. the trap that the party was told of by the goblin has been discovered by Gimble and Stannic. The party could try to disarm it, or go over it without setting it off. There is a door past the trap that leads to the second hall. Further north in the main hall is two doors, both lead into the front left tower. Where the party knows both goblins and hobgoblins are. So far it appears they are not heading into the hallway to hear the noises that have been created. The party knows there are some food stores in that tower, as told by the goblin the party questioned. It seems the party's goal is to head towards the room in the castle with the curtains. It is past the second hall. So going through the main hall is the direct way to get there. It is possible that the door on the far side of the adjacent room could lead to an alternate way to get there.)

@ Gimble, The goblin's trap is very simple, you've disarmed things far more complicated. (OOC: no roll required). You safely disarm the trap. Enough damage to the linchpins and the above objects will come down. The area is relatively safe.
@ Everyone, Gimble quickly and quietly disarms the trap, making it safe for the party to reach the door. Upon testing the door handle, the door is unlocked. (OOC: who opens the door?)

Misty moved to the door and tests the handle. Finding it unlocked she brushes her chestnut hair behind an ear as she glances over her shoulder at the others. her cloak russles slightly as she adjusts her position, the half-plate armor under it looking dirty and with a few dings in it now. her blue eyes are intent on those behind her as she pauses a moment. She holds up three fingers to her companions, her other hand on the door. Lowering one finger at a time, she gives them a nod and opens the door when she holds up only a fist.
Casmir moves to the front, put his hand on the handle and looks back to the group.
"Ready?
(OOC: If nobody objects, Casmir will open the door, move to the nearest enemy and whack him/her/them with the warhammer. Shield of Faith on Stanis lasts 10 minutes, is there any time left on it? If not, he'll cast it again on Stanis using his Bonus action. I'm assuming by now Gniff's Bless expired so no more advantage on attacks, correct?
All rolls from log - Initiative 6; Attack 11; Damage if it hits: 7

@ Casmir, the group is silent and waits for you to open the door. You indicate to the party that you will go in first. You quickly fling open the door and look to swing your warhammer at the nearest enemy. There is no enemies in sight. (OOC: Shield of Faith is still up. Its been up for 3 minutes, so it has 7 minutes left. Bless has expired. Give me a perception check.) After you move into the room You get a good look at it. This high, narrow hall looks as if it might have been part of a chapel or shrine at one time. Angelic figures are sculpted along the room’s upper reaches, looking down on the floor below. To the north, heavy curtains block a matching pair of archways. Between the archways is a cracked but ornately carved stone brazier.
@ the party, (OOC: does the party follow Casmir into the room?) (OOC 2: The party is entering the second hall leaving the main hall behind you. A door at the end of the second hall in front of you. And somewhere to the left of you is the room with the curtains.)

Misty shrugs as the door is opened without her having to do so. She moves into the chamber, glancing around as she looks for the way towards the tower with the curtains. She heads in that direction.
The wolf (Stannic) follows Casmir and pads quietly into the hall. He makes a cautious circuit of the room, alert for danger, and uses all of his senses to see if there are any threats, focusing on the curtains to the left and the door to the front.
While the group filters in to the next room, Gniff stops at the threshold, his look lingering at the disarmed trap. He moves to Gimble, tapping him on the shoulder and speaking in a low voice, "Say, do you believe you could rearm that trap but with a different trigger? The goblins know what to look for right? What if you changed it slightly so when avoiding their trap they actually set it off?"
Casmir walks to the curtains to the left, pauses to listen (OOC: Perception 3, oh boy). Assuming he doesn't hear squat, he pushes the curtain open with his shield and looks around cautiously.
Gimble looks from Gniff to the trap. “Well, I could try. Worst case scenario I set it off and we have a party. Best case, I set it and someone else gets a party.” He then moves to set the trap with a few modifications.

@ Casmir, You feel pretty sure that the room is clear. While it is dark, nothing dangerous lurks within. The goblin was clearly trying to scare the party by saying one was in here. You then go to the left side of the room where the two curtains are.
@ Misty, She follows Casmir towards the curtains ready to move onto the next room.
@ Stannic, You thoroughly sniff throughout the room. At first you smell nothing thinking the room is secure like Casmir said. Then you get a whiff of this awful smelling breath. You look around and nothing can be seen. You sniff again and its coming from the ceiling, when you look up there, there is a snake like creature with tentacles and a beak. the tentacles are moving away from the mouth. The bad breath is coming from its beak. The snake thing is uncoiling and preparing to attack.
@ Gniff and Gimble, While the rest of the party is in the next room, you two are talking about the trap the party is leaving behind. Gniff gets the idea to alter the trap to have it be a trap for the goblins. (OOC: Gimble, give me a d20 roll plus your proficiency bonus, plus your dexterity bonus. )
@ Everyone, Stannic starts barking at the party to alert them to the monsters presence. (OOC: I assume you alert the party) The monster noticing the wolf barking at it drops down to the floor where everyone can see the creature. It has a long snake like body until the head where multiple tentacles sprout out, covering a beak for a mouth. At this time the tentacles are spread out away from the beak, making anyone facing it directly can see the beak. An awful stench comes from its beak when its open. A dark tongueless mouth within the beak. (OOC 2: everyone roll initiative)
