From what you’ve seen of this kuo-toa and your insight, he seems to be a good-hearted, genuine individual. You doubt he would act against you and the party maliciously, but it’s unclear whether he knows the true properties of the mad mushroom.
Daerthe - Sarith is staying at the edges of the group, eyes scanning over the area. He scowls when he meets Daerthe's gaze, but says nothing.
Thun - "Certainly," the kuo-toa moves to a flat rock, setting down the mushrooms. Reaching into his bag, Dloop grunts, pulling out a metal pot that was certainly too big for the size of the bag. Rummaging some more, he procures several long mushroom stalks, flint, and a few fish.
"Start fire, yes?" the kuo-toa offers the mushroom stalks and the flint to Thun. "The pot with water, you could fill. Dice mushrooms and fish, I will."
The old gnome, noticing the addition of the mushrooms, says, "I'm sorry, lad, but could you make some without mushrooms?" He places a hand to his stomach. "They give me gas something fierce!"
Thun filled the pot with water and began to boil the cauldron with the third type of mushroom's stalks. He totally missed the addition of the mushrooms he was intent on looking for.
Thun was a little off put that he was asked to do something looking away while the stranger added the mushrooms. He is grateful for the gnome's comment.
"I don't know," the old gnome says, gesturing around the group. "We've just recently begun traveling together. I haven't heard anyone else complain yet." He looks at the others and asks rather loudly (and bluntly), "Anybody else blow up like a balloon after eating mushrooms?"
Thun chimes in with an at first low and then deeply, disturbingly, loud guttural noise. Its from the creature he swallowed, but the sound suites the purpose.
"Aye, they make me stomach hurt in a fierce manner."
"I was sold to a group of deep elves," Mars says, settling next to Dloop and cutting into the fish in front of her with the wickedly sharp Drow dagger. She tries to copy the same cuts she sees Dloop make, in case these fish are different on the inside than what she is used to.
"They must have been working for Ilvara, I think. Or working for or with someone who worked for her. The family they bought me from were much nicer than most of my old owners, but when they all, um, passed, their inheritor - an uncle or brother I think - he didn't need the help I guess."

Daerthe will move to eat with them, keeping a close watch on Sarith as she does so.

Thun will also eat but he will try to learn the recipe from the chef.
"Would you mind if I watch you cook? I'd imagine we're going to have to do something similar later on."

Daerthe will load one of the poison darts into her crossbow, keeping it ready to use on the full Drow if he does anything suspicious.

Is he putting the mad mushrooms in the stew?
Tanser - He appears to be cutting the mad mushroom up with the rest of them.

Tanser - "Do that, we could," the kuo-toa nods. "Time it will take, but time for stories, it will provide. Only one with your affliction, you are?"
Affliction? At this, Mars leans in closer to Tanser.
"I don't know," the old gnome says, gesturing around the group. "We've just recently begun traveling together. I haven't heard anyone else complain yet." He looks at the others and asks rather loudly (and bluntly), "Anybody else blow up like a balloon after eating mushrooms?"

"Aye, they make me stomach hurt in a fierce manner."
He stirs the bubbling pot.
"I didn't eat any of those that you did so I am not sure." Daerthe says as she wishes that she could find some rothe meat to feast upon.

"Very well," Dloop bobs his head. "No-mushroom stew, we shall make first. Want upset stomachs, I do not."
The kuo-toa sets several fish down on the rock, and begins cutting them. "How so far beneath the upper world did the surface dwellers arrive, hmm?"
"I was sold to a group of deep elves," Mars says, settling next to Dloop and cutting into the fish in front of her with the wickedly sharp Drow dagger. She tries to copy the same cuts she sees Dloop make, in case these fish are different on the inside than what she is used to.

Daerthe will let them cook as she keeps a close eye on Sarith, something about him how starting to bother her.
