The blade of your dagger plunged deep into the wolf’s hindquarter, bottoming out on the hip. The wolf let’s out a yelp of pain followed by a fierce snarl at you.

As Vanzaren crosses the stream, Rigel moves forward a few feet in order to get a clearer site line on the grey wolf. The sound of the wolf's yelp is just the sign he was looking for. Rigel's fingers barely twitch as they let the bowstrings twangs send the missile on its way.
The ranger’s arrow soars past Ronk’s ear catching some of his dangling bugbear fur on it path through Vanzaren’s legs to its target in the wolf’s gut. The animal is severely wounded and is now more concerned with survival than hunger. The expression on its face has quickly changed from one of aggression to one of fear.
Ronk swats at the fly bothering him only to realize it was Rigel's arrow. He glanced around to take in the situation, considers going back to get his clothes, then decides to head toward the cave entrance and see if the others need help with the last wolf.
The bleeding canine regards you with suspicion as you hold out the ration attempting to quell its aggression. Teeth bared, the wolf grows low as it cautiously limps forward and snatches the food from your hand. Tucking its tail as it limps away, the wolf maneuvers its way clear of you without ever taking its eyes off the party. Once no longer surrounded, it dashes as best it can into the thicket to the west of the cave entrance.
Ronk utters a quiet "Good dog" as the wolf runs past. He looks about the clearing again, then the cave mouth, and finally at his companions. "Can I put my clothes on before we go in there?"
Rigel chuckles "Hehe, yeah I think we can take a moment. But then what? How's every one? Anybody hurt? I don't know how long we should stay here. Hopefully Klarg thinks the wolves took care of us but that means he might be back to lock them up. Worse, he's now worried about the safety of his prize and he may move it. If we do decide to pause we should make it quick. What say you?"
Ronk holds up a hand and grunts before trotting off to the adge of the clearing where he'd left his gear and clothes. A short time of rustling bushes later, he trots back over, now clothes and cinching a belt here and some hand wrapping there. "Ready when you are..."
The breeze flows gently through the dense foliage surrounding the peaceful glade. Our adventurers laze about casually, with nothing but the sound of the stream issuing forth from the cave to help calm their minds.
It was as if there were no horde of goblins waiting for them in the tunnels northward. Only blissful, beautiful wilderness...
After about an hour of relaxing, the team begins to reassemble for the journey onward into the cave, when a peculiar stranger strolls up and introduces himself....
The stranger in question is human by all accounts, dressed in loose fitting, well-worn, and quite typical traveling's clothing, but bearing on his person a number of simple but much weaponry. Only one of which, a handaxe, is held limply in hand at the moment. At first you see him appear half-way distracted with keeping an eye on his back. Yet perhaps because of a noise or some other trigger all together, he focuses back forward, and jolts to a stop. A mixture of relief and curiosity plays across his face as he looks everyone over until his eyes lands on Ronk.
Though he gives a small smile and up nod for good measure, the hand at his side visibly clenches the hand axe just a little tighter. "Well don't this be all. I came look'n have'n half expected there to be trouble up this way -- what with hav'n caught wind o've the dead beast backs a wayz -- but, here I see some folk already in the process of see'n to it?" The gives everyone a questioning look. Then with another small start followed by a curt bow he adds, "Names Marcon, by the way. Just...Marcon, honestly. Ma folks couldn't really afford a surname."He awkwardly chuckles until someone else decides to speak.

As the others cautiously observe the stranger’s approach, Garet suddenly stiffens at the barely-perceptible sound of what he thinks might have been a muffled scream coming from somewhere deep within the cave. At first, he isn’t sure what he has heard and then all he hears is the soft chuckling of the lazy stream. But just as his face relaxes and he has convinced himself that it was nothing, the sound comes forth again, this time just a little louder...a forceful scream, dampened and distorted by echoing off so may walls, but most certainly a scream. That of a creature one could imagine is in excruciating pain.
(OOC: only Garet hears it the first time, but the second time it is just loud enough for Vanzaren to pick up on it also.)
Marcon chuckles and scratches the back of his head. "... Yeah... hi... Sorry fer goin' on there fer a hot minute there. Sometimes I can get carried away."He glances from the corpse of the wolf nearby to the group again. Then he leans to the side and peeks past into the cave. "They don't know ya'll here already do they?"

OOC: generally you could see quite a big Firbolg with hands arms deep in blood kneeing near the body of wolf and cuting different parts of it for last 30 min
