Stella nods, eyebrows drawing together as she frowns faintly. "Hmm, we should certainly be on our guard." As Obsidian fastens his claws into her leather shoulder pad, Stella drops lightly out of the cart and draws her silver-hilted rapier after neatly tying her white hair back into a braid.
Kasha pats Victor, thanking him for the information and the well wishes. She sniffed the air and looked around. It almost seemed like someone hasn't attended to the upkeeping of the immediate area of the manor. "Wait here for us, ok?"she told Victor. "We'll be back."
Barnabus eyes the others with varying degree of skepticism, but knew better than to question their caution. So he hoped out the back with crossbow in hand, and took up a flanking position behind the others. The weapon stayed lowered for the time being on the off chance the figures ahead prove to be friendly-ish. "Say Al? Ya planning to send'ja owl friend in fer a bit of reconnascience in case things went full tits up since this whole message reached our boss?"He asks, more curious than anything. Regardless of the answer, once the group is on the move, Barnabus is right there behind them.

Alys would take her turn to hop out of the cart, keeping close to Yvan. She’d give Hoodini a poke on her shoulder, he’d open an eye and close it. “Yeah... I was definitely considering sending him out.” She’d give her owl another poke. He’d open both eyes, then close them again. Alys would let out a sigh, rolling her eyes. “He’s just... a little moody...” she’d scoop Hoodini up off her shoulder and with a large wide motion with her arm, Alys would hurl her familiar up into the sky with all her might. He’d look like an oversized bullet soaring into the air, eyes wide. As he reaches the apex of his tossed flight, Hoodini would flare out his wings and soar the tree tops.
Alys: Hoodini flies through the tree tops, getting a quite literal bird's eye view of the manor. He sees that like the rest of the clearing, the manor has weeds growing unhindered through the grounds and vines growing up the pillars. Wrapped around one of the pillars is a creeper with five yellow petals coming out of the vine. He sees that the humanoids who are outside of the manor are walking around quite aimlessly, that their skin is an unnatural shade of grey, and that there is some kind of yellow bulb coming out of their back.

Alys: You recognize the plant as a Yellow Musk Creeper. While it appears to be a normal plant, it is capable of releasing a powerful musk that can cause creatures to become charmed, luring it towards them if they are unable to resist it. Once the creeper manages to take down it's prey, it kills them and implants a bulb that turns them into a mindless zombie after 24 hours. You believe that the creatures walking around are some of those zombies.

Alys would blink to break the bond and she'd pull out her journal and begin sketching what she saw. First she'd sketch the plant, vines and the flower, "I'm positive it's a Yellow Musk Creeper." She'd look up at the vines around them, her eyes widen to take in the environment they're about to walk into. She'd start grabbing people and pulling them closer to the group and away from any vines.
Alys would swallow trying to find the simplest words to describe these things. "Zombie plants!" Her eyes would dart from side to side before going back to her drawing, pointing out some details she remembers from something she read, "They're yellow flowers that can look like an ordinary flowering vine." She'd pinch the bridge of her nose and close her eyes searching in her mind, "They release a strong musk.... bad.... it charms but... that's not how... no..." Alys would frantically start sketching a bulb and vines bursting from it, then she'd reach to her back and try to motion with her hand something bursting out of her back. "If it takes you down, it'll implant a bulb into you! And you turn into a zombie!" She'll point towards the manor, "I'm pretty sure there are Yellow Creeper Zombies in there!"
"... What if we set this place on fire?" Yvan questions casually. "They're rich enough to rebuild a new manor and plants don't normally like fire..."

Kasha gasped so loud and long at the notion of burning something of the forest she almost passed out from lack of air. When color had returned to her face, all she said was "Yvan!"with a hurt expression.
"I do know some fire spells. One's a simple one where I just toss a small bolt of fire at our enemies, the other is more complex, it would allow me to breathe a small cone of fire multiple times for the course of a moment, making me into a small dragon of sorts. It wouldn't start any fires, but it would certainly burn those plants and zombies. Of course, I wouldn't want to have all of their attention on me and me alone as I do this."

Alys would reflect on the spells she knows as Vastra discusses her options. "I too have a simple fire spell... I can offer to move the earth and create water if anything gets out of hand..." She'd think back to the Zombies and look to her fellow mage, "What about radiant damage?" she'd grasp her fathers holy symbol in her hand.
"It certainly can't hurt." Vastra says, seeing your grab your father's holy symbol. "Divine magics were made for dealing with this sort of thing, weren't they?"

"Kasha,"Yvan looks to the druid with a solemn expression. "If there is one thing the wilds taught me is that no matter the damage caused to it, new life will grow." To iterate his point, he takes out an acorn from his pack and gently places it in the palms of her hands. "The fires can be contained if we do this right... and among the ash we can plant these and help the forest reclaim what it once had lost."

Vastra puts a hand on Kasha's shoulder. "My spell isn't going to create any giant fire that will take out the forest. It won't even destroy the manor. I promise. The only thing that I'll be burning up is a creeper and a bunch of zombies."

Kasha then turned to Yvan and nodded, looking at the acorn. She looked at it for another minute, and then finally gazed up at him, breaking the silence.
"Do we plant this now?"she asked, quietly, unsure.
"Well, all I know is that I got a fifty-fifty chance of throwing out my own fire. But unless this yellow musk devil is 'living' on this bodies, it's gonna be important to look out fer that especially." Barnabus rubs the back of his neck. "Say Vastra? Don't s'pose ya got a trick to speak ta plants at the moment do ya? Maybe we find a rat among them to least catch the sucker fer it lures one of us in. At least on the off chance this whooolllee-- I mean, what sounds like plan 'Firestorm' doesn't quite catch'em all. Still... Odd that other druid fella even sent a message like he did, unless..."
Barnabus gasps and slaps the sides of his cheeks. "Unless there's a huge one inside! One smarter than the rest maybe! Can ya'll 'maginate it?"
