In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagon load of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Haliwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business."
You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.
Rhogar Khopesh is a large white with blue streaked Dragonborn with yellow eyes standing at six foot five wearing a large chain mail shirt with simple white cotton shirt underneath and breeches. Strapped across his back are five javelins and a large shield bearing the symbol of the Platinum Dragon Bahamut(a dragons head in profile) with a heavy war hammer on his waist. Being a fledgling member of the Lords Alliance Rhogar was tasked to escort provisions as a first mission task trial run to test his skills and resolve to the cause. To be such a large imposing figure you can tell he is not quite sure of himself but is very kind hearted, but their is alway just a small glint of something in his eyes that speaks to his race. He is so large he would of taken position up front on the cart either driving or riding beside the driver.
Elias walks on one side of the wagon. Blond almost withe flowing hair and large glowing golden eyes stare at the surrounding forest. Though not large nor strong Elias has lived in the wild long enough to have acquired a certain muscle mass not usually found in sorcerers.
"Hope we will be arriving soon. I could use a hot bath and a warm meal." He says, once more trying to get the conversations going.
Loraviel is a tall slender Wood Elf. She was born with a very dark skin complexion, darker by even Wood Elf standards. Although she is a Druid of the Circle of the Moon, she does not look the part at all. She wields the Hand of Oskana, her family heirloom club, on one hand, and a light but sturdy wooden shield made by her father on her off hand. Folks might think that she’s a martial Fighter. Though she is fairly fit, she doesn’t look like she could wield a longsword, let alone a great axe. She prefers to wear dark vestments, like a sneaky Rouge, that matches her dark skin complexion. She covers herself completely when she needs to make her presence not known. People that look at Loraviel have a hard time trying to figure her out.
One day, Loraviel’s father received a letter from an old druid friend asking for help. She pleaded with her parents to allow her to answer the call. She wanted to prove them that she was ready to meet the world. They were worried at first, but they blessed her endeavor by giving her the Hand of Oskana. She made preparations for the long journey to the city of Neverwinter.
While on their way to Phandalin. Since Loraviel has a great affinity with animals, she volunteered to drive the cart. While driving, she ritual casts Speak with Animals to keep the beast(s) pulling the cart at ease.

Gotch is a fairly unusual goblin. He wears decent clothes for one part, britches and tunic, with a fairly nice cloak over it all. He also has a book he is often studying as they travel. When speaking he is very precise and knowledgeable as he talks.
he would be sitting in the back of the wagon, studying his spellbook more often than not.
Kharnyl Deepdelver is a young dwarf of just 40 years. He has been tasked by his Temple's Hammer of War with helping the Rockseeker brothers establish a strong dwarven presence in the settlement of Phandalin. After years of training as an Unworked, he is eager to finally be regarded as a Tempered Forgesmith of the Temple and this mission could be his big shot. Already unhappy about travelling with an elf, he nearly brought the caravan to a halt when he discovered a goblin was traveling with them. After much reassuring from the dragonborn paladin Rhogar, Kharnyl decided to have faith in the wisdom of the High Forgesmiths and continue with the caravan, but doesn't stray far from the wagon transporting the goblin mage.
Loraviel is used to a life in the woods, for the home that she lived with parents her whole life was isolated, and deep within a forest. On the few times that her parents took her to Khorvaire, the heart of the Wood Elf nation, she had seen other Humans and Dwarves. Thus she is surrounded by folks she has never seen before in her life. She is clearly uncomfortable while driving the cart. She speaks with the beast(s) pulling the cart to easy her mind as well as theirs.
She is very intimated by the huge lizardman next to her, for she almost look like a child next to him. It seems to her that he is some sort of holy warrior. She hopes that she can count on him if danger presents itself on their way to Phandalin. She tries not to make it very obvious, but she looks behind the wagon suspiciously, for her father always told her. "A good Goblin is a dead Goblin." Perhaps her father was wrong? For the scholarly Goblin at the back of the cart is clearly not the same creatures that tried to invade her home from time to time. She is not sure how to address the divine being walking next to the cart, at for her at least, he seems angelic in nature and she dares not to look at him directly. When she makes eye contact with the dwarf, she nods her head respectfully. For he is the only one that is "common" to her in this company of very unfamiliar folks.
"Y... Yes, I do hope this will be a short journey..." Loraviel responds shyly to Elias, still not daring looking at the Aasimar directly. She keeps her hood up, hoping that her companions won't notice her discomfort.

Elias is only too happy to have someone to talk to. He smiles his greatest smile and moves to Loraviel's side.
" So what brings you to guard duty and the road ?" Elias asks and not really waiting for a response continues, " I never liked staying in the same place. From where I come from life was .. and is probably still BOoooorrrrriiiinngg. I for one always liked to outside air and the adventure."
Rhogar turns to the two beside him overhearing the conversation after getting lost in thought and in a deep voice with a Northern accent say "Where do you hail from if you don't mind me asking I have not encountered very many of your kin before."
Rhogar was super relieved that someone finally started up a conversation the awkward silence between him and the elven woman Loraviel had him feeling a bit self conscious fully aware of the effect his appearance can have on those not accustomed to his kind.
When Loraviel was younger, she remembered that once her mother told her about celestial beings from Mount Celestia walking amongst their people. She did not believe that her mother would lie to her, yet, such story could not be true she thought. She always thought that such thing could only be a myth. So Loraviel was mortified when this "myth", that was next to her, and actually addressed her in such a casual way. "I ah..." She could not find words to reply, when she was interrupted by the Dragonborn next to her.
Thinking about home Loraviel perks up. "Ohh. I am from the Aendriserin Forest, north the Neverwinter Wood. My family lives there, and that is where I lived my whole life too. I traveled about tendays to reach the city. By the way, my name is Loraviel Meliamne."

"Ah a fledgling to the life of an adventurer I know those first steps away from home can be daunting, but I would say your off to a good start!" as he smiles as unintimidating a possible...for a dragonborn. "The forests of Aendriserin I have not heard of this place...I hope it is beautiful though there really is nothing like a nap under a large oak tree" then turning to Elias not wanting to leave him out " What about your homeland Elias where is this Borrrring place you call home?"
Kharnyl has barely heard any of the conversations taking place around the wagon, as he has been peeking through any openings in the carriage that might afford him a glimpse at what Gotch was up to with that book. This preoccupation combined with the task of walking along the road proved too much as he stumbled and fell to the ground with a loud clatter of finely worked armor on the dirt path. Supporting his weight with his free hand, warhammer in the other, he got back to his feet. Noticing the eyes on him and the fact that the wagon had stopped, he held out his hands. Aren't the lot of you concerned about what he's doing in there? I though I saw him reading a book! A goblin. With a book! Does that smell right to you?
To Gotch: "What Grobkaz are you up to? What is that book you keep staring at?"
Elias shrugs. " I come from a faraway place. I never knew a good place could be boring. You would be amazed how "nice" can get under your skins after a while. I know how that sounds and I m sorry if you take it the wrong way. Sheltered way and all that. But I needed adventures and they wouldn't let me go have it."
"The book?" Gotch replies with a glance up to everyone. His words are cultured and quite well-spoken for a goblin. He blinks his eyes a bit as he looks around. "It is my spell book." He says as he holds it up. "What exactly do you expect a wizard to do when he has some downtime like this?" He looks a bit perplexed. "Then he sighs, as it becomes clear he is understanding your issue. "Yes, I am a goblin, yes I am a wizard, yes I do read books." He huffs as he turns back to his spell book. "You would think people would get over this sort of thing, but it is always a thing..."
Kharnyl: "He may have you all under his spell, but you had all best keep an eye out; the next time you turn around there just might be a fireball looking right back at you. Though The Soul Forger may guide my hand to heal your wounds, rorn is raugh! Use your heads; even Moradin won't work cold steel!"
Loraviel heard a loud clatter behind the wagon. She was about to jump off to help the Master Dwarf, but she stopped cold by his protests. She listens to the Dwarf's and the scholarly Goblin's discussion, and slowly goes back to the driver's seat. She is not exactly sure what the discussion is all about, she just knows that it does not sound like a friendly one. Not knowing what is she supposed to do, she politely asks the beasts pulling wagon to keep moving. She wonders to herself. "Who is this Moradin?" Perhaps the Master Dwarf could explain it to her when opportunity arrives.
