Ilduarana was taken by surprise by the sudden attack of her companions. Nobody waited for the rules of combat to be agreed, the champion to be chosen, and the weapons to be decided!!! Everything seemed a bit barbaric.
Sorry I was waiting to learn what to do... And how to do it
Sorry about that I should have made sure you were happy first :(
You make two rolls in combat, the first is to hit (for example your ice knife, you roll 1d20 and add 5), then the damage ( 1d10). You can fit the hit and damage dice and bonus on your character sheet
Twiglet isn't the type to kill anyone unless his life really depends on it. This lot will have learned their lesson and its far better (in his opinion) that they just leave
Roars in Silence doesn't understand why everyone has just...stopped? She whirls around, glaring angrily back and forth between the bandit right in front of her and the rest of the party. Then, making up her mind, she bares her teeth and pivots to the closest bandit.
In case I miss the next round of whatever happens while I'm asleep - On her next attack opportunity she's going to go after the nearest bandit or bandits with both scimitars. Here's her rolls:
Ilduarana's attack hits the bloody bandit and they collapses.
The bound bandits desperately try to break free of the vines that are holding them, but only one is successful. The freed bandit runs over to Yorric and shouts "We surrender. We surrender. Please don't kill us." The restrained bandits add their own pleas for mercy.

As Twiglet predicted, once Yorric is down, the rest surrender. You don't have to accept their surrender. The choice is completely yours as a party.
Twiglet knows the “kick a man when he’s down...that’s the best time” school of fighting. He’s seen it lots of times. It’s the favourite move of many of his former gang mates.
"What shall we do with them ? Hand them over to the local authorities ?"
XiaoLong question stays un-answered. She wonders why his travel mates keep going at them even after seeing their boss fell after just a single hit. They are surely not a threat any more.
"I think they got their lesson. Just take whatever they have on them and leave them be"
Twiglet notices the strange robed woman talking quietly, in her heavily accented voice, about handing the thugs over to the watch. She seems perfectly calm even though she, barely seconds ago, sliced Yorrick before he had barely moved...then somehow turned the follow-through into doing something very nasty to the other one's knee.
Clearly she hasn't been in this part of the world very long. The watch wouldn't care one jot about some random theives whether they HAD robbed the wagon, or had been killed doing it. They didn't have anywhere near the numbers to take on one gang...especially when they would (mostly) join forces against such an attack....and if other people killed off a few of them...well, that's one less headache
"Don't worry about them," Twiglet says to her "This is just another Tuesday for here"
So many interesting people, thought Twiglet. This woman is clearly deadly, equally clearly completely out of place here and constantly looks like she has only one eye on this world (the other one being somewhere else...where?)
That was to say nothing of this crazy, mute Goblin that Twiglet instinctively liked, despite it going against the first rule of adventuring, as far as he understood it....that being "kill Goblins". The way she had gone straight from sleep into a wild attack on the bandits had been scary and yet funny to see. The silent battle-shout was also very strange and unsettling and would, Twiglet was sure, have a chilling effect on other enemies....unless, of course, they had their back turned.
The elf seemed to be barely in control of her strange elven magic, firing off a spell when the fight was basically already over. He might need to make sure he is not in the wrong place in the future, who knew what she might do? Fireball an empty room if she got spooked?
All in all, Twiglet was very pleased with his new comrades
The party leaves Neverwinter and heads down the southern road on their way to Phandelin. The first part of their journey along the High Road is uneventful other than Gundren pushing for the party to continue marching until after nightfall. Sildar eventually convinces him to call a halt, and to setup for camp for the night as the road to Phandelin splits off.
Everyone can have a Long Rest. You regain any lost hit points and half your hit dice, (don't think anyone has lost any) and can do anything else your character sheet says you can on a long rest.
At the top of the character sheet are 'short rest' and 'long rest' buttons. These will prompt you for all the things that are normally reset by these things and, in the case of short rest, whether you want to spend hit dice to recover lost hit points. All hit points are recovered on a long rest in 5e (which still feels a bit weird...)
Note Elves get a trance ability, which means they can get a long rest's benefit in only 4h. Thus it's usually a good idea that they don't take first watch, since they stand a chance of getting a full rest even if there is a disturbance in the night.
Darkvision and a high passive perception skill are qualities that are desirable in watchkeepers.
There are also some things worth doing before a rest, depending on class. For example, Humblodt will cast goodberry.
Divine casters (clerics & druids) get to change their spell lineup (excluding cantrips) after a long rest, if they wish.
Finally, not sure if it got noted when Ilduarana cast ice knife and hit with it, that the target and those with in its area should have made a dexterity save or taken 2d6 additional damage. The way I'd recommend doing this, as a player, is to add something like, "whether it hits or not, if the thug and anyone next to him fail a DC13 dex save they take an additional [roll ]2d6[ /roll] cold damage" (without the spaces inside the square brackets). Then it's up to the DM to roll the saving throw(s).
Reading the message with a smile, Humblodt contemplates handing out the magical berries now, knowing that they will sustain the party. He resists however, thinking to save that for when they are away from the main trail in more dangerous lands.

Unfortunately, the tiredness affects Roars' aim and she misses the bandit.
