Having a blast running ToA already, thought I'd open this up to more people in a different campaign if interested. Party size between 4-8, possibility of two parties either working together or competing.
Taking applications: Post your character link or if working in concert w/ someone else, all character links here. Level 1, normal character options only. Say if you like the idea of two parties or not.
Depending on how much interest there is we might start with Cellar of Death, haven't decided yet.
Format will be less on RP/story, though preference will be given to players interested in more than just hack'n'slash, please note in your application. Full, complete sentences appreciated.
Roll or point buy for character creation.
I will PM you if application accepted. PM with questions, not on this thread.
I definitely prefer more than just hack and slash, but I'm happy to focus more on combat and progressing through the adventure than just RP. I think I'd prefer a single party, if only because that would be simpler. I can post Bowark's backstory in a spoiler as well if you want.

I do both party and individual character commissions. PM me for info.
Corti- Warforged bard (Union!)
Hadar Jaffe- Half-elf Knowledge Domain Cleric (Nemo's Citadel of the Unsleeping Sun)
Backstory: Narion's father always had been drawn to a life in the city and when he finally decided to leave his tribe, his son did the same. Together they worked in different mercenary companies up and down the Sword Coast. They managed to make a name for themselves as fierce frontline fighters and saw their fair share of combat. That was until his father died from one of the many wounds he suffered in their last skirmish. Now after Narion has administered all the necessary funreal rituals, he is looking for a new adventure.
Name:Garrin Drake Race: Variant Human Class: Ranger Alignment: Chaotic Good Backstory: Garrin grew up in a small fishing hamlet along the southern stretch of the Sword Coast. His father was a fisherman, barely catching enough food for his family, and selling what little extra they had at the markets. His grandfather had been a fisherman. His forefathers as far back as could be remembered had lived on this bay, eeking out a meagre existence, barely able to do more than sustain the family and mend the nets. Garrin wanted more than this. He heard the stories from the peddlers travelling through town. He saw the odd trinkets brought in by merchants and the weapons worn by the guards. He would leave this place to make a name for himself. At the age of 16, after an argument with his parents, Garrin ran away, following a peddler who had spent the previous two days in town. After following the peddler for some time he made himself known and they travelled together until they reached Waterdeep. Garrin found the odd job as a labourer. He would watch the mercenary companies arrive in the city to celebrate and find work. He knew that was his ticket. Garrin saved what little money he could, eventually having enough to buy a cheap shortsword and leather jerkin. He then presented himself to the captain of the Flaming Fist and travelled to Baldur Gate to train with them. Garrison served for several years with the Flaming Fist as part of the city watch, becoming more proficient and respected in his skills. Eventually, he was tasked with taking a unit of men to deal with Goblin raids in some of the border regions. Overconfident, Garrin led his men into an ambush, barely surviving himself. He eventually found his way back to Baldur’s Gate, where out of shame he resigned from the Flaming Fist, instead, seeking to find his own way to atone and find glory.
Backstory: Veldos is from a distant underwater realm. He discovered something in the Darkened Depths that changed him. Shunned by his Triton homeland because of his altered appearance, Veldos embarked to the surface to escape their scorn and the entity he now shares blood with. When Veldos first arrived in a Sword Coast city, he was deemed a monster and hunted by local sailors. An older goliath man defended him, and Veldos is deeply in his debt.
(I prefer a mix of RP and combat, but am okay with whatever. I also prefer 1 party - its less complicated.)
Class: Fiend Warlock (Planning to multiclass into Barbarian for science)
Race: Fallen Aasimar
Backstory: Tyrros lived an average life. He grew up in a small farming village outside of Waterdeep, signed up and served as a soldier in his lord’s army, and retired peacefully. He was planning on returning to his village to preach the name of his celestial father, but he never arrived home. Instead, he was led astray by a warlock in the service of Asmodeus, who taught him dark secrets and pushed him into a pact with the fiend. Ashamed of his new vassalship, Tyrros has run from his previous life in order to find new meaning.
Play Preferences: I’d prefer to have a somewhat balanced mix of RP and combat, but I’m looking to test out a random shower thought build in combat, so a combat heavy campaign works for me. As far as the one or two party question, either one is fine. Do whatever you want, it’s your campaign.
Backstory: Valik was a quick study in the matters of the arcane. He had a cunning, tactical mindset that delivered him to an offensive view of magics. His ability to work with others and stay calm in battle helped earn him a fledgling spot within a mercenary company. He did was he was told and worked hard during many engagements.
Things grew stale for the ever moving man and he left the company on good terms to walk a new path as an adventurer.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rolling Ability scores: 141310141315. Name:Jolly Race: Firbolg Class: Druid Opinion: I am with rilem in prefering more than just hack and slash, but I have no personal qualms with things as-is. As for the two parties inquiry, I lean more towards prefering a single party, but I am open to their being two. Backstory Snippet: Once Jolly belong to a grove that called the Fey Wild home. In as much an act of goodness as it was shortsighted one of rebellion, he rescued a halfling priestess that found herself accidentally stranded within the fantastical realm, crossed into the material by accident himself, and found the way back shut to him. Since then, he has tried to make peace with events, and took to learning from the priestess people about not just their home but the world at large. What peace he found proved to be short-lived, as something called to him to visit far more distant lands. Seeing it as a sign, he left with some trepidation in his heart, but the jolly smile the small folk came to know him by.
Reopening, looking for one more player! Backstory should relate to the Flaming Fist of Baldur's Gate; have the character know or be involved in a squad that was lost. One of our current players led the squad so avoid that role.
Ability scores: 151012151014 Name: Texas Race: Half-Elf Class: Sorcerer Background: Archaeologist Opinion: I personally like having some RP opportunities mixed in with a hack 'n slash game, but I understand that too much RP can bog a game down. As for a one or two party game, I think it would add an extra bit of challenge if two groups were competing to reach the same goal. Backstory: Who knows where Texas got his magic from, but it has come in handy when he became an archaeologist... except for that one time when he tried to cast Magic Missile and he instead turned himself into a sheep... Yeah... good times... Anyway, Texas comes from a middle class family where both his parents have to work, his older brother went into the military and his younger sister turned to a life of crime, particularly just picking pockets. Texas kept his head down, didn't get into trouble, mostly talking his way out of trouble, and kept up his schooling to have the exciting life of an archaeologist. He really wanted to be like his book hero Henry Jones Jr.; fighting pirates and bad guys and running from boulders in a cave all while searching for lost treasure and artifacts of history. Texas got his opportunity to do just that when invited to join the Flaming Fist of Baldur's Gate, as a researcher, on an expedition to the land of Chult.
