The kingdom you brave heroes are called on to defend is remarkably similar to the American state of Georgia. There are peach trees, there are fields of cotton, there are grand farmhouses, there are fields of corn, fields of beans, watermelons, and anything else you'd expect to find in Georgia. It's even called Georgia. And, of course, it's under attack by devils. But, being devils, they're doing it the hard way, sending low-ranking devils in to weaken the defenders before an all-out assault.
Georgia is populated almost exclusively by humans; therefore, all races other than humans are considered unusual. The ones that are normally considered unusual, some scholars haven't heard of. You're still welcome to play a nonhuman, of course.
3rd level, any official 5e material or Unearthed Arcana, homebrew must be DM-approved.
Normal starting equipment for your class and background; but you can replace each weapon with any weapon you're proficient with; each set of armor with any armor you're proficient with; and if you're proficient with shields, you can have one.
Inspiration stacks and works like non-renewable luck points. See the Lucky feat (PHB, page 167) for details. Genasi can trade their subrace ASI for +1 Cha.
I'm hoping for 4-5 players.

All are welcome; I'd hope that you'd post within a day of your turn coming up or someone asking you a question, but I've got too many other games going on to get upset if someone can't respond for a few days.

It's just that mountain dwarves make better Str-based warriors and variant humans with the Tough feat have better HP at low levels. There's nothing harder to kill than a raging 20th-level hill dwarf barbarian with max Con, the Tough feat, and Totem Spirit (Bear), though. Especially with a cloak of displacement and bracers of defense.

Human Monk btw. Unsure with your setting how well that fits, but I trust it has a good way...didn't want to make a backstory without more input on the setting, but Traveling Hermit seems pretty good to me.
Get a form-fillable character sheet from WotC or do it the hard way. I normally do it the hard way.

Traveling Hermit works, as does Far Traveler (Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide) or drunken brawler.

I can dig a drunken brawler variant. I like Far Traveler background. I'll work on a character sheet that I can post here. Let me know how much your setting wants to stick to real world (moonshine and a self taught guy in overalls) vs normal d20 (monastery far off that I left etc. etc.)

Hey, may I jump in as well? Is there a min post per day for the group or anything?

Here's my Character Sheet. I'm playing an Archery Fighter Battlemaster.
Forgot to add my inventory and don't wanna make a brand new pdf so I'll include it in a spoiler.
Light crossbow, hand crossbow, rapier, 20 crossbow bolts, shield (+2 AC when equipped), leather armor, lieutenant's stripes, Grey Brothers mercenary uniform, deck of cards, explorer's pack.

Sounds great! I made my character on the beyond builder, is there a way to export the sheets? Or are we using that tool to play?
(FYI, I have only played AD&D, so if I mess something up let me know)

Here is my Character Sheet.
Why Hill Dwarf and not Mountain Dwarf or variant human?

Just trying to play things I never have before. I can switch to mountain if you think it fits better.

I'm up for it. Notice, I have never played 5th edition before, so let me know if that is a problem. I am graduating from 3.5. ;)

Normal d20. There is going to be a demonic, er, diabolic invasion, after all.
