As the wind blows the warforged's jacket around, countless sets of tools, lockpicks, and other tiny gadgets seem to line the entire inside of the seemingly ordinary black leather jacket.
During the small talk and the groups forming and socializing. The trap door that heads down towards the lower decks flies open with a resounding “Whack!” Lespin the beleaguered goblin scrambles up. “THERE’S BEEN A MURDER! IS THERE A JARASCO HALFLING ON BOARD?” The crowd sits silently shocked and gasp at the news. Moxley grabs a bottle from behind his makeshift bar and begins to run towards the front to alert the crew.
"Hmm, I see. Though it is true most of those who bear a Mark are of the Houses that is not always the case. There are those with no apparent ties to the houses who develop a mark. I am not entirely sure what to make of the resurgence of Aberrant Marks, though I fear what it may indicate. As for me, I am a bit of an anomaly myself. I was actually born with my Mark, though it has grown and developed as I did. It seems I have an especially strong connection with the elements." Salqwyn laughs to herself "Which is one of the reasons I have earned myself the moniker Squall." Holding her hand up "Hiko mau."Little bolts of lighting jump between her fingers. Looking closer the mark on her arm glows slightly and shifts to resemble the sharp jagged lines of lightning. Then she waves toward the sail spread for shading above "Kākutu."The sail ripples as a breeze moves across it but in the opposite direction of the wind filling the airships sails. The half-elf gets mischievous look and waves her hand toward the minotaur cook. The breeze shifts suddenly and blows the rag off of his horn on to the bar in front of him. Looking quickly to her arm you see the dragon mark change again. Going from swirling lines back to its original form.
(OOC _ if it's ok this happens before the murder anouncment. ; D )
As the goblin's announcement registers. The grin vanishes from Salqwyn's face as she starts looking around to see if there are any halflings answering the call.
As the door trap door slammed open, the head of the warforged would turn to face the noise in an instant. His metallic hand quickly drawing what some would recognize as a revolver firearm of sorts and pointing it towards the goblin. Realizing that there was no threat, Jax would quietly holster the glossy black weapon.
"Fascinating, fascinating," Tara murmurs, quickly adding several more notes to her sheet. She opens her mouth to ask another question when suddenly Lespin comes out with his declaration. Tara goes white. "Dulazurak's betrayal..." she whispers. "Not here, too." Raising her voice, she quickly folds away her diagram and moves towards Lespin at a quick clip. "I am not Jorasco, but I have some healing ability. If they still live, I may be able to save them, Ourelonastrix willing," she says, a faint blue glow beginning to spread over the silver dragon scales woven into her dress.
Lucky remains where he is for a few seconds, but he's instantly looking around at the other passengers. Is anyone reacting in a noteworthy way?
As he is looking he stands, picking up his small pack, and edges quietly over towards Lespin and the trapdoor, keen to ensure that whenever anyone heads down he will be able to tag along.
Seeing Lucky start to move towards the hatch Salqwyn moves up and grabs his arm "The ships crew will have work to do. Best to stay out of the way unless they ask for you."
Lucky looks at Salqwyn's hand on his arm, then up at the half-elf's face. He grins widely, and whispers, So many questions! Then he turns to Lespin and raises his voice. I also have some skill in healing, and it would be my honour to assist in this matter if I may. He shakes his arm free, and turns his back on Salqwyn.
The goblin looks around to no avail for a halfling. “You two will do I suppose.” He says with a huff. His head cocks to the side as his bushy eyebrow raises at the sight of Squall “You’d probably like to take a look as well Ma’am.” Looking amongst the crowd “anyone mind protecting these two as they work, we don’t need more bloodshed, follow us.” As he scurries back down.
Taraki (Tara): Variant Human Knowledge Domain Cleric
Tara follows quickly, her hand going into her bag and removing an emblem depicting a blue dragon curled around a book identical in appearance to the symbol of Aureon, Sovereign of Law and Lore. Her face is still deathly pale, but set into a determined expression.
(OOC: Since I realize I didn't do a great job of explaining it, a clarification. The book is identical to Aureon's symbol, the blue dragon is not something usually present in Aureon's symbols)
"Yes. Terrible." Jac would reply to Virnin As his head slowly moves from the hatch to the woodelf. The warforged would then move his hand to his side, allowing his jacket to hover his holstered weapon. As Virnin makes his way behind the goblin, Jax would follow closely behind.
Lucky nips down the hatch, with a friendly wink at the half-elf sorcerer. As he moves, he touches something held within a large pocket on the front of his leather coat, and moves closer to the goblin. So, were you the one to discover the victim?
As the group heads down the ladder to the lower deck, the darkness is lit up immediately in the vicinity as torches light up with your proximity. As you continue down towards the very bottom deck the lights extinguish as you move away from the torches in the top. (Like motion sensor lights).
Lespin is essentially waddling down the ladder and replies. “Well I was with William when we happened upon the body. He saw it first and I ran for help.” You end on the bottom deck as blue tunes that run along the floorboards and stretch out and through to where you imagine where the engines reside on the outside of the ship. You see William sitting on the ground trying to catch his breath next to a female half elf body. Her throat has been slit. You can see the pool of blood shining in the low light. Bandages crumpled up and soaked as it looks like William tried to use a healers kit to try and save the woman to no success. William mournfully says “I tried, we were too late.”
Squall - while not familiar with the woman, you recognize the traditional clothing and dragon marks immediately. She is clearly from house Lyrandar.
Taraki (Tara), Variant Human Knowledge Domain Cleric
Tara bows her head, shaking it at Squall's question and gently kneeling beside her body, slipping the emblem back into her bag. "There is nothing I can do, except for pray that she is shepherded safely beyond," she murmurs. "It's so different..." she adds softly, almost to herself. "Seeing it, not just learning about it." She takes a deep breath. "Not the same."
