As the ship veers to the left it feels like the floor dips out from underneath you, only to come back and catapult you to the side. Everyone manages to adjust and hold tight except for Virnen. Luckily he was on the ride side of the ship on the wing base. As he gets sent back over the railing and tumbling across the deck to crash into some tied down barrels. He takes 2 bludgeoning damage. James isn’t so fortunate. As he was holding onto the ropes and controlling the sails, he gets launched overboard. Clinging onto the rope for dear life as it pulls taught. It acts as a whip and flicks him off. “Aaaaaaggghh!” With a scream he is quickly put of your initial view as he begins to plummet towards the ground.
Squall is struggling to hold onto the controls as it’s taking all her strength to keep the ship steady once more. The jib swings across the deck one more.
Tara stifles a cry as James goes over, but manages to pull her focus back to the deck. "Ourelonastrix protects us, Ourelonastrix protect them," she prays quickly, as three tiny glowing blue dragons form on her shoulders as her eyes suddenly take on a soft golden glow. "I trust in your knowledge and wisdom, that you may ward us from harm." The three blue dragons take off from her shoulders, one flying to Jax, one to Lucky, and one to Squall, each of whom suddenly feel a trickle of foresight enter their minds.
OOC: Jax, Virnen, and Squall are all blessed, for the next minute (or until Tara loses concentration), they may add a d4 to any attack roll or saving throw.
Looking back desperately Salqwyn calls out. “Lucky! Get the kids to the back and have them jump over I can get five of them safely to the ground.” Then tries to quickly lash herself to the wheel.
After using his rope to tie himself to the ship, he would use the remaining length if his rope to tie Tara and Viren to himself as well. "Brace for impact." Jax would say as he holds on tightly to the ship with one hand and holding on tightly to Tara's robe with the other.
Tara grabs the rope as well, still white with shock as she focuses on trying to stay calm, her emblem locked in her fist as she manages a "Thank you," to Jax before lapsing into murmured Draconic.
Draconic:
"Ourelonastrix grant us knowledge. Dolarahnak grant us strength. Arawai grant us life. Balinor grant us awareness. Boldrei grant us warmth. Doldoranak grant us victory. Kolkorranath grant us success. Olladra grant us luck - we really need that right now. Onatar grant us creation. Ourelonastrix grant us foresight. I put my life into your hands and trust your wings shall carry me to Dolurrh when it is time. I trust in the Thir. The Sovereigns will watch over my family and the Dragon Gods shall watch over Zoeyris when I am gone." She then starts the prayer again from the beginning, the words blending into a soft, lyrical loop.
(DM says two rounds before the ship crash lands, so I'm guessing not enough time to enact Squall's plan? Correct me if I'm wrong).
Lucky shakes his head. You want me to throw kids over the side. What the hell? Look, if you've got a plan to help these folks, best do it now. We're running out of time and sky. If he still has time, Lucky will use a bonus action to give his second bardic inspiration to Squall to help her in whatever madness she has in mind, and then focus on bracing himself for impact. He also shifts, his form becoming more feline and beast-like, and he winks a single feline eye at the half-elf.

The group begins to brace for impact. Lucky’s hesitation leaves Squall no choice but to just try and land the ship with all aboard. The ship is hurdling towards the ground before it slams into the sandy orange dirt. As Giant explosions of sand and debris streak into the air. The airship bounces off the surface once, twice, before fully landing and sliding to a hault. As it does you feel every fiber of your muscles tense and rip as you struggle to keep yourself in place. Boards begin to splinter and crack as the integrity of the hull is severely damaged. The civilians scream as the land and begin to be tossed around in their hastily made knots let loose. You see Buddy the half Orc dive and tackle a couple into the floor. You see the large huddled figure of Moxely enveloping a group of children, shrieking them from flying debris. William is clinging on to some rope “HANG ON EVERYONE!” As he is clattered around.
Strength saving throw DC 15: on failure take 5 bludgeoning damage from the strain against the body and debris flying around.
DC 10: on a failure you get tossed in a random direction and take an additional 1 damage.
this is one save with a tiered save rate to show how well you tied yourself down and how you were able to hold on during the crash.
The dust settles, the group finds Squall and Lucky have been launched to the front of the ship as the dust settles. They lie in a pile of broken wood and barrels. People are crying and hugging, you see some wounded but mostly okay. William begins immediately to tend to the civilians. He orders Buddy to take care of getting the men to work once they’re all cleared. Looking around you see orange sand for miles without a sign of civilization.
Lucky picks himself up, wincing, still in shifted form and looking not too badly bruised. He looks around hastily, and then packs his equipment to make sure everything is still in order. He then joins William in looking at the wounded; if anyone has suffered a life-threatening injury, he will use magical healing to assist. Heya folks, don't mind me, just your friendly neighbourhood cat-guy, lemme take a look at that ankle. Gave yourself a nasty twist there and no mistake. Here, let me check it's not broken...

Self-Imposed Con ST (so Tara won't faint after her first real world encounter): 21
Tara stares around at the carnage, her breathing shallow. "Ourelon...Ourelonastrix preserve..." As she starts to whisper, her eyes suddenly roll up in her head as she collapses to the ground in a faint.
"It would appear I did and adequate job tethering the three of us to the ship." Jax would say before quickly turning and catching Tara as she began falling to the ground. After tossing Tara over his shoulder, he would begin removing the rope from himself and his companions. After securing his rope inside if his jacket, Jax would reposition the woman on his shoulders and make his way toward the injured. "Does anyone require immediate medical attention?" The warforged would ask as the sun reflected brightly off the top of his head.
Virnen, inherently nimble as an elf, springs back to his feet after the crash. Seeing Tara unconscious, and not having seen her faint, Virnen lets out a cry and says to Jax "Is she okay? Did we lose anyone?"
Groaning Salqwyn pushes debris off and slowly sits up. Bleeding down the side of her face from a cut above her eye. She holds her side as she gingerly stands. “Alive at least.“ Looking around at where everyone is “Captain! Captain can you hear me!”
Tara slowly stirs awake, and finds herself hanging over Jax's shoulders with a startled squeak. "Uh...put me down please?" she requests of the warforged in a slightly shaken voice, still quite pale, but awake.
"OK" Jax would reply as he lowered the woman. "You fell unconscious immediatly after the crash. I felt it wise to keep you close since there is a murderer still lose on the ship... or what is left of it" The warforged would add as he looked around at his surroundings.

"Thank you," Tara says quietly to Jax. "Judging from my prior research, it was a combination of the shock of the crash and overload of new stimulus. I'll be okay soon." She opens the hand holding her emblem (which she didn't let go of even when unconscious), frowning faintly at the small cuts on her palm where its corners dug into it. "...Oops." She looks at Virnen. "I agree. We should organize an area in which to centrally treat them, beginning at worst. If there is a nearby area like a cave or glade, that would be best. I can heal one person today, but I will soon be too exhausted to further channel Ourelonastrix's power. We also need to find out who has healing ability, whether magical or mundane, and get them with the injured. The non-healers should work on firming up shelter for the night. Finally, a few people who can fight should keep an eye on things." As she reels off the list of tasks, her tone becomes more professional and scholarly, and she regains some color, standing straighter and stronger. Tara looks around to see if she can remember anything from her studies about this area to try and figure out generally where they are and what sort of food, shelter, and danger it might offer.
