"I don't bring any rumours with me, but that is what I came here to find. My purse is unusually empty nowadays and I'm hoping to find a job that might correct that."
Danzen quickly points out " You all seem to be new around here so let me be the first to say welcome to Oakhurst, as I said this inn is the hustle and bustle of the town. We have humble accommodations and food and drink. Currently we are waiting on our shipment of apples for the year. Don't know when those will be here but should be in a few weeks. We pride ourself in Shiny Apple Pie, our house specialty. The areas of town include:
Village Hall. The center of government in Oakhurst includes the office of Mayor Vurnor Leng, a very noble man indeed.
General Store. The village's main source for supplies and merchandise is the general store, owned and operated by Kerowyn Hucrele, a fine noble woman.
Shrine. Advice, information, and healing are among the services dispensed at the village's shrine. It is maintained by Dem "Corkie" Nackle, a female gnome priest of Pelor.
Jail. Next to the village hall is a stout building where miscreants serve their sentences.
Blacksmith. Repairing and forging arms and armor is the job of the village smithy, Rurik Lutgehr, a male dwarf commoner. "

He says "You are sure to find work here, there are tales of the Sunless Citadel causing issues with out shipment of apples"
A halfling enters the inn and shivers despite having warm clothing. It is wearing winter gear, as is most here, but it is a little too large for it as if the person that made it did so for halflings of the tallest sort, of which he is not. At 3'1", the halfling is of middling height for its race.
After the halfling removes its coat, hat and boots, you can see that it is a young male halfling with ruffled curly sandy blond hair and green eyes. He is wearing leather armor and is armed with a rapier, two daggers, and a short bow. He places his pack upon the floor, straps his winter gear upon it, and picks his pack back up. He seems to be very happy to be out of the weather and inside a warm inn.
Looking around the crowded establishment, he sees a table with with what appears to also be travelers sitting with an available seat. He walks over to the table, smiles and introduces himself.
"Hello all. My name is Tolroc Effleby. Mind if I share your table and company?"
As soon as anyone answers, nods, or even seems to indicate the affirmative, Tolroc will climb into a seat at the table. He'll order a tea to warm his bones, an ale to quench his thirst, and a meal to fill his belly. Although the size of a human child, the halfling with devour the same amount of food as a human adult male while happily conversing with everyone at the table. He seems to enjoy the company just as much as the food.
"Tables fill up fast here I see..." Leon says with a nod to the halfling. To the owner of the place. "What is this sunless citadel you speak of?"
He says " Well no one knows for sure what the Sunless Citadel once was, but legends hint that it served as the retreat of an ancient dragon cult. There also is the Gulthias tree where I pay the highest bid to get the fruit for 50 gp a piece. There are healing qualities in the fruit. The goblins plant a seed inside the fruit to engender a new tree but, it seems each time not too long after the saplings reach 2 feet in height, they are stolen- every time. We assume the goblins send out thieves to ensure their monopoly of enchanted fruit. We sure would pay a great deal to know what is going on with the fruit. Don't want no one taking money I earned honestly." He looks at the hafling and says "Would you like something to drink?
Pulling a scroll case off of her back and placing it on the table and listening intently "Healing properties you say?" unfurling a piece of paper Dot will begin to jot notes down about these apples.

He says "Yes, the apple can apparently heals those who suffer from any disease or other. I will say though sometimes the goblins offer a different apple at midwinter. I think to keep the town inline to show who is boss. This apple is dangerous. Keep in mind it is white and quite ghostly looking."
"Has anyone ever investigated this? Anyone we could talk to before setting off?". Looking around the table Trystan adds: " I'm not trying to speak for everyone, but this seems like a job I'd like to take up and you all look like capable people."
He laughs and says " Well I can't remember the last time anyone, aside from Talgen and Sharwyn, asked questions about the Sunless Citadel. There was a guy about thirteen years ago, a grim human named Belak stopped by, and he had a very large pet frog. However, that was a while back. Now to think of it Talgen and Sharwyn never returned with their group. The paladin they had was named Sir Bradford and he had an amazing sword called Shatterspike, Would have be a shame to see that one go"

He says "Well I do know the last group I mentioned has not been seen for sometime and no one will go that way because cattle herders don't graze their stock anymore. They're frightened by stories of new monsters that maraud by night. From time to time, cattle and people who have gone out alone at night have been found dead the next day, bearing dozens of needle-like wounds. No one has seen the creatures that cause this mayhem, nor do they leave a discernible trail. However, it is the middle of the day so you should have nothing to worry about" "The Old Road skirts the Ashen Plain, a lifeless area"
Trystan leans back in his chair, bumping knees with someone, but not bothering to find out who. He snorts: "For an innkeep, you're not selling this very well, my friend. You make it sound very dangerous, but it's a risk I can take, especially with that kind of pay."

He says "As I rarely get out myself, the guys ahead of you might have done all the work for you" " Might be a easy as pie" he winks!
"Seems like a good venture to make some gold." Leon agrees. he glances to the group that has grown around his table. "Who wants in on this?" He asks them.

(Due to Tolroc's background as an archaeologist, will he have heard of, or know the history of, the Sunless Citadel?)

When the Githyanki's black eyes reach his, Trystan nods.
