Unless I missed something, I have no clue what you mean by chain.
DM said our task was to chain the Sunflag up so that the people from the inn can shoot at it. I'm not sure how we would know that in-character, plus any turns used to chain the monster could probably be better used to kill it.
(So, I'll just play catchup with this game by making one long post going through everything that happened so far and how my character reacted to all of it.)
Marfaen left out of the ship later than the rest of the group, being distracted by his book, he noticed too late that they had already stopped at land. He ran to catch up to them and when he arrived was when the screech was first heard. He looks up to the sky and tries to recall what he knew about the monster. (I'm just rolling this History check because Marfaen has proficiency in it and I want to see if he'd gather the same knowledge as Anders.)
After that, combat begins and for some reason, he decides that chaining the creature would be the way to go so he starts looking around the market to see if he finds any. (Hope that doesn't sound offensive, I'm just playing out of what we have here with this OOC post of yours:)
( okay, Alvion, you’re up. The Sunflag is 50 ft in the air, your objective is to chain it in place, so the others in the inn can shoot it down. The market square is a big circle surrounded by shops, about a 70ft radius. What do you do?)
(I'm assuming somehow our characters knew the only, single way to get rid of this monster was chaining it down in place, and there may or may not be any chains visible for us to pick up. If there aren't, then looking for it is what seems like the most reasonable course of action. This feels a bit railroad -y, or either just poor communication, but I'm not here to judge, I'll just follow what the DM said.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Still recovering from the earsplitting screech from a few moments ago, Orollo dives behind the bar to find a loose tankard - to steady his spirits of course (Investigation: 9) Sadly disappointed in his search, he flings himself towards the staircase!
Stumbling after the fighters, he takes one look at the beast soaring overhead, yells something in a slurred dialect of dwarvish, and stays out of sight. (Initiative: 19) Squeezing his eyes shut, he starts muttering something under his breath. After a few tense moments as the other adventurers rumble past to make their attacks against the creature, Orollo runs to a window facing the square and claws at the latch. Opening it, he expels a mighty held breath, finishing the last word in an incantation with an explosively loud baritone piacere and, with a helpful gesture, casts major image in the middle of the square, where none of the local populace remain. An enormous creature suddenly appears, as if rushing out from a side alley - a sow of immense size, at least 17 feet in length, and easily 8 ft tall at the shoulder. It stumbles on the cobblestones, presenting skyward a side of bacon the likes of which the world has yet to see!
(How's that for a chain? Here's hoping the beasty is hungry! Apologies that I couldn't find a moment to interject a post earlier - I wasn't expecting quite to rapid a leap into the fray! Still, there'll always be time later for all sorts of RP fun.)
After taking a beating, the sight of an easier catch is welcome to the Sunflag. Though, your hear a strange hum, getting louder underneath your feet. The Sunflag swoops in, and ( 18 ) swoops in with malicious intent, and easily swoops back up, until he realizes there is no food to be found. He roars in anger.
The Sunflag's fire sac is red hot, and as he opens his mouth, you can see magma boiling. The behemoth takes in a bellowing breath, and shoot forth a volley of fireballs, one at the top of the black heaven inn, one at Alivont, and one at Silas in the corner.

Silas was so close, but the fireball hits him with full force ( 20ft sphere, 6d6 )
( Everyone at blackheaven and Alivont roll dexterity saving throw )

The Sunflag Fails to keep the frost at bay, but due to the extreme heat, he only is hurt a small portion ( resistance to cold damage )
( do you wanna do anything else? )
(Anders used a move to get into place for the shot and an action to cast the Frostbite. He is done for his turn. Even if the damage is reduced, having disadvantage on its next attack will be cool...)
( Yea, but disadvantage doesn’t mean crap when you’re not rolling. )

(It looked like you rolled an 18 to hit the illusion to me, although it was not in the on-line dice roller so I am not sure.)
(And as an aside to the other players, if this creature can move, use an action to attack, then use another action(?) to throw 3 fireballs at 3 different targets, we may be in wayyyy over our heads.)

(Okay, I think we already knew that. Are you going to roll that damage or should someone else be doing that? By the way, here's Marfaen's turn once it comes back around to him.)
Marfaen's first search for a chain fails, so he keeps the second round trying again to see if he can find any chain this time around.
You need to roll that with the dice roller here, or did you roll it and give us the value somewhere above? Is that what the roll in the first post, when the creature did the fireball attacks was for?
(It looked like you rolled an 18 to hit the illusion to me, although it was not in the on-line dice roller so I am not sure.)

(I don't know why you're taking so much time discussing whether the dragon attacking an illusion had disadvantage or not because it's an illusion, but you do have a point with your other message. To be fair, we're 8, if we follow strictly the campaign page, so against one single enemy, we might have a chance, except for the fact that we're still under the strict obligation of having to chain the creature to the ground as our win condition.)

(That roll on the first post was assumedly not the damage of the fireball but actually the Dexterity saving throw of Silas.)
(Sorry, I am just having trouble following everything that is going on, trying to visualize the combat in my mind. Let me know when it is Anders' initiative again and I will post his turn then.)

Michael figures the best he can do at this point is continue shooting...
When it is his turn again, here are his attacks:
First Attack: 28 Damage: 10
Second Attack: 15 Damage: 7
He will then step into the building, closing the door, if possible, so any further fireballs cannot hit those inside.
(Also, on the fireball attack, Michael would have cast absorb elements giving himself resistance to fire as the ball hit. Please let me know what the damage is on the fireball, so I can take 1/4 the damage...)
