Zee turns back from the tunnel, his eyes glazed over as he daydreams of the open sky. “Uhhhh, yeah, I totally wasn’t running away there.” He listens out to see if he can hear any invisible hag footsteps. Perception9
Zee stands there, calmly. Occasionally he can hear the drop of water splash in the cavern, and the incessant panting from his comrades. But there is no sign or sound from the hag.
In addition to being pretty creepy and poorly groomed, the subject of hags are of a mystery to you. However, you do know from your studies that objects, both mundane and magical, are often used to assist in teleportation and plane shifting. If that is the sort of spell she cast, then her abilities far exceed yours.
Caspia shakes her head. "Hags....always running from a fight."
She begins carefully searching the other belongings in the room to see if there is anything of interest to the group or any clues on where the hag could be heading.
The wall of alchemical items contains a plethora of items for many uses. You do note that over half of the items relate to divination type magics. While you are uncertain of the exact spell the witches brewed you do find a small ornate silver mirror on the ground near the overturned cauldron. The mirror drips with the stenchy remains of whatever filled the cauldron. This particular polished mirror looks of extremely fine craftsmanship, but it has unfortunately had it's glass shattered and silver exterior slightly bent by the violence of the overturned cauldron. Undoubtabley it's value has been diminished, but it likely would still fetch a fair number of coins from the right buyer.
Caspia Investigation: 8
Apart from the chest on the eastern side of the room and the alchemical items that Gulin is currently ransacking, you do not notice anything of note.
Reynnar and Gulin:
With your passive investigative abilities, out of the corner of your eyes you believe you spot a false stone facade behind the chest on the eastern wall.
Reynnar sits down on the floor cross legged, “I’m just gonna take a moment to meditate buddies, you can join if you like it’s good for ya. That little experience got my heart beating a little fast you know?” He begins to chant to himself (casting detect magic as a ritual)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gulin takes a look at the mirror, before stashing it into the bag of holding. "Hmm, perhaps with a bit of tinkering, I might be able to mend this." He also gathers the shards of glass, putting them into a small sack.
He then heads over to the false facade, looking for a latch or release. He waves Reynnar over to help.
The false facade behind the chest is a series of expertly stacked rocks. After stepping back to consider how to attack the issue, you decide to take the traditional approach of tackling the structure from the top down. A few minutes later and there is a small pile of rocks in the room, but a new alcove has been revealed. The alcove is only a few feet deep and it smells terrible. In the corner of an alcove is a still rotting corpse, though somehow the hags have prevented insects from entering this area and picking apart the remains. The features appear elven, and the skin color has turned a brownish-black through decomposition.
As you look over the body you find the follow items: a chain shirt, a hand crossbow, 20 bolts, and a shortsword. The shortsword is of particular note. It does not appear to be magical, but it has been forged out of silver opposed to iron. Carved along the side of the shortsword in eloquently flourished cursive undercommon are the word's "Spider's Bite."
"Well. That's right about the least good that could have happened here." Gulin says, wiping some oil from his hands.

Gulin thinks to what he saw as the hag disappeared - was the stone some sort of beacon/teleporter? Was it more illusionary or conjuration?

"So. Bad news, I think she's escaped. Which means we can't chop off her slimey head and show Manistred for the bounty."
Gulin pauses. "Worse news, I think we now have a coven of hags angry at us."
He begins looking through the random jars of alchemical stuff, attempting to identify what brews the witch has brewed.
