I'll take standard array unless there's a specific way you'd like abilities to be rolled.
Name: Dahvik Aloro
Race: Wood Elf
Class: Monk (Open Hand)
Alignment: Lawful Good
Backstory:
Dahvik was the youngest son of a noble family, meaning he had plenty of money but none of the responsibilities. No one really cared what he did, as long as he didn't disgrace the family. To tell the truth, he did. He was selfish and spiteful, taking particular joy in taunting those less fortunate than he. This all changed one day at the poker table in a stunning flash of self-awareness. It was one of those lucid moments we get sometimes, when suddenly see through the emptiness and futility of everything around us. Dahvik realized he was wasting his life. He stood up, left his money on the table, and much to the surprise (and relief) of his family headed for a monastery.
After many years, he left the monastery to follow where his ki would lead him. It led him to seek out one of the others of the party (DM's choice). Far from being childhood friends, Dahvik had made this individual a special target of his mockery and had publicly humiliated them on more than one occasion. Dahvik hopes somehow to make amends.
The catch? Upon entering the monastery, Dahvik had taken an oath of silence. His actions must speak instead of his words.
I'll leave to the DM's discretion whether the hermit or noble background will better serve the plot.

Name: Dwal Fiercehammer
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Class: Bard
Motivation: Seeker of knowledge and new experiences
Backstory: Born into the Fiercehammer Clan on one of its most auspicious days, the founding day of the clan, Dwal was immediately cast as a lore keeper. At an early age he was taught by the best dwarven tutors and on his coming of age Dwal went through the rights of passage and was to ascend to the official office, Dwal declined. It was the hardest day in Dwal's life but also the most freeing. Packing up his things and setting out with his favorite mule, Maggie Jay, Dwal set out to find the adventure that called to his heart.
Now this plague ravages the land. Dwal has received word some of his kin have survived, fleeing to this safe haven Dwal now stands. Dwal seeks his kin, and answers.
"Adventurers Wanted: In a group of four or six? An interested party is looking for adventurers to help retrieve stolen artifacts and tomes from bandits harassing city's trade routes. Apply within."
You and your party read the scroll posted on a wall outside a tavern called the Gnawed Knight. The tavern is on the cusp of the city nearest the slums that separate the city proper and the docks. You and your party had been on a ship for weeks having escaped with the fifth wave of refugees leaving behind a plague wreaking havoc on your homeland. The party has heard tales of the coastal jewel of the Talamh Empire named Sul na Mara. The scroll is damp but it's relatively new and not too covered in grime like the others. Although slightly more cryptic without the upfront promise of gold which seems much more promising than the other older scrolls for less than twenty gold pieces or the promise of common enchantments.
The Game:
DM is looking for the following 4-6 players:
1 Start 3rd level characters (no multi-classing yet); starting equipment +100 gp of equipment PLEASE shop 2 ALL PhB based classes welcome (possible other DnD sources upon approval); all material must be on your DnDBeyond character sheet please. 3 ALL PhB races (I'll have PhB access but it's the only book I own on DnDBeyond) 4 A short backstory but a willingness to adapt to the greater story arc as well as your PCs own story needs 5 Alignments: Any good or neutral alignments; I'll except lawful evil if you've got a REALLY good reason you'd work with a group. 6 Multi-post per day commitment; meaning at least checking to board twice a day for story flow
NOTE: You will already be a group so discuss possible ties to one another. Good starters: met on the boat or childhood friends or relatives....
Please leave an application below! Thanks! PM if you've got questions.
This is the requirements. Please read my terms. Thank you.

race: Teifling
Class: Warlock of the celestial
Name: Astral
Backstory: Shunned for his appearance tied to the infernal, Ast found himself not fitting in with many crowds. He didn’t mind it, he liked not being noticed. That said, he did often find himself talking to himself without any friends to talk to, at least that’s what he thought. As it turned out, he did have someone listening, a small light is what he eventually appeared to Astral as, he called himself Lux and made Ast promises, of power and a grander purpose. This admittedly scared Ast as he was content with his small pocket of the world, but the draw of adventure became to alluring to Astral. After a week he agreed to a pact with Lux so he mayhaps find his greater purpose
