Grimnir tends to his fellows conpanions. "Rest for tonight, we can camp one more day here so you all gather your strengh. Tomorrow morning, I will use my magic to remove any diseases, just as Brox can do. Be strong"
Grimnir is then resting and prepares new spell for the next day: Lesser Restoration to cure the guards and Purify Food and Drink, a ritual to purify all the group food and water (Grimnir will now purify all food/water every night) Grimnir will also prepare Detect Poison and Disease and cast it as a ritual in the morning to see if he can detect where the poison or the disease is coming from
Brox feels the life drain from her companions. Then she realises, that the magic that flows through her hands might help. She returns and lays her hands on the shoulders of each of the sick. She speaks a prayer and conjures the image of light flowing through her body. At the touch of her hand the light rids the bodies of the disease. Soon, everyone feels better again. [lay on hands for 5HP each]

Grimnir, you go through the purification, and purge any disease or rot from the existing rations. When you then go to Detect Poison and Disease, you confirm the food is cleansed, and detect no disease within the area of the casting. Other members of your party claim to have eaten the same food and not fell ill. The Emerald Conclave confirms it sometimes takes a few days before outward signs of the disease is shown. The now recovering Lord's Alliance don't recall being bitten by anything that could carry that disease, so the origin of it remains somewhat of a mystery.
Given the things you've encountered in the Underdark over the past year, you decided it's enough that you've confirmed the disease is gone for now, and continue following the pull of the ring West.
Several more days of travel at a decent pace send you deep in the Underdark. Occasional grumbles from the troops bubble up, and a few minor arguments break out. Most of them seem to wonder just how long this expedition is, though they recognize the dire circumstances. For now the arguing is kept to a minimum. You pass through a snake-like cavern with various tunnels leading from it on all sides. The rings keeps you on a steady path, but you notice as several octopus type creatures retreat into caverns as your entourage walks by. You recall encountering a creature like this in your first trek through the Underdark, but it seems they are smart enough not to mess with your large group.
After a tenday of travel from Mantol-Derith, Peebles, who up until now had remained relatively silent, approaches Belwar. "We are near my home... I am familiar with this path, and it will take us to a nest of purple worms, but... I know a way around. Let me show you?" He looks at the deep gnome expectantly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Belwar informs the others, and they agree the nest is best avoided. Peebles leads the army away from the path they were following down an offshoot tunnel. Grimnir takes note that although it's not exactly where the ring is taking them, it's in the same general direction.
Several hours of travel later, Peebles takes the group up a steep ledge, claiming to know a cavern they can take rest in for the evening. At the top, he shows you the cavern, which is wide, with a 30 foot domed ceiling. In the center of the cavern you see what looks like a pit about 20 feet wide. Peebles rushes in ahead of the group, and loudly calls out, "Master! Master, I've returned!"Before you have time to figure out what he's doing, a large, bulbous creature rises out of the pit. More than a dozen tiny eyes open as the creature floats above the center of the room, and then a final large eye opens and stares directly at you. A drawling croaking voice comes from the aberration. "Exxxxxcellent. Your service is appreciateddddd, dear Peeeeeebles. Xazax is sooooo hungryyyyyyy."With no further warning, the Beholder attacks.
Xazax rises 15 more feet above the pit, nearing the ceiling, and casts his gaze down up on the group where you have entered the cavern. The cavern stretches out about 30 feet on either side of him, reaching around 60 feet behind. Several things happen at once.
Brox, the light of Dawnbringer fades to black, and the voice of the sword cries out briefly before it is silenced in your mind. The cavern is plunged into darkness. (Those with dark vision can see as if in dim light.) You also feel some of your divine power, that fueled by your spells and spell slots, weaken to the point of unusability.
Oorr, since the moment you acquired the sword in Silverymoon you have felt a wrath and pull to do battle with the Eye of the Storm whenever it draws blood. That urge is suddenly gone, as the magical energy of the sword vanishes. Your armor loses it's shine, reverting to standard studded leather.
Grimnir, Amanita's magical energy is quieted. The blade is still solid, but the magical properties are now inert.
Belwar. you watch as the magic is extinguished from the weapons and armor of your companions, yet strangely you feel normal. The familiar feel of arcane energy still pulses through you, and the Stonespeaker Crystal still hums. You are aware of the anti-magic cone that Beholders emit from their central eye, but if everyone has been affected except you, then that means you've been left out of the area of effect...
Xazax laughs loudly as he watches most of your magical items give up their power. His eye stalks snake around his head, peering for targets. Three of them latch on to Belwar. You notice that some of them move with purpose, while others seem to limply flail about. Before you have time to dwell too long on that, the monster attacks, and three beams of energy all shoot out at Belwar.
All attacks on Belwar: Charm Ray - DC 16 Wisdom Saving Throw or be Charmed by Xazxax. Telekinetic Ray - DC 16 Strength Saving Throw or be Restrained and thrown. Sleep Ray - DC 16 Wisdom Saving Throw or be put to Sleep for one minute.
Belwar manages to dodge the first two beams, but the third lands squarely on the deep gnome and he immediately falls to sleep. The beholder scoffs, "My aim iiiiiis usuallly betttttter."
Grimnir sees Belwar falling on the floor and shouts at one of his man "Go check up on him ! I need to focus on that nasty eye."
He then runs (50ft) around the creature, enough to be out of the anti magic field and cast a new druidic spell. "Time for you to go back in the Darkness". Following his incantation, spores seem to regroup close to the eye of the Beholder. Casting Blindness/Deafness CON14 or Blinded for 1minute (with possibility to preroll at the end of each of its turn)
After casting his spell, Grimnir tries to find a rock to take some cover.

Paralyzing Ray on Oorr: The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Enervation Ray on Oorr. The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or fall asleep and remain [condition]unconscious[condition] for 1 minute. The target awakens if it takes damage or another creature takes an action to wake it.

". . . Why is there a nest of purple worms? Never mind, stupid question; this is the Underdark. Yes, let's try avoiding the nest of purple worms."
