Jill smiles and nods at Corrin when she gives her a little elbow before following her down the stairs. "Thank you, Mademoiselle Yasei," she whispers. "but I am quite capable of handling him myself." She waits to see what it was that they were called to handle.

Sana gets the ship in the air before they get shot, then joins the group in the main cabin, which has a big round table and a display screen on the back. She immediately hits some buttons and brings up a map of space. On it, Realmspace is identified as a large orb. Moving towards it steadily is a red blip, which Sana taps to bring up an image of the Hive. "Right, this is what we're up against. My husband and I found it a few months ago, but we thought it was abandoned. Evidently it's...not. And it's headed straight for Toril." She gives the group a serious look. "My husband is off-sphere looking for assistance and information, but chances are he won't find anything before it's too late. So it's up to us to stop this thing, or at least delay it for as long as possible." Sana crosses her arms, the changeling suddenly looking very serious. "Everyone on Toril - in all of Realmspace - is depending on us. Even if they don't know it."
Jill listens to Captain Sana give her mission report, before cocking her head over to Misha and Corrin. "Ready to save the world again?" She says with a half-smile.
"Of course."Misha smiled cockily. "What else do we do?"
Sana nods over to Misha, and that's her cue. The Acheronian punches a few buttons on the console and stands in front of the display. It shows a species of beholders.
"Thees meesion centers around the remnants of a long dead spaceborne race of beholders. As you may know, beholders hold few ideals higher than destroying each other due to their paranoid and raceest behavior. Space beholders, apparently, are no deefferent. About 1,200 years ago, een a distant crystal sphere far across the phlogiston, deefferent natural laws allowed a particular beholder nation to grow to enormous size, over ten thousand strong. They called themselves the Sazaur."
The images changes to a truly enormous beholder, and an asteroid.
"Led by the Hive Mother Queen, a beholder of truly horrible size and power, the Sazaur warred with other beholders of the sphere. However, when the Queen died een battle, the Sazaur nation went eento eclipse. The remaining Sazaur resolved to regain their supremacy. How? They would create a great artifact using the dead Queens eye stalks. In addition to this, over the next two hundred years, the Sazaur hollowed out an asteroid to create a huge incubator called the Hive. Inside the Hive they built a terrible planet destroying weapon called the Ravager."
The image changes to a cut side view of the asteroid, which houses a beholder that makes the Hive Queen look like a pea. The asteroid has many huge rooms inside it.
"The Sazaur never got a chance to complete their artifact using the Hive Mother's eyes, for they first animated the Ravager, and used it - once. The damage eet caused on a planetary scale was truly horrific. Eventually, the Sazaur were killed by the Ravager and the Hive floated in deep space, lost in the phlogiston. Why ees all of thees important? Because one day, when Sana and Chandor refit the Belle for Spelljamming, they came across the Hive and were shocked at it's size and nature, but didn't think anything of it. The entire Hive and the Ravager were inert. So, they simply charted eet's course and thought nothing of it. Een the record logs eet remained."
The images changes to a map that Sana and Chandor have plotted - it shows the direction the Hive is now taking.
"A few days ago, the Hive changed course. It's headed straight for Toril in Realmspace. And we're going to go to it, find out what's going on, and see eef we can stop eet before it claims another world. We know nothing of it's defenses- other than someone, or something, has acteevated the Hive again and ees steering it towards thees world."
Avian, after being threatened, dragged around, then presented with a realm destroying mission.....eagerly replies, clapping his hands together, "Soundz fun!~ Looks like we have our work cut out uz, no? Go team!" He puts his hand out for a classic, go team moment, jokingly looking for anyone else to join in.
Corrin is all wide-eyed and amazed at the imagery Misha shows them, completely entranced by the story. She's practically bouncing in place at the end, like a child on a sugar high. "That looks so terrifyingly awesome, guys, I am SO ready for this!" She's beaming and when Avian puts his hand out, she automatically brings hers in as well, looking expectantly to Jill and Misha.

Sana giggles and sticks her hand in the circle. "For those of you who need a Spelljamming primer, I'll be holding a brief lesson in the dining hall after dinner," she says before adding with a wink, "More interactive diagrams and pictures - and a tour of the ship - than dense explanations, I promise. I barely got this stuff through my head when it was explained that way."
Avian grins at Sana, "You know I know my way around a lass like this(he means the ship). Just point me to where you want me~ I'm happy with anywhere, even the bed chambers~" He gives another playful wink to the group.
After dinner, Sana pulls up a diagram onscreen. It shows Toril. Sana zooms it out, past several other planets, until they are viewing the Realmspace crystal sphere. "This," she says cheerfully, "is Realmspace. The shell around it is called a crystal sphere. Everything inside this crystal sphere is a part of Realmspace. The stars are stuck on the inside of the Realmspace sphere. Some stars are portals through the sphere, others are portals to super dangerous other Planes like the Plane of Fire or Plane of Positive Energy. Now, outside of the Realmspace sphere..." Sana zooms out again, and the Realmspace sphere shrinks until it only takes up about a quarter of the screen. Around it is a swirling rainbow fog. "That fog is called the phlogiston. It takes up the space between the spheres and there are flowrivers, which connect them. We use flowrivers to get between spheres fast. Now a quick rule about the phlogiston. It is extremely flammable. Restrict use of fire as much as possible while we're in it. This ship is a spelljamming ship." Sana pats the wall. "We've had her outfitted with a special helm that can convert magical energy into movement. I'll probably be doing most of the steering, as I know her and I don't just rely on my magic for battle, but whenever we have quiet days, anybody with magic may feel free to give her a go under supervision." The changeling grins. "Now, that's spelljamming explained, and I'll give a tour of the ship for anyone interested!"
Jill nods her head as Sana explains what Realmspace is and how Spelljammers work. "Ah. That clears things up a bit. I have traveled through the planes a bit when I was younger, but that is a story we can tell later and it does not involve Spelljamming. Unfortunately I do not possess much in the way of magical talent, but I would like a tour of the ship."

Yasei is flabbergasted....all this talk of space spheres and flubber-powered boats was too much for her to believe. Surely it's witchcraft. The work of mystical beings. Beyond anything that her simple mind could comprehend.
Feeling lightheaded, she asks Captain Sana for directions to her state room, as her head is swirling with weird images of rivers in space....she needs some peaceful meditation to clear her thoughts, and focus her warrior mind towards the mission ahead.
Sana nods at Yasei's request. "Absolutely! Right this way." Sana shows Yasei (and anyone else who wants a rest) to the hall of cabins.
Each cabin is relatively simple, with a bed, desk, chair, and room for any personal effects.
Sana then leads the rest of the group on a tour of the ship. She starts with the helm, a device of black stone and silver metal with a black padded chair. Then she moves on to the basic rooms, like the kitchen, dining hall (which the group has seen), armory, guns (she reserves an extra moment to give each of these a fond pat), and clinic. Sana adds that she tends to handle most of the healing needs on the ship with her Tymora granted power. Then the changeling moves on to the two...less orthodox rooms on the ship.
First is the shrine to Tymora, which Sana doesn't spend too much time on. The small room holds an altar to Lady Luck and a simple memento of each of Sana's past trips. They range from strangely shaped driftwood to a battered symbol of Tharizdun.
The second room holds what looks like a gold orb, although anyone who got closer would see that the surface of the sphere seems to almost ripple. The faintest spark of light is visible in the depths of the sphere, but it's very faint. Sana smiles. "This is the Luckchanger, a gift from Tymora. It's what helped me find all of you, although that used up most of its power for the immediate future. The Luckchanger alters the flow of fortune, and only a Luckbringer, a paladin of Tymora like me, can use it. It makes things more likely to go in your favor. If it recharges before we have to face the Hive, that would be good, but I don't know if it will. It used a lot of power showing me the five of you and then guiding me - and you - to where we would all meet."
Jill claims one of the rooms as her own and it doesn't take long for her to make it her own, as she did not bring too many of her possessions along, since she wasn't planning on taking a cruise. She also took the time to get suited up again and she couldn't deny that it felt good to wear her armor and have her sword at her side again. I had feared that after all these years, it would not fit. Fortunately, that is not the case.

Xenophon: Topaz Dragonborn Fighter (ixi's Dragon of Icespire Peak)
Looking out over the rail, you watch as the blue sky and white clouds turn into darkness. In the void hangs the stars you have seen all your lives, but they seem brighter, thrown into sharp contrast by the black sky. Despite the darkness, the air is no longer cold, but as warm as a spring day. In the distance, you see a bright orb of blue and brown covered in wisps of white like cotton. You realize this is your homeworld. At least, for some of you. In the few moments it takes for this to sink in, the land of your birth continues to shrink, becoming no more than a speck in a much larger realm.
According to the star charts, it will take the Belle about a week's time at fast cruising speed to reach the Hive. The day is divided into three watches of eight hours, arbitrarily designated day watch, evening watch, and night watch. The change is signaled by a loud Acheronian chime, and an arcane hourglass keeps time. Although there is no difference between day and night in Wildspace, you still follow a terrestrial schedule instinctively - unless you don't require sleep, or very little like, say, Misha. She lacks the chemical component in her brain that requires her to rest and lack of sleep is not dangerous for her, nor damaging. Probably why she's so dumb. Just kidding.
You are assigned watches. You can decide who takes what watch.
Someone needs to cook food. Someone needs to swab the deck. Whoever is on watch at the time can perform these tasks. Always keep busy. There's something to do at all times. Day watch starts with breakfast in the galley for everyone who is not on watch duty. When the first bell is rung, everyone is expected to rise except those who were on night watch. Breakfast is taken out to those on watch. About midday comes lunch. Evening watch signals dinnertime, the largest meal of the day. As with breakfast, the whole crew gathers, save those who served last watch (who sleep) and those currently on duty.
Jill waved goodbye to Waterdeep as it got smaller and smaller with the boat ascending to space. Jill took cooking duty, as eight years of looking after Corrin had made her into a good cook. She would take the midday watch and in the evening, when she was free, she looked out into the void, getting a close look at all of the stars, as well as the sun, and the moon that was her namesake. While she stared, she saw a familiar being floating in the void. "No. Impossible." She mutters before running off to get Misha. She takes the Acheronian to look off of the railing, pointing at the being in the void. "It is the gnoll you knocked into space! From all of those years ago!" She breaks into laughter, as she sees this reminder of their first adventure, years ago in a faraway land, on a planet she had now left.

Sana laughs as Jill points it out, amused despite the fact that she wasn't there for that. She assigns watches briskly, rotating them so that nobody has the same watch twice in a row, and makes sure people who can cook have the watches directly before meals. Everyone takes a turn swabbing the deck too, Sana included. The changeling also teaches anyone who wants to how to steer the ship during the week.
Misha particularly enjoyed the time she got steering the ship. One night when her feet were up and she was attempting to read a book she barely understood - an event monitor bleeped on the the control panel of the helm and it startled her, she nearly dropped the book. She looked at the panel. What ees thees? She got up and looked out for a moment in the direction the panel had indicated something was approaching - or we were approaching it. She walked back to the chair. She hit a button on the communications control panel, and held it down.
"Sana."she announced. "Thees ees Misha. Please report to the bridge."
