(I'm going to use my inspiration) Investigation: 24
Since we are in one of the most popular Taverns in Waterdeep, once our work related conversation wraps up I'll start trying to see if I can't get the attention of one of the servers in the tavern, "Pardon me, I'm know it's a stretch but I'm looking for a dear friend of mine that I heard came through Waterdeep, and apparently if you come to Waterdeep, you have to stop at the Yawning Portal." While talking he pulls out his profile sketch of her. "Her name was Lilliana, she has long black hair, normally in a ponytail, sharp blue eyes, a constant brilliant smile, and always had a few piercings in the helix of her ears. In fact if she was here we might have tried to sing for your guest, and that you'd remember."
If the first waitress doesn't remember he would move on to a few more until he just headed for the tavern owner, each time with roughly the same pitch. If he gets through his conversation with the waiters/waitresses and the bar owner and still doesn't have anything to go on I'll add some more, based on what he would do after that.
The first few servers you speak with are not able to offer up anything helpful. The fourth one you speak to, however, seems to have a spark of recognition upon seeing the sketch. "I think I recall someone who matches that description being here a while back. Maybe 5-6 tendays ago? Beautiful young girl with a voice smooth as silk and sweet as honey. I never really spoke with her, though. She'd come in every now and then, sing for a time, and then leave. Never took any money, far as I can tell. Seemed almost like she couldn't help but sing. Like there was a song inside her heart that couldn't be contained. Sorry. I don't remember anything else that could help you find her, but I hope you do."
The rest of your time asking people gets you roughly the same information. Some people remembering a little less, some a little more, but no one really remembering the last time they saw her.
A gold coin would be considered a very good tip. On the topic of money, unless people are going to be doing more drinking, Fjordix owes 2 sp for the gallon of ale he purchased for everyone.
Is everyone ready to head to the High Road Charter Company and see if you can reconnect with Jamma? (Elaim will get you in touch with Sapply Dunben in the morning.)
You make your way through the city and find the High Road Charter Company with ease. While trying to look for Jamna, she ends up finding you.
"There you are. Good! Here's what I've been able to discover so far. The cultists are camped out not too far from here, and the Thayan is still with them. They took their horses and wagons to a stable just inside the North Gate. There were other wagons already there, and, by the look of things, those wagons are owned by the cult as well. A nearby warehouse seems to be stockpiling goods to send north for Lord Neverember's road construction project. I saw small groups of the cultists we traveled with go in there together with some of the other wagon crews, and they seemed much more friendly with one another than I've seen them before. I over heard them lament that they weren't able to make it in time to leave with today's work crew heading north, but they will at least be able to leave with tomorrow's. That group is scheduled to leave just after noon tomorrow. How did your meeting at the Yawning Portal go?"
Well, our meeting went well, at least for what it was. We didn't receive any new enlightening information but at least some people are paying attention now. We have a little business to take care of in the morning before we head out. What about you Jamna, what do you have planned next?
"We still need to know what they're planning, so I intend to follow them until I can figure it out. Take care of your business and meet me back here before noon. I'll make sure we all have a spot on the same caravan as the cult."
[Unless there's something else you want to do, you can easily find lodging somewhere for the night (1 gold per person). In the morning, do you want to meet with Elaim and go to the Tower of Luck first, or would you rather seek out the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors first?]
Do we feel like we would have enough time to do both and then get back here by noon or is it a choose one or the other?
Arliden would vote for the Tower of Luck since he really doesn't want to just be constantly recognized while trailing a cult LOL, but if we only pick one I actually think the Watchful Order might be more important.
Unless someone says otherwise, let's head to the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors first thing in the morning. As for accommodations, Arliden really doesn't feel like playing for his room and would rather just pay tonight. He'll look for someplace reasonable, not crazy expensive, and especially not insanely rowdy.
After a good night's rest, you all meet up again in the morning and are directed to the nearest location where you can find the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors. Fjordix meets up with Samardag to get Dakerian (the stag) and return to the group. Finally, you all make your way to a rather nondescript building with a simple sign above the door that simply reads, "Watchful Order." Upon entering, you are greeted by a rather bored looking elf seated behind a desk.
"Hello there! My name is Arliden and I certainly hope you can help. We were directed here by some acquaintances of ours to see if you all could help us deal with a curse of sorts. Fjordix, not sure if you want to offer some additional explanation here?"
"Yes..." Fjordix begins, motioning towards the door, "Outside is a friend of mine whom I mistakenly hunted due to his current form. You see he was cursed to walk the earth as a stag with a treasured coat so that others might hunt him. He asked that I protect him, and bring him to a magic user who might undo the curse" Fjordix looks the man over, "Would that be you?"
In the same bored voice the elf behind the desk says, "That would not be me. I just work the desk and direct people where to go. If it's the removal of a curse you're after, that would require an abjurer. Give me just a moment." As he says this, he checks some paperwork on his desk. "Here we are. Looks like Vadania should be able to help you out. Please have a seat, and she'll be right out." As soon as he's done speaking, he appears to write something down.
A few minutes later, a female elf walks into the room and says, "Please, come back this way, and bring the stag with you." Once you all make it to the back room she says, "So, I don't normally offer my services to people who walk in off the street, but your story has intrigued me. Tell me some more about this curse. I've not seen its like before, and any information you can offer will aid me in removing it. Also, you're familiar with guild prices for this type of service, correct?"

and he gives the first girl with information a gold coin just for her time. (assuming that's a reasonable tip here, if not Arliden would give more)

Yep!

I agree with Arliden’s plan. We need to try to avoid notice if possible, but we do need to keep them close.

OOC: Is she asking me for the stags story?
Rex is taking a look at the decor while this whole thing is going down.

[Yes. She's asking for as much information about what happened as you can/want to give her.]
