Doc puts his hand on baymen's shoulder imitating his earlier gesture and says, "[Statement] They should be proud to have you in their service today then."
Fargoth resumes examining the overturned carriage. "I suppose we ought to keep going, although it'll take longer on foot..." He starts rummaging about inside the carriage, looking for food and any other supplies that might be useful - and easy to carry.
With a strange mixture of confusion as to what to do next, Baymen ponders the surrounding area. He's not sure what to do about the cart, and he thinks the driver is the one who knew the direction they were going. Should they go back to the inn? What if the good people there are in trouble?
First he'll use his Divine Sense, then he'll ask the group if they should go back to the inn, while standing as far into the wilderness as he can without shouting.
(Divine Sense. As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover. You can use this feature 3 times per long rest.)
"Though we may have just suffered an incident, none of us are harmed mortally, and, we may yet salvage the cart. I am worried about what we are to do now however. If anyone knows the direction we are supposed to go, let us weight that against going back to the inn. While it may seem a lost cause, whoever attacked us, may also be attacking them."
"Ms. Carzyre won't just be sitting at the tavern with a mug of ale", Fargoth adds as he packs a few of the scavenged items quickly, then looks round the others for reassurance. "She won't, right?"
I think everyone has rope, otherwise I was going to offer it up, Fargoth will take one of the two lengths, if that's ok.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Baymen shrugs off his suspicions and focuses on moving. He agrees with Kinda and begins to follow forward.
"If anyone is an authority on vehicles, speak now, or let us salvage what wood and other parts we can carry then leave. I would say that cloth, nails, and the like may come in handy."
Baymen cannot tell if can be fixed, he waits a moment to see if anyone knows if it can be, and if nobody speaks up, he scans it.
Since the cart cannot be repaired, Baymen will look to see if any part of it can be broken and carried for other use, perhaps crafting. Perception: 20

Fargoth tenses as he walks at the front of the group, waving to them to stop and quiet down. "Perhaps some dinner for later", he whispers as he unslings his bow and readies an arrow. The unassuming wood-elf suddenly takes on the stance of an experienced hunter, as he slowly begins to move towards the 'something'.
OOC - so we aren't slowed down, I'll roll a bunch of relevant skills below:
Roland studies the camp before watching Baymen. He rolls up his sleeves for a moment and points his finger toward the woods in case a threat emerges from the trees.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Baymen, your detection yields no result. As far as otherworldly beings go, you are alone.
Roland...
Inside you find a small smooth gray stone. Strange runes are carved in a circular pattern that spirals all around it. They seem to be nonsense to you and yet they have a distinctly Primordial feel to them. Do an Arcana check (or Intelligence).
OOC: Sorry, I didn't see this part.
He peeks into his pack and glances at the contents. Arcana - 10
After he's done, he will make a Perception check to see what's out there - 18

The wood-elf spots a figure through the foliage, his eye drawn to the glint of something it is holding. Having only ever hunted animals in all his years as a poacher, he lowers his bow slightly, his experience telling him not to fire until absolutely sure of what was out there. Wanting to appear like he knew what he was doing, he calls out, both to his companions and the figure.
"There's someone out there. Who... who goes there? Show yourself!"

"To the inn? We need to keep going, assuming that this Citadel is here. Perhaps we'll find our answers there."

"C'mon, let's get going." Kindra starts down the path. "What's that you've got, Roland?"

Baymen readies himself for combat, keen on what Fargoth meant by his phrase and stance.
While the Paladin did not feel danger near, in the woods, a skilled hunter's sense should be relied on if possible.
Also, Baymen went ahead and pulled some wood and canvas off the cart and tried to make torches.
If he succeeded, he kept what he made. If he didn't, he tossed the wood and canvas. (Survival: 13 )
