Name: Tempest Race: Air Genasi Class: Ranger Alignment: Neutral Good Backstory: Tempest has spent her life living in Neverwinter Wood, just North East of Mount Hotenow, she was taught to forage and hunt within the vast woods from a young age. At the age of 12, Tempest's father Vent thought that the berries he'd picked were safe to eat, these berries drove him mad and he died shortly after. The past 10 years have been tough for Tempest but with connections to a few Dwarves and Elves in the area, she has survived. All was fine until recently, an Ice dragon flew directly over Neverwinter Wood, freezing most of the area that Tempest had called home for so many years, the small community that had become her family were wiped out and if Tempest hadn't been out on a hunt further South that day, then she would have also perished. Now she has traveled to Phandalin to seek the job of avenging her friends and the woods themselves.

Name: Athos de Tylmarande
Half-elf Monk, Neutral Good
Backstory: Noble
Athos was a younger son of a minor noble of Neverwinter. With too much money and not enough responsibilities, Athos frequently got into trouble and grew into a spiteful, vindictive little ass. So when he abruptly left his home and possessions and headed to a local monastery, his family was quite shocked, a bit relieved, and secretly delighted. After quite a bit of growth at the monastery, his meditations have guided him back home, where he hopes to redeem himself and do some good in the world. This opportunity is one he couldn't pass up.
Thank you so much for all the application guys! Just popping in to let everyone know that I'll be keeping the thread open for one more day to let any latecomers apply.
Thilvern is the result of a White Dragonborn and a Polymorphed Blue dragon Father. He is born with the magic of both in his blood. As a young age he left home to join a mercenary troop, only to become disillusioned with the death and with fighting for no cause but coin. He is seeking redemption, and also to cleanse himself of his evil chromatic dragon heritage.
Backstory: Prosper's parents had left the Feywild a long time ago, making their way through the world as wandering entertainers, altering their destinations at their whims. Born into the travelling lifestyle, Prosper always looked for the bright sides of life, always eager to meet new people, willing to learn new things, but she always wished she could stay and learn more about the places they visited. Her parents were never demanding of her, but nor were they very responsible as parents, and Prosper was always given free reign to explore, although this was not a privileged she abused very often.
When she was still young, her parents joined a travelling troupe of performers, giving Prosper her first job as an actor. While her talents were middling at best, she was a earnest student, giving her all to everything she learned, but it was always the stage fights that drew her attention the most. When she was nearing adulthood, the troupe's caravans burned down, destroying most of their props and costumes and forcing the performers to remain in Waterdeep for an extended period of time. Prosper's parents chose to leave to see more of the world rather than extend their stay, but Prosper, with her parents' blessing, opted to stay to help the troupe rebuild,.
Prosper found Waterdeep a good place to live. Rather rely on her dubious performances, she found her way into underground fighting pits where she discovered her talents at stage fighting gave her an edge when it came to learning actual fighting. A few bruises later she was earning an almost decent wage and when her troupe left the city she bid them goodbye, choosing to remain in Waterdeep. Pit fights soon evolved into offers for her to work as a guard for various merchants and nobles. Acting as a guard to a merchant's caravans, Prosper arrived in Phandalin, where her contract ended. When she caught wind of the troubles currently plaguing Phandalin, and seeing as she had nothing else to occupy her for now, she elected to stay for a while.
Ortix was curious, even by gnomish standards. He wasn't of bad character or generally given over to wickedness, but he did have a vice; an insatiable hunger for arcanal knowledge. A nocturnal visitation to the abode of the wrong kind of wizard caught the attention of the Paragons of the Blanched Mole, a cult of Urdlen, the Crawler Below. The Paragons were rather partial to a bit of unpleasantness, and in the young Ortix they saw a tool ripe for abuse.

Name: Sylrila Willowlark Race: Lightfoot halfling Class: Rogue/Bard Alignment: CG Backstory: Sylrila is a young lightfoot halfling from a rural hamlet. She's petite rather than stout, with a mane of messy, honey-nut curls and skin to match. As a small child she had an obsession with all things that glitter and sparkle, small nimble hands, and a talent for nabbing things unseen. Combined with an open, adorable face she got a way with probably too much and grew into a reckless, risk taking young woman. She bit off more than she could chew when she stole an amulet belonging to the local Lord. Hey...it was really shiny... and more compelling than a normal gem had any right to be.
Forced to leave her home or be executed for the theft, she made her way to city far away. There, her natural talents led her to working for the seedy elements. She played the lyre for the busiest tavern, keeping her ears open, and loosing tongues with her looks and charm. She reported back important information and sometimes, little treasures found their way into her pockets.
She caught the eye of an adventuring Bard who taught her, awakening a deep emotional connection to stories. She heard of the pleas for aid from the townspeople of Phandalin and decides to make her way there to discover what tale of adventure is waiting.

Name: Robwin Race: High Elf Class: Wizard (Abjuration) Alignment: Lawful Good Backstory: Relatively young for an elf, and only recently graduated from the school of abjuration, Robwin has been sent to Phandalin by his mentor to investigate the stories of the recent dragon attacks. A life-long student of the arcane, he‘s lead a relatively sheltered life up until now within the confines and protection of the school. Having never yet cast a spell in anger, he sets out on his first assignment alone with some trepidation for the adventure that lies ahead.
