Lok - Human barbarian, had gotten quite drunk the night before and has been sleeping in one of the many guest rooms before the event had even occurred.
Hearing shouts and slams coming from downstairs, Lok was suddenly roused from his slumber.
Glancing around groggily, he could hear the muffled sounds of commotion and excitement from under him.
"Wonder what all the ruckus is 'bout" he muttered, before rolling over and closing his eyes once more, blissfully unaware of what was unfolding around him.
Just a point ... it might seem minor but it must be said ... the tavern is one storey only. There is no 'upstairs' or 'downstairs'.
UPDATE: There are five guest rooms all on the ground floor, four small bedrooms and one master bedroom. The four small rooms can be claimed by characters, and so far Althoris, Carnation and Lok have all stated they are staying in a room. The fourth room is vacant and available, and can be rented from the half-elf bartender. The master bedroom is already occupied by someone else and cannot be claimed by a character. As of now, all other characters either arrived or checked out today, and do not have a room booked.
In future I will compile important information at the bottom of post #1.
Lia slips away from the tables, standing to the edge of the room, but after she sees Carnation heading toward Delmon and figures now might be the right time to move away. "Oi! Mister!" Lia half-calls out, ducking under elbows and drinks and slipping through the crowd, before popping up beside Tom. "Whiskey Tom, ain't it?" She has a strong cockney accent. "That poor halfling who knocked the lady's drink, he's-" she begins, before dropping to a whisper and putting her hand over her mouth "right behind those there ale kegs." she tips her head slightly to indicate, but doesn't glance over. "Just be careful heading over there, looks like things are getting quite rowdy." She steps back, and looks quite satisfied with herself. She motions for Tom to lead the way, and seems willing to follow him.
(Lia is pretty small, with fair skin, lightly dusted with freckles, and merlot hair, in short, 1920s-Esque curls and golden brown eyes which are always glistening with curiosity)
Tomaldorin nods sagely. He taps the other characters gathered near the door on the shoulder, sharing the new information.
"I recommend we meet with this halfling - the old hag mentioned that this was not the first time her wine had been spilled. An insinuation of previous events! Perhaps we can get the barman to help us set a perimeter around the poor fellow, away from the growing ruckus."
With that, Whiskey Tom starts to hobble towards the bar, skirting around the edge of the fighting but working his way inward towards the indicated barrels.
"I believe we can fit in my room, that would be number two," Althoris politely smiled to Tomaldorin, Locksure and Sylrila. "If you find the halfling, you are welcome to bring him there as well and we can continue our discussion in peace."
With that, graciously avoiding brawlers on the floor, the elf moved to the living part of the tavern.
Carnation emerges from one of the rooms. Seeing the commotion, she fights the urge to hide behind a book and puts on her cloak. It wasn’t the noise of a usual tavern that disturbed her before, it wasn’t the screaming hag, and it isn’t the people rushing to the bartender now. It’s the man gathering tables to the sound of small explosions whenever a tabletop hits the ground.
She moves around the construct to find Delmon.
“I would like to sleep!”
Emphasising every word, she tries to gather as many glasses of wine he has horded as possible.
I defend my wine with the ferocity of a mama bear protecting her cubs. I add more tables and chairs to my barricade.

Delmon walks up to Althoris, Tomaldorin, Locksure and Sylrila and says " I will defend this halfling with my life. Also the times the person's drink has gotten spilled might have to do with the riddle. " I walk up to the bartender and ask to have the fourth room. If he says I can have the room, I bring my food and drink to the room and start creating a fort in the back part of the room with furniture in the room and tables outside the room. I then leave my room satisfied with my fort and knock on the door of the master bedroom.

Althoris leads the way to his quarters, passing Carnation who is re-entering her room laden with several half-filled wine glasses.
Whiskey Tom manages to circle the fringe of the ruckus. On route, he sees that the bartender has taken shelter behind the bar, as the fighting has progressed from fisticuffs to the occasional chair or broken glass. Approaching the kegs, he spots the halfling huddled behind the kegs, but peeking through a gap at the fight by the bar.
Delmon delivers his impulsive promise to the assembled investigators, then approaches the fighting crowd to attempt to make passage to the bar. But a push in the back from one of the disgruntled diners that had their table overturned propels Delmon into the midst of the brawl, and he takes an elbow to the face and a knee to the groin as bodies jostle against him.
Sylrila starts playing a jaunty tune that complements the growing brouhaha.

Lia changes her mind about following Tom into the fray and is standing nearby, cautiously eyeing the tangle of bodies, and lightly tapping her foot to Sylria's music.
Emptying one of the glasses, Carnation packs her bags and decides that now would be a good time to leave. She opens the window and tries to step outside, curse be damned.
A good two minutes pass before she realises how fruitless her attempts are.
The fighting outside blares into her room, despite the shut door, and it would be only a matter of time until it would get to her. She clutches her belongings and leaves the room, trying to stay close to the walls. Amid the chaos, she spots a head of merlot hair enjoying the music and goes to stand by Lia.
“Who would’ve thought a town like this would offer entertainment like that?” she says and reaches out a hand to cast Calm Emotions on the room.
Lia grins widely, feeling the tension drain from her body. "She certainly is quite talented," she says, before peeling her eyes away from the crowd. "The name's Lia Dewtail." She extends a hand to Carnation.
Delmon knocks on the door of the masterbedroom then runs over to protect the halfling. I pull out my shortsword and shield and tell him to come to my room.

One hand still raised, Carnation musters a smile and gives Lia the other one, ignoring the racing heart in her chest. "Carnation Vannier," she says, her eyes locked on the crowd.
With Carnation's spell, the feeling of fear and frustration seems to lift from the entire room. Those brawling around the bar pause mid-fight and sheepishly dust themselves off, mumbling apologies and wondering why they should bother fighting over something as harmless as being locked in a comfortable tavern with good food, drink and music. Sylrila again expertly alters the music to suit the mood, and a slow but pleasant tune fills the room as the patrons shake hands and offer to buy each other drinks.
Delmon knocks furiously, until he notices that he is actually still standing at the bar, not at the door of the master bedroom. Realization slowly dawns on him that he is not under a Haste spell, that he cannot teleport, and that there is sadly only one of him, and that therefore he cannot be in several places at once, or complete multiple actions in multiple places in a very short space of time. Carnation's spell seems powerful enough to counter the effect of all those drinks Delmon consumed, particularly the ones in the small metal flasks with the blue label and the image of a Red Bull, and Delmon looks blankly over at the bartender, who is himself staring at Delmon's face, watching thoughts slice through his mind in much the same way as a club slices through a gelatinous cube. Can I help you there son? the bartender asks Delmon.
As the fighting subsides, the halfling behind the kegs loses interest and looks up, only to shudder with surprise as he sees two eyes peering at him from behind a thick silver beard. 'Ere! What you want? he squeaks at Whiskey Tom.

Lia's cheeks suddenly flush red and she looks away, glancing back and seeing the fight is already dispersing. She sees Tom standing beside the halfling, and flashes another smile at Carnation. "Well, pleased to meet you Carnation." she begins, shaking her hand, and then saying "I'm sure we'll talk again." before walking over.
"Well, that was quick," Lia jokes, seeing Carnation followed her, and immediately regrets panicking and running off like that. She turns to Tom, looks over to the quiet spot, and back to the halfling and smiles, waiting for his answer.
Hearing the offer, and seeing the friendly faces, the halfling replies: If you're supplying the drinks, I can be supplying the story, and he rises and scoots out of his hidey-hole to follow Tom, Lia and Carnation. The quiet end of the tavern, not quite being under the area of influence of Carnation's spell, still look a little tense after just managing to replace their tables and chairs, and don't seem quite a welcoming as before, as Tom remembers the offer of Althoris to assemble in his room for privacy...
Delmon manages to request a room from Willagee, and pays him the necessary fee, then turns to see the group move off with the halfling to whom he has so gallantly pledged himself as protector.
Willagee sends a complimentary drink out to Sylrila for her music, which he assumes is responsible for so suddenly changing the atmosphere in the room.

Lok has not been able to fall back asleep no matter how hard he tries. he has been tossing and turning ever since the loud ruckus from the bar woke him up.
Frustrated, Lok gets out of bed. His head pounding from the hangover of his previous night drinks he begins taking the time to collect himself and redress.
Lok throws open the door and heads straight to the bar, gesturing to get the bartender's attention. "Hey! I could use a drink over here!" Lok yells after him. While waiting for his drink, or for the bartender to even notice him. the barbarian turns to the nearest customer at the bar
"been more rowdy here tonight than usual, aint it?" he questions with a yawn
