While walking down the road, Kathleen keeps a lookout and manages to see something shift behind some bushes. It is a small creature, about 3.5ft tall, hiding in the foliage. Its green-ish-grey skin camouflage it well, but not well enought to hide from your elven eyes. You identify it as a goblin, and from it moving behind the bushes might think that it is aware of your precense. though you also gather that it might not be aware that you know of its presence.
Kathleen quickly gets a firm grip on her bow and informs the group, "Don't look now but there's a goblin here." She knocks and arrow and looking in the direction of the goblin she says, "I can see you over there. Do you need anything? If not then please let us both be on our merry way." Kathleen would rather talk things out than throw hands but she is ready to fight back should it be needed.

"Oh, hiding wont be neccessairy then" he shouts with a creaking voice
As he says this arrows fly towards you, from the other side of the road, one towards Kathleen, one towards Leelan. the archers seem to be a bit closer towards you, maybe about 60 to 70 ft Against Kathleen: Attack: 21 Damage: 5 Against Leelan: Attack: 9 Damage: 3
Initiative Party: 13+22+15 Goblins: 16+5+6
Winning initiative, the goblins go again, repeating the two shots, now at Leelan and Johan Against Johan: Attack: 20 Damage: 6 Against Leelan: Attack: 10 Damage: 5 The last goblin draws a dagger from a sheath strapped to his hip and begins charging towards you, ending his movement about 40ft away from you.
With that it comes to your turn.
I realized editing messes with the rolls. the goblins won in initiative before i edited the second turn.
Also for future reference, if you add more rolls in an edit, make sure that the new rolls are at the bottom of the post. Other wise the manipulated dice happens. Are the damage and attack rolls accurate?
Leelan had managed to dodge the first arrow but the second one had reached his shoulder. He grits his teeth through the pain. He unsheathes his daggers and runs foward 20 feet toward the dagger-wielding goblin.
Leelan charges, knife wielding. He throws the first dagger and hits in the stomach area. The goblin stops his painful screeching only when a second dagger digs into its head, right between the eyes. that is 1 enemy down.
FYI the way i handle initiative is: rolling initiative for each side of a conflict. The highest average begins. As in the group there is no fixed order requiered and everyone goes when they do. This way we dont have to wait for one specific player and everything goes over a bit more smothly.
Also i am looking to include a visual reference of some sort. I have recently discovered shmeppy and i think it would satisfy our needs. Its a virtual flip-mat that can be looked at via a link that i will send when combat starts (and soon for this fight). Then i will update the map as it comes to your turn.

As Kathleen lets loose her arrow, if flies towards the goblins between the bushes and a squealing can be heard. Just moments later another two arrows fly out of the thicket, though one poses no danger as it passes all of you by tens of feet. the other targets Johan who now is the closest of the group.

Ah thanks for the clarification.
Kathleen's military training kicks in as she moves around the goblin's cover to flank them and moving towards her own cover at the same time. She runs up and flies an arrow at the now exposed goblin. Then she dives behind a tree.
Moving North-West 3 spaces; West 1 space; Shooting at the goblin directly North: 18 Dmg: 7 Moving West 1 space to get behind the tree for cover.

Leelan would not see this happen.

Is there any cover nearby?

Attacks and damage are okay as they are. they swaped once, but generally resulted into the same thing. Also thanks for the tip, didnt know that.
There is cover in form of trees of the road and another cart about 50ft behind you.
Kathleen is hit in her gut by the arrow. She quickly limps towards cover but not before returning fire at the goblin that shot her.

(I imagine my initiative is one of the 13s?)

I hope this works well.
How far are the goblins from Johan now?
Paladin - warforged - orange
The closer would be at about 50ft, the other at 65ft
Johan will run forward and hide behind his shield (Dodge).

Quick question: The map you posted. Is each grid/square 5ft ?
It is ment to be 5ft per square.
Did i miscount something?
No, I don't think you miscounted anything but I just wanted to be sure. Is the green swamp/grass difficult terrain?
It is more just wet and a bit muddy, in a way it would slow down a cart, but not someone on foot
